Welcome to this quick minute with Sheena and today I wanna to talk to you guys about a question that was asked in my facebook group. I put out the question, you know, how can I help support you with your business goals in 2019? And one of the questions that I got was how do you find your passion? So a lot of people nowadays are looking in the online space and seeing that there's a huge opportunity there to create an online business, to create a side hustle, to create a main hustle, to create a side hustle to your side hustle. There's just so much opportunity to be able to expand and share what you love and how you can help and serve people in the online space. There's just it, it just, it's so much easier today to build an online business than it was, you know, five years ago, 10 years ago, and we have access to so much information and, and resources that don't break the bank, that are allowing us to be present in the online space and be able to share and offer things to people and help people and make money at the same time. Really. And so how do you figure out if this is something that you've been thinking about, something you've been looking at and something you've been, you know, you're watching other people do this and you're like, I want to do this, but I don't know what I could offer people. There's a couple tips that I'm going to give you to help you figure out what that might look like for you. What that passion can be for you. And you know, I'll tell you a little bit about my story and, and figuring out my passion. It was one of things that I've always been known for. One of the things that I've always, even as a little girl is my love for talking. I was nicknamed motor mouth growing up. I loved to talk to people. I've often been told I'm a good trainer. Um, I just, when I'm inspired and I'm helping somebody, there's just a side of me that comes out. I'm like, especially like in doing something with these podcasts are doing like videos online and sharing information that I've learned. I get really fired up about it and I love talking and sharing with people. And so that's something that I know about myself. And so when I was thinking about what my side hustle would be or what my business would be, when the idea came to me, you know, I knew I had to learn things in my life. I knew I had learned things from building my network marketing business. I'm from being an entrepreneur in that space. Um, you know, with my graphic design and marketing background, I knew I had some things that I knew from my years doing that. And so I knew I could help train people how to be better at that time at network marketing because I had achieved a certain level of success and I could take what I had learned and train it out to other people because I knew I love talking and I knew I loved training. And so those were some things that I just inherently knew about myself. So when you're thinking about building an online business, if you've been kind of looking at the space and wanting to kind of play around with it and test it out and maybe see if there's something there for you, I want you to start thinking about what are the things that you know you're good at? What are the things that make you excited or that fire you up or that make you happy? What are the things that when you think about helping or putting something out into the world, into this space that get you excited? Now, for some people, for me it's training and coaching. For other people it could be, um, you know, I really enjoy creating these online widgets or these widgets. And I want to sell them online because I know when people buy these widgets, I know how much it's going to help them in their life. So maybe it's actually creating a physical product. Maybe you enjoy art. Maybe you paint these amazing paintings and everybody keeps telling you how awesome they are. And now you're maybe thinking, well, hey, heck, I could do more of these, installed them online. Um, maybe you've had some experience in your life. One of my clients in my mastermind that starting in a couple of weeks, she has had some experiences in her life that she's had to overcome and she has a lot of people because she's overcome those experiences. She's had a lot of people come to her saying, Hey, you know what? I know somebody who's going through what you went through. Like, could you help them? Could you talk to them? And in her mind she was like, I don't want to have all these individual conversations with people, but I want to help people. So if I can show up in an online space, create a business around helping people in this, this, this space that I've been through, you know, I can serve them without having to have individual phone calls with everybody and I can help people overcome this like I did, you know, by sharing what I've learned through online course, through books, through I'm doing live and sharing through a podcast and that kind of stuff. So think about one, what lights you up, what makes you excited, what, you know, when you think about doing that. It doesn't, maybe it scares you a little bit, but it doesn't. Um, it makes you feel excited, you know, almost like an excited fear. And number two, you know, what are some things that you know, you're good at, you know, what are things that people say, hey, you're really good at that or you know, you really handled that well. And number three, what have you been through? What have you overcome? What have you been able to help? What have you been able to go through yourself that you could take the lessons that you've learned and help other people? Now? For me, when I was building my network marketing business and, and, and you know, accomplishing great things with that and then turning around and want to help other people build their businesses where I started now what happened with me is I evolved, you know, I started an online business to help coach people in the network marketing space. But as I was going through that, I realized there was more that I wanted to do. I wanted to help people in any kind of an online business, not just within that specific space. And so I've evolved my online business based on how I'm feeling about the work that I'm doing and as I'm learning more because here's the thing. We're always learning. If you want to create an online business to share your widgets or to share some coaching or to share whatever you're always wanting to invest in learning how you can do those things better. How you can learn more about that specific space. How you can, you know, teach more things so it's not like you only experience one thing and then you stop and you share everything about that thing and you're done. You have to continue to, to grow and expand what you know in that space. Right. I hope that makes sense. So in my journey in, in teaching network marketing in the online space, I did a lot of personal work on how to build an online business. I worked with mentors specifically to teach me how to build an online business. And in that process of learning and growing for myself, I've been able to take that knowledge and go, oh my gosh, I want to teach more of this. This is really firing me up. And so I've learned that my passion, your passion may start in one space, but it may expand as you keep growing and learning. And so now I've evolved into teaching people, you know, maybe they're still in network marketing, but they want to build a, a, a solid online brand or maybe they're in network marketing and they're ready to, to build a side hustle to their network marketing business. Like I did, or maybe they're in corporate and they want to build an online business. I now can help and serve all of those spaces in places, all of those people in those spaces because I've evolved my learning and I've grown my passion to expand outside of what I thought I initially wanted to do in my own online business. So if you're thinking about being in the online space and you're thinking about wanting to create a brand and a business around yourself, whether, like I said, selling the widgets or the paintings or your coaching or helping people in any way, shape or form through an experience you've been through. One, I want you to know that it's totally possible and totally doable. I say this to everybody who I talk with about, you know, starting a business is that if I can do this, my gosh, anybody can do this. It's totally doable. It's, I feel like nowadays with the resources that are available, it's never been easier. Um, I, I'm somebody who's technical. I know I'm not technically challenged. I'm very technical. I love building and creating things in, in the online space. So for me, that one wasn't so tough, but I know that for other people, that's part of what holds them back. Maybe they know what they love and they know they're passionate, but they're like, oh my gosh, I don't know how to get started. I don't even know the first steps. I want to reassure you that you can do it, that it's not as hard as it may look and just get some help. I didn't know I maybe knew how to be technical and use, um, you know, social media platforms and I could figure things out. But I didn't know the strategy. And so I had to hire somebody to say, okay, I, I want to do this. I've got these pieces created, but I don't know what the strategy is on how to call in the tribe. How do I show people that I'm open for business? So I hired somebody to help me do that. And there are people out there, myself included, that you can hire, be part of their masterminds or be part of their group coachings. And that will teach you how to step by step, build the online business and calling your tribe how to, you know, figure out, you know, nail down what your passion is, nailed down, what your ideal client is, how to build all the pieces so that you can show up online and start serving in that space in a big way. Because here's the thing, you guys, the opportunity that exists in the online world is so big like in my mind, it's so vast and so big because we get to be online, share our messages, share our stories, share our services, products, all the things to a space that is filled with billions of people. Billions of people are online and they're looking to learn. People are hungry to learn and grow and guess what they want to learn on the go. They want to learn from things like this podcast. They want to learn from things like facebook live and instagram stories. They are following the people who are showing up and serving and giving their messages and and sharing their services. I know this because I'm one of them. I follow people who are doing what I want to do. I'm buying courses, I'm signing up for masterminds, I'm doing the things that I can learn and grow and own a piece of this space because I know where it's going and it's gonna be huge. So I just want to, you know, the question, just to recap was how do you find your passion? You know, if you are somebody who's looking to be a, you know, have a piece of this pie who wants to show up in this space but you don't know why or how or what you should be doing. I want you to go inward and look at yourself and go, what am I good at? What do I love? What fires me up? You know, what do people say about me that I'm good at? You know, um, how can I turn that into something that's going to serve people? What experiences have I been through, you know, and make a list, brainstorm and brainstorm and think about these things. Like, you know, it's not going to be you. You might not figure out your passion and your online business overnight. It may take some time to do this, you know, you may have to ask these questions to yourself daily and just keep writing down what comes. But once you, you know, when you think about it, if you think about the five things that really make you who you are, you know, for me it's like I'm an entrepreneur. I'm a mom, you know, I, um, I love Yoga and meditation. I call myself a spiritual gangster, want to be because I love those things, but I, I do suffer from making time for those things. I need to make those more part of my life. But that's something that I talk about, you know, that's something that's part of who I am, you know, I have all the things. I just don't do them the way I should sometimes. Um, you know, that's, that's a part of who I am. You know, I love, I love exercising. I love going to the gym. I shouldn't say I love it, but I go to the gym, I work out. I make sure that I keep healthy. You know, those are all parts of who I am. I'm somebody who you know, is kind of goofy and you know, I don't always say the right things. My grammar isn't always perfect, you know, I don't very authentic and real. That's part of who I am as part of my brand. So when you think of you and how you could show up in that space, what kind of things come to mind for you? And I do actually have a couple of things. Actually now that I'm thinking about this, I do have on my shane record.com website is a free download. It's a Webinar I did a while ago on how to build your personal brand. It's in my freebie section on my website and there's a workbook for it. Something like that will help you figure out who you are and what your passions are and how that can come into play for something that you may want to build online. So make sure you had to my site and grab that. And I also have, for those of you who are sitting there going, okay, I know these things about myself. I know I want to build this this year. I know I have this idea and I know it's good and I know it's going to help people. I'm ready to get started, but I just don't know how or I need some help. I do have a, it's called the rockier, his mastermind in starting on January 16. That's this mastermind is I'm literally holding your hand through the process because I've done it, I've been there, I know the things and I, and I'm still working on figuring out new things everyday because the space does change quite frequently, so you have to stay educating yourself and staying on top of it. So if that's, I hope that that one helps you figure out a little bit more about who you are and what your passions are and how maybe you could show up in the online space today. And if you're somebody who's like, oh, this is it, I need to do this, this is my sign. Okay, if you're hearing this and you're ready to take this as your sign, whether it's me or somebody else, don't wait, are you guys. I put my business idea, my passion on hold for two years because I felt like I needed to be a certain place. Be a certain person. Um, you know, I just, there was so many excuses I put in front of myself and I feel like I lost two years of progress because I was afraid to do it. And you know, I, I, I am a believer that everything happens when the time is right, but looking back at that, I feel like I wish I just had it been braver, bolder, and just done it, you know, I wasted too much time worrying about judgment and what other people won't judgment, what about what other people are going to think and if I was able to do it and all the things will, here's what I learned. I am able to do it. And if I can do this, anyone can do this. So that's my message today. Guys. I hope this helps you get started in finding your passion. Go to my site, she record.com.
