Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee describe two surgical procedures common in urology that share the same title: the vasectomy. One is a removal of the vas deferens, or the tube that connects the testicles to the prostate, where sperm is transported so that we can reproduce. The other and more common procedure is the occlusion of the vas deferens to prevent pregnancy. At NAU Urology Specialists, we offer what we call the "Mistry vasectomy," which is different from the typical vasectomy in that it can be obtained with a single visit (vs. the 2-3 appointments typically required), is done under general anesthesia, and is completed using only a single incision. Dr. Mistry also explains the likelihood of a vasectomy reversal resulting in a pregnancy--the success rates can vary and are largely determined by the length of time since the patient had their initial vasectomy. No matter what your fears are about having a vasectomy or a vasectomy reversal, our team at NAU Urology Specialists is happy to take care of you and your reproductive health.
