Dr. Sandeep Mistry and Donna Lee

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

In this segment Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee take a question emailed in to the program by you, our listeners! If you have a urology and health-related question that you would like to hear answered on the air, please email your questions to armormenshealth@gmail.com. Questions are answered anonymously, unless otherwise specified, and the answers will likely benefit many people with the same concerns.

Question 1: " Dr. Mistry, can you effectively treat epididymitis? I am hoping to not need surgery since I travel a lot for work."

Epididymitis is inflammation of the tube located at the back of the testicles, known as the epididymis. This tube stores and carries sperm under normal conditions; however, it can become swollen and cause pain due to bacterial infections or other causes.

Dr. Mistry shares on acute vs. chronic epididymitis, as well as who may benefit most from a surgical intervention.

Question 2: " Is there anything I can do to have more frequent sex?"

Dr. Mistry reminds us that having sex involves multiple factors, including: a willing partner, sex drive (a.k.a. libido), and how well we are performing or functioning. In addition to medications that may be used to help improve sex drive, Urology Specialists has a sex therapist ready to offer counseling to patients who may need more help with the psychological aspect of intimacy.

Also discussed are some of the additional services and providers available to patients of Urology Specialists. These include a pelvic floor physical therapist, dietitian/nutritionist, and sleep study specialist. These services can play a critical role in not just feeling better today, but feeling better for life!
