Dr. Sandeep Mistry and Donna Lee

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

In this segment Donna Lee gets expert answers to questions emailed in to the program by you, our listeners! If you have a urology and health-related question that you would like to hear answered on the air, please email your questions to armormenshealth@gmail.com. Questions are answered anonymously, unless otherwise specified, and the answers will likely benefit many people with the same concerns.

Today's questions involve two very specific, yet very common conditions affecting men of all ages.

Question (concern): " (Help) I have phimosis!"

Phimosis is a condition characterized by a tight foreskin that is difficult to pull back, making urination and sexual intercourse troublesome or painful (find out more here: https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/phimosis). Dr. Mistry discusses various causes of phimosis as well as treatments which differ based on age and severity. He and Dr. Jacomides also share about sex-life and performance after receiving treatment for this condition.

Question 2: " Is there any new (non-surgical) treatment for Peyronie's disease? I tried Xiaflex but had no success."

Xiaflex is a medication used to treat Peyronie's disease, a condition characterized by abnormal curvature of the penis. This can be caused by trauma to the penis; however, this is not always the case. Xiaflex is derived from enzymes that target and help to break down the scar tissue that builds up in Peyronie's disease.

For patients that do not respond to treatment with medication, surgery is a great option. Our doctors today discuss the surgical treatment of Peyronie's disease and shine some light on this important topic.
