Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee take a question from one of our listeners and discuss some interesting cases from Dr. Mistry’s practice this week.
One of the latest treatments available for prostate cancer is what is known as the HIFU, or high intensity focused ultrasound. This procedure uses an advanced technology which concentrates sound waves so that they can be used to remove cancerous tissue from the prostate gland. Increasingly, more and more men are considering this procedure as it is associated with fewer complications as well as preserving sexual and urinary function. If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, feel free to contact us for a second opinion on your treatment or find out if the HIFU is right for you.
Dr. Mistry answers a question from a listener who has noticed some semen in his urine, also known as hematospermia. Dr. Mistry discusses that this is a very common, usually benign, condition; however, it should not be dismissed. While this usually is not a major health risk, it can be a sign of a more emergent condition such as kidney or prostate cancer.
