NAU’s very own Dr. Christopher Yang completed a fellowship in placement of the penile prosthesis, which can be a more permanent treatment of erectile dysfunction than medications. Additionally, Dr. Mistry will shed light on surgical treatments that can be used to resolve urinary stress incontinence, or urine leakage when coughing, sneezing, or getting out of a chair. This is a common condition affecting many men, in particular those who have had a radical prostatectomy or TURP in the past. -Also coming soon is NAU’s very first BPH Summit which will be held at the South Austin office on November 7th. Benign prostatic hypertrophy, commonly known as BPH or enlarged prostate, is a condition affecting nearly half of all men over the age of 50. BPH can be managed with medications; however, due to some of the possible side effects from their long-term use, it may be helpful to find out about other available treatments. The summit will provide a great opportunity to hear mini-lectures presented by the experts themselves on the different surgical treatments offered for BPH including Urolift, Rezum, Prostate Artery Embolization, greenlight laser, and the traditional TURP.
