Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee are joined by NAU's very own Dr. Lucas Jacomides and Dr. Doug Rivera, a radiation oncologist at the Austin Cancer Center. Our program today provides a wealth of information about radiation therapy in cancer treatment, and is a great example of how physicians collaborate to give patients the best possible outcome.
Dr. Rivera discusses the various forms of radiation therapy and how they can be used to treat prostate cancer. It is important to remember that not all prostate cancers are the same, some differences include: aggression of cancer, location in the prostate, size of the prostate, and an individual's medical history. Dr. Rivera also discusses some of the side effects of radiation therapy and how these have been reduced in recent years.
Prostate cancer is a scary diagnosis. Fortunately, with routine testing and early detection it is also highly treatable. At Urology Specialists, our providers are ready to talk with you about all of your treatment options, and help you thrive in life after cancer.
