Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee want to take some time around Father's Day and discuss a medical condition that affects many of the fathers and men in our lives. Prostate cancer is diagnosed in approximately 300,000 men each year. While this form of cancer is considered to have a lower mortality risk, meaning it claims less lives than other types of cancer, it is important to know the steps to take after receiving this diagnosis.
Dr. Mistry discusses the location and anatomy of the prostate, as well as why it is crucial to know all of the options available in treating prostate cancer. He takes listeners through the screening process used to determine if cancer is present and how these can help determine treatment options.
Dr. Mistry also gives an in-depth look at the HIFU, or high-intensity focused ultrasound, which is a method for treating prostate cancer via concentrated sound waves.
Dr. Mistry is a board-certified urologist and has been treating patients in the Austin and Greater Williamson County area since he started his private practice in 2007.
