Episode ninety-seven of the State of the Old Republic Podcast was originally recorded on april tenth, twenty nineteen. It's the State of the Old Republic Podcast. If you're wondering where the Empire Republic went after the events on Osus, well the answer is Dante. They're on Dante Wee. I'm sure it was because of her appearance on the show last week. Just saying. And with that, it's time to make the jump to Lightspeed. And cue the moron. Well, thank you, Galt, and welcome to episode 97 of the State of the Old Republic podcast. I'm your host, Ted, and as you heard in the opening, I have another great show lined up for you today. Now I wasn't planning to do an episode before Star Wars Celebration, but the panel lottery notifications just started to go out, and I needed something to distract me from frantically checking my inbox every two seconds. Well that and the fact that BioWare decided to drop some big news about game update 5.10.3, the content creators program, and a whole lot more. So here I am. First up, let's head to Dontwing, shall we? Raise your hand if you are hoping the next update after 5.10.2 would be 6.0. Of course you were. You can put your hands down now as we know that the next update after 5.10.2 is 5.10.3 because that's how numbers work. The Dontuin Incursion will introduce a new recurring event to Star Wars The Old Republic that will take place on, you guessed it, the Planet Dontoin. So why this iconic planet? Well, according to Bioware, with the renewed war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, the remote planet Dontoin has taken on sudden significance. Its location at the edge of Imperial Space makes it a perfect staging area for Republic military ships traveling to and from the front lines. Unable to breach the Republic lines and attack the planet directly, the agents of the Empire have recruited the brutal Nova Blade Pirates to attack Dontuin from within the Republic's own territory, catching the planet's defenders completely off guard with the overwhelming violence of their attack. In the ensuing chaos, elite imperial forces have infiltrated Dontwin and established a hidden base on the planet's surface, aiming to cripple the Republic's efforts with a series of surgical strikes. The Nova Blades lash out at anyone and everyone they can find. Despite originally being hired by the Empire, this brutal pirate armada cares only for the plunder they can claim. Staggered by the pirates' ruthlessness and the Empire's cunning, the Republic's Harried Defenders put out a call for assistance from anyone who can help them hold Dantuin against the enemy's deadly incursions. Now most of you know Dontoin is the home of an abandoned rebel base, but it's also a prominent planet from Knights of the Old Republic. Now, as to what I'm hoping for from the Dontoin Incursion, well, first I hope it will be a frequent event. Second, I hope there are lots of references to Kotor lore. And finally, I'm hoping that either Kai Zaiken or Jaccaro in C2D4 are now running the Nova Blades, preferably all three. I would love to see them make a return to the game once more. Like previous updates, the Dontoin Incursion will be released to the public test server before going live. And now that we know what's coming in game update 5.10.3, I think we can rest assured that the Cantina announcements will be all about the next expansion. The good news is it's not really gone, but has been rebranded as the Content Creator Program. In a blog post over at SWOTOR.com, Bioware said, Content creators have been active within our community since Star Wars the Old Republic's inception. Some wrote in-depth class guides to help players optimize their builds or created epic videos to show strategies for tackling the toughest bosses. Others opted to providing endless entertainment via podcasts, that would be me, maybe, or live streams. Regardless of how these content creators participated, they've all had one thing in common being a positive influence within the community. Seeing this, we wanted to build an official program in order to support them and their passions better. Now, if you're interested in joining the content creator program, send an email to fansites at swotor.com along with the following information your platform information, such as YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and so forth. The type of content you create, how long you have been doing it, and why you think you would be a good fit for the program. By the way, if you struggle with coming up with a good reason, you can always go with, well, you let this moof milk or Ted in, so why not me? Now, as far as the program itself, it is not some secret society. We're not the old Republic Illuminati. As the article points out, over the years the support we've been able to offer these creators has ranged from social media promotions, codes for giveaways, and exclusives like having members of the team appear on their streams, podcasts, etcetera. I've said it before in terms of information about the game. We often hear things the same time you do, which, as we know, is hardly ever. Let me just say, regardless of the program, if you're someone who has thought about creating content for Star Wars The Old Republic, but hasn't done it, just do it. Seriously, that's all I did. As you can probably tell, I didn't put a whole lot of thought into this podcast, at least not in the beginning. I just decided to do it and see where it would go, and thank the force, I'm about three years into it with no sign of stopping. There's no reason this couldn't be you. Well, to help answer that question, Bioware is going to be doing a bi-weekly series of showcase articles highlighting each of the creators. According to Bioware, you'll get to know who they are, what type of content they create, and what you can look forward to in their communities. The articles will be hosted on Swotor.com and promoted across our social channels as well as the game launcher itself. The first article is up and it showcases none other than Swotorista. I'd like to think that it was her appearance last episode that secured her the number one spot, but then again, delusions of grandeur are my speciality. Mm-hmm. So she probably got there on her own. The fact that the article was started weeks ago kinda gives it away.

Suppose that means yours truly will be up there someday. Knowing my luck, it'll happen on the worst patch day ever, and I'll get blamed for the whole thing. It's nice to see them showcase all the great folks in the program.
