Deep Superior Episode 002- Matt Richer

Matt Richer is the owner and head trainer of Leading Edge Gym since 1999. Matt has successfully coached many fighters in various styles such as mixed martial arts, boxing, kick boxing and wrestling. Matt holds various accolades in several martial arts modalities listed as follows: Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 1st degree black belt and professor under Daniel Moroney, 1st degree black belt in Shintani Wado Kai Karate 1982 , 1st degree black belt in Wado Ryu Korate Do 1985, 2nd degree black belt in Wado Ryu, 1st degree black belt in combat Hapkido 1998, 2nd degree black belt in combat Hapkido 2001.

Matt also has various other impressive achievements such as conducting self defense workshops for both men and women from 2000 to the present. 2018 He started Street Safe NWO teaching self defense to individuals and groups small and large. Matt has coached many provincial and national medalists. In 2019 Matt was awarded outstanding coach award from Boxing Ontario. He's worked City Transit from 1988 until the present and is both a loving husband and father to two sons.
