Chanell from Top Shelf Beauty The Brand and I Talk Merchandising!
Jan 05, 2020 Season 1 Episode 8
Chanell Schamber

Chanell explains how she went from her dream of being a publicist for athletes to the lash industry and how it took her three years of not living the dream, that made her realize what her dream really was.

She talks about her transition from Topshelf Beauty Bar to Topshelf Beauty the Brand to incorporate all of the avenues she pursues- the apparel, the salon she owns, and who she is as an artist.

We talk about events and conventions and how crucial attending these are to network-while they can be pricey, it's a great time to create connections in the industry and be able to put more faces to business names.

We talk about how important we both think it is to “show up” so people know who you are and what your brand is about, and can connect your message to your face.

She explains her subscription boxes and how amazing they are and how versatile. She explains how she plans to have takeovers by different lash artists on certain months. A collab including Steven The Borby Boy and a takeover by LuxUncut!

We also talk defects and the problems you run into retailing. The manufacturing issues and the bullshit. We also talk about the approach and manners others should have when asking other lash artists questions about their manufactures etc.

We end the podcast with her craziest client stories and the two times she had to call the police on clients. Eeeeek!

Hope you love this episode as much as I love Chanell!
