Creating from Alignment
Ever feel the unmistakable difference between creating when you're dragging yourself through the process versus when you're in complete flow? That difference is alignment—and it changes everything about your creative output.
Throughout history, spiritual traditions have provided frameworks for maintaining alignment, whether through the yamas and niyamas of Hindu practices or the Ten Commandments. These aren't arbitrary rules but roadmaps to the energetic clarity that unleashes our highest creative potential.
When you're aligned, creation feels effortless. Your body is light, your mind is clear, and inspiration flows through you rather than from you. You enter a high-frequency state where ideas seem to download directly from the universe. Contrast this with creation from misalignment—the heavy feeling in your chest, the mental fog, the resistance that makes every word, note, or brushstroke feel like pushing through mud.
Most fascinating is how alignment and creation form a feedback loop. Sometimes the surest path to alignment isn't waiting for inspiration but simply starting to create. As professionals understand (unlike amateurs who wait for the muse), the act of creation itself often generates the very alignment we seek. This is why building a consistent creative practice matters—it's not just about output but about regularly accessing this elevated state of being.
The energy levels of shame, anger, and fear block creative flow, while gratitude, acceptance, and purpose enhance it. Dr. David Hawkins placed creative states around 500 on his scale of consciousness—well above the threshold where transformation happens. At these levels, you're not just producing work; you're channeling something greater through your unique vessel.

Good, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are in the world, happy Saturday, at least at the time that I'm recording this, or happy whatever day it is, where you are in the world, because I know we have a global people listening, so maybe it's Sunday, maybe it's Monday, maybe you're in Australia, maybe you're a day ahead. I'd like to say hello, good morning, and provide you some happy, positive energy at the beginning of this recording of this podcast. And the topic of today's podcast is why creating from alignment hits different. And these podcasts I'm going to start rolling out like a ton of these, and my plan for these is for them to really nail in on the philosophy that I'm building out as we grow 8am world and 8am members club and 8am brand overall. And you know I'm I've always been very into philosophy and so I'm really like building out my own personal philosophy and way of living, and it centers around three key concepts alignment, creation and connection. And so, as far as um, as far as alignment goes, okay, so we're, we're going to kind of rotate between the three of these as we make different episodes.
Speaker 1:Um, but as far as alignment goes, and why, when you're creating, it hits different when you're in alignment. So I guess this is kind of a blend. Um. Why it hits different is because when you have a clear chakra system, okay, when you, when your body is totally cleansed and clear and and basically like you, you just feel with every cell in your body that you're doing the right thing and you're doing you know there's nothing that you're avoiding, you're just like on the right path. You haven't skipped any workouts, you are, you know. You meditated in the morning, you prayed, you ate healthy, you managed your finances appropriately, you did everything you needed to do for work, you got fresh air, you got something like when you do all those things and these are like yamas and niyamas in in Hindu scriptures, and I may be pronouncing that wrong but when you do all of these things, you hit alignment.
Speaker 1:Okay, and alignment is an energy state where you just feel like, wow, I feel fucking amazing. Like if you ever see Jeremy fragrance on Instagram, he's like this strange German, uh, fragrance influencer, that guy is aligned. You know, like that, that guy's like he'll just he'll just come on to Instagram and just be like power, power, baby. And you can just tell that guy's got aligned energy centers, right. And here's the thing. There there's a very clear like. There's a very clear thing that you can feel when you're not aligned, and it's like this feeling in your chest of like weight and like dragging you down and, like you, you just know that you're. You're just not aligned. You feel it. It's very viscerally clear. And so when you're feeling aligned, you feel clear. When you, when you're in that mode, when you're in that energy state, like you can, you can feel it off other people. You can really viscerally feel it, like off my voice right now, can feel it off other people, you can really viscerally feel it like off my voice right now, because I'm aligned and when you're aligned, you know it. Okay. And so when you're in this energy state, it is, it is mentally clear, it is physically clear and it is spiritually clear. And the reason this makes creation different is because, well, you know what? Before I even get into what that is, let me just elaborate more on, like, this alignment thing. I want to be very clear about it.
Speaker 1:Like all of them and I've been talking about this a lot, but all the major religions that have gone into, you know, anything in relation to, uh, in relation to, like, centering yourself in God and rooting yourself in the kingdom of heaven. They're all talking about alignment, okay. And so, as they're talking about alignment, they tell you to do certain things. You know, the Bible has the 10 commandments. In in Judaism, there's like all these different directions that you have to follow, as I just mentioned, in in like the Hindu scriptures.
Speaker 1:There's like certain ways you have to eat, there's certain diets. There's like like, for example, you guys know that uh, both, actually, uh, muslims and Jews you're not really supposed to eat pork, right? You're you're supposed to avoid like pork, like bacon, certain like types of food. The reason, um, I mean, I guess there's various interpretations. My interpretation is that some foods just take you out of alignment, like your body wasn't meant to process certain foods, and they take you out of alignment if you really notice how you feel after you eat them. So, obviously, everyone's body is different and different foods react differently.
Speaker 1:But in general, you know, if you're just pounding sugar, then and you're pounding like bacon and stuff and heavy carb loaded foods and sugar and stuff, you're going to be out of alignment, okay, and so, similarly, like with with you know, with like being in alignment in terms of you know, your, your, uh, prayer and meditation routine. If you're skipping time, devoting time to the like creator, all loving, all knowing, all powerful creator of the universe, then you're, you're basically cheating yourself out of alignment. You have to, you have to devote that time in meditation and in prayer. You have to, you have to devote that time in meditation and in prayer and if you skip it then God will skip out on you. Okay, and so I think I've, I think I've been like pretty clear about like what alignment actually is and how to know if you're in it, and I think I've been pretty clear about like what it isn't.
Speaker 1:Um, I guess like a little bit further on that. I guess like a little bit further on that, like, when you, when you're not in alignment, you just nothing works, you're down. Everything is a fight. There's a lot of fear. Fear is like the number one thing, right, like fear is like the number one thing of misalignment and it can be hard to climb out of. It can be hard and and I often feel like when I'm in like cause, sometimes I zip in and out of this like be hard and and I often feel like when I'm in like cause, sometimes I zip in and out of this, like right now, I'm definitely in like a super high vibration energy, but, like yesterday, I actually had, um, a couple hours where I just felt kind of down and I felt like I just felt misaligned and I realized it was because of something that I actually, like failed to do.
Speaker 1:But the thing is and in a Hindu scriptures they call these samskaras. These are, like you know, something happens like you see a rattlesnake and then the next day, like you see a rope and you think it's a rattlesnake, you get all scared. So you keep like replaying these negative things that you did or didn't do in your mind and it drags you down. And so the way to release this and to get out of this kind of energy, um, well, for, like, on firsthand, you realize that this is kind of like your karma. This is this is what, like, the Hindus talk about with karma. There You're basically like this energy is kind of like a looping you and punishing you in a way, and you're just kind of feeding it over and over and over and reliving things that are that are, um, you know, hurtful to you. You're just reliving it over and over, and so the only way to like truth, truly let them go is to breathe in, focus on the, the, the mental dark loop, whatever it is that you're looping on and then you release and this is what this is what Christ was talking about, in my opinion as well.
Speaker 1:As far as like forgiveness, like and repenting for your sins, like if you know you did something bad or you did something you weren't supposed to do or you failed to do something that you should have done, and you're looping on it and you're just focusing on this like thing that you can't get over and over and over. That is where you can just have a moment where you just pray to God, whatever, all knowing, all powerful, all good, universe, universal energy source, creator, allah, I don't know, jesus, figure, whatever it is that comes to mind for you, and you just surrender it and you say please, you know, please forgive me, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you for your forgiveness you relax, you breathe into it and you let it go and you move on, and this is a constant cycle. This is why, like you know, forgiveness and repenting, like repenting daily, is so important, or else you just end up in this cycle of karmic samskaras, karmic loops of negativity, and you have to just continuously. The spiritual practice daily is just continuously letting go, continuously repenting, continuously feeling like letting go and surrendering, and so this is obviously like a super crucial key process. And now, once you start doing this more and more and more every day, it becomes more of a habit and you hold on to less junk within you. You hold on to less junk within you, and so the the less you hold on to, the more light you feel, the more you're able to free associate, the less you care about what people think, the less you care about consequences.
Speaker 1:Can you, can you recall a moment where you really felt like this in your life, where you felt totally free, where you know, and sometimes here's an important thing Like you might feel this in certain circumstances, but that's because your entire energy system is only wired to feel this way under certain occasions, and so what you want to do is you want to feel like this all day. You want to feel like this all the time. Now, imagine if you could feel like this all the time. What would that be like? And as I record this, I'm pulling into the ocean to record as I look out at the ocean. It's absolutely beautiful, gorgeous. But recall a time when you did that. Now, imagine if you could feel that way every moment of the day. And this is possible. And this is what, like the great enlightened teachers, you know, and spiritual kind of guides throughout the ages, have connected to this flow of alignment, this flow of God which is always there and is waiting for you to be obedient to the flow, to let go, to be in the moment, right To Eckhart Tolle, to be in the moment.
Speaker 1:And so the question is why do so many creators, why do so many creative people fall into the trap of misalignment? Right, why is that? Why do you, listening, fall into this trap? Why do you forget to let go? Well, honestly, like one of the main things? You just forget that it's possible, like you're in this loop, and you forget that you can escape the loop. But it is possible.
Speaker 1:It can take work, and sometimes it requires you to take action. That's uncomfortable, you know. Sometimes it might require you to end a relationship that isn't working, to stand up for your values, to stand up for your standards and tell someone that this business partnership is not going how I expected, and to cut ties, even if it means cutting safety, and this is hard. So people one, forget, but two, sometimes they're just not willing to do what's required, even though they know in their heart what they're being told to do. And this is something that I've personally struggled with a lot. So I'm by no means like a perfect being in any regard at all, and I mean, I guess, like we could argue that my essence is perfect, your essence is perfect, but ultimately, like in the form of karma, of wherever I'm at in life, I have a lot of work to do and I'm just sharing lessons along the way.
Speaker 1:But the next question to ask, the next question to ask, is what do you do when you like? What do you actually do, step by step, when you're feeling misalignment and you want to get to this aligned center, right, what do you actually do? Well, I've outlined it pretty clearly, but I'm going to do it one more time just so you can kind of really connect to this. So the first thing you do is you identify where in your physical body you feel the constriction, ok, like sometimes, often in your gut, in your chest, where you just feel like this is, this is off, this is way off. And when you, when you connect to that, you connect to that feeling, you connect to that emotion, where you, feeling off that feeling in your chest, you focus on it, you can acknowledge, like the higher power, whatever it might be, that you want to connect to Jesus, allah, whatever it is for you, and you focus on that, you focus on that high power, and then you breathe in and you release it.
Speaker 1:Now, as you start to kind of dive into this, this feeling and this emotion, things may come up, certain actions that you might feel you have to take, that are going to be uncomfortable, and then what you have to do ultimately is you just have to do it. You have to cut the strings, and this is hard, but this is what you're you're ultimately like having to do now, often, and sometimes, it's not about the actual actions that you have to take externally. Sometimes, and most often, it might actually just be internally letting go of circumstances that bother you so that nothing outside of you bothers you, but at the same time, that doesn't mean staying in situations that continuously are causing misalignment within you, right? So how does being in alignment help you create better?
Speaker 1:Well, obviously, when you're in like a totally free, free, associating, nonjudgmental, high energy, flow of energy you're able to, just, you're basically able to tap into like frequencies of thoughts and visions and ideas that are floating out in the ether for people to just like pick up on. But most people just don't don't pick up on them. So you're just able to like, you just get into this like energy state and things just flow. Things are easy, things are lighter, you're able to spot solutions to problems more easily and you're able to do all of this from a place of just lightness. Nothing feels forced, you're just going. You're literally like going with the flow.
Speaker 1:And so when you're like, when you're in this state and you're working on, you know creating, sometimes you know you can be in like an aligned state and maybe the resistance that you feel that's causing misalignment is even just starting in the first place. Right, like, maybe you're a writer and you feel like it's time to start writing, but you're like, ah, I don't know that, I don't, I don't really want to write, I don't really have any good ideas right now. I don't know what to say. Well, sometimes the best way to get into alignment is just to start. Sometimes the best way to get into alignment is just to start If you feel like there's nothing else in your life that's stopping you from you know being aligned, except starting. Then maybe that's step one, and what I've found is that, even if maybe the first hour, the first 20 minutes, 30 minutes are horrible, eventually you hit the flow.
Speaker 1:Eventually, what happens is you realize that the that that God is basically testing you to see. Are you going to step in to this, this version of you that just creates, regardless of whether the flow is there, regardless of whether you feel the emotion. And that's when in you know, like books like the War of Art by Steven Pressfield Steven Pressfield talks about you know the difference of professionals and amateurs. And amateurs only create when they feel inspired, they only create when they feel aligned. But professionals, they create regardless of how they feel. And often what happens and this is what I found and I always kind of look back at when I was starting my YouTube channel, like about a decade ago, and I was just creating videos every day, regardless of how I felt, regardless of how I felt, I would start recording, turn the camera on, start talking and eventually I would hit a flow state.
Speaker 1:And I think this is applicable to so many things. It's applicable to the gym. Maybe you don't feel like going to the gym. But if you just start, if you just go and you show up, and then you're there and then it just creates this momentum, this forward-stringing momentum, this streak of energy that ultimately attracts more and more high-vibration energy. And that's another thing. When you're in high-vibration energy, it amounts, it, just it amounts it, it attracts, it magnifies more and more hybrid high vibration energy and pretty soon you're just in this upward spiral vortex where everything you're doing is just creating and attracting massive high frequency energy. And so that's like another hack, to like that that I've always, you know, remembered as I go, throughout my days, of focusing on these principles of alignment, creation and connection. And it's that when you, just when you, when you do your best to stay aligned and then you do your best to create, regardless of whether the inspiration hits, well, then eventually you just realize that, okay, I actually don't need to feel a certain way to create.
Speaker 1:Now, obviously, as you start creating and you do end up hitting that mode of flow, state of alignment, you, you tend to, you tend to hit like a totally different frequency, like every, you almost feel like, if you ever watched juice world, the rapper freestyle is one of my favorite rappers you know at least freestylers to just watch because you could tell maybe it was drug induced. Obviously it was like a whole lot of practice as well, but he would be able to freestyle entire songs front to back. And if you've seen someone who's put in like thousands of hours into their craft, you've seen that they've been able to do this. Where they're able to just tap into that frequency, and God basically just like powers them and fuels them. And when you're actually in that state of alignment, you almost feel like, uh, like you feel like you feel like more powerful than like any AI, like any chat GPT model that could exist. You're just like pulling synchronicities and genius insights down from the ether and organizing them in like the perfect way and whatever craft it is Maybe maybe you're a developer and you've been coding for years and years and and ultimately, like you find yourself at a place where you sit down to solve a problem and it's like you're just like you're in one of those movie scenes where it's showing you and like your brain is operating in like 10 different speeds and you're able to find the answers faster than if you were to look them up, like they just come to you. That's the state of alignment. That's the state where you want to be at on a daily basis as much as possible. Right, there's a Steve Aoki quote that I love. That goes find what makes you happy and stay there as long as you can.
Speaker 1:And what I've found is that often when you're in a mode of creation, that's typically where you find the deepest amount of happiness, because and you know who else talks about this is what's his name the author of Power Versus Force, dr David Hawkins is his name. Dr David Hawkins. He talks about the different levels of energy, and around like the 500 range level of energy is a creation phase, and below that is, like you know, thinking and strategizing and planning, and that's like around, I think, 300, anything below 200 is considered low vibration, anything above 200 is considered high vibration, and so you really want to think about this, and I think, if you're in a relationship and I'm kind of I'm in a relationship right now this is something that my girlfriend and I are talking about a lot is like how to spot the differences between high vibration and low vibration energy, and like what is considered high vibe and like taking you upward in an upward spiral and what is taking you down in a downward spiral. And this is, this is like something that's super interesting. I'm actually gonna, you know well, actually I was about to use GPT, but since I'm in a flow state, I don't think I need to. I think I can just use my, my flow state to to kind of remember this. But okay, so there's, it's very, very clear when you hit alignment that you can access, like, if you, if you ever, ok, so. So Frederick Dodson kind of quantified this in a book called the Levels of Energy, and then Dr David Hawkins wrote a book called Power Versus Force where he kind of quantified this as well. And the idea right is that you can very viscerally feel okay when you're in a low vibe state versus a high vibe, and I'll get to that like 500 plus range in a moment. But in the, in the lower stages, right, the lower stages you're taught we're talking about procrastination, anything below zero, from zero to 1000, anything below 200. We're talking about procrastination, anger, insecurity. We're talking about procrastination, anger, insecurity, sadness, grief Although I actually might argue that sadness could be higher vibration in certain levels of sadness, because some sadness you like, you're purging, you're, you know it's not necessarily taking you down.
Speaker 1:It's like there's a higher level of sadness, like apathy, obviously, depression, um, uh, shame is a hugely high vibration, uh, low vibration, um, emotion, shame is one of the lowest that there is. And so shame, um, you know, the more that you, you, you feel that it literally just sucks everything down and sometimes it can mask. You can have like shame as your base vibration, but it's masked as like you're trying to make yourself look good and feel good to other people, but in reality, you're just putting up all these like walls around how you actually feel, which is shame. And this is something that I personally dealt with for a long time.
Speaker 1:I had like some deep insecurities around women and around, like you know, to be completely blunt, like insecurities around women and around, like you know to be completely blunt, like well, actually, I don't want to go too far there, but I, you know, I felt a lot of, um, I felt a lot of shame around, just like how I'd been like rejected by women. You know, I think a lot of guys go through this. Every guy goes through like somewhat of a similar arc, but I felt this and, um, you know, it's obviously like super frustrating. You know you really want love. You know you want a woman that loves you but for whatever reason, like, they just keep leaving you for different guys or cheating on you, or you know, they talk to you for a little bit and then they leave and they go to someone else and it's just so confusing about why they would do this.
Speaker 1:And ultimately, what I found is like this can this can build shame. You can feel really bad about yourself as a guy, and maybe this happens for women too, you know, and maybe women they're just used to getting rejected and rejected by guys, and so what's what happens is they start to try to overcompensate and as men, often what what men will do is they'll try to overcompensate by saying, you know, they don't even really like women, and then they kind of become a fuck boy and they become overly focused on material gain and money and success and material things that cover up how they actually feel on the inside, and then eventually they get kind of tired of feeling shame all the time and they have to kind of come full circle, open their heart again and make themselves vulnerable to a real relationship, which at that time maybe they have enough surface level confidence to where they have money, they have success, they're attracting women and the women are staying with them because, well, ultimately they've kind of become more of an attractive guy because they've built resources and everything, but they've also built character. But then what they realize is that even with all of that, you can lose it all. So ultimately, you kind of want to be with someone that doesn't all of that you can lose it all and so ultimately, you kind of want to be with someone that doesn't care about how much you have. Maybe they care about your capacity to create the life that they that you want, but ultimately they care about your soul. They care about, they care about you as a person and where you want to go. They care about your vision.
Speaker 1:And so you know, this is something where you know you're raising up an energy like. You start off low, you start off in like like shame and guilt and fear, and then you raise up and you get to like levels of acceptance and reason and logic and hard work and grinding and and and being productive, and then ultimately you raise up higher and higher and and you get to like. You get to levels of like the I think around 400 level is like uh, gratitude, right, you're just kind of grateful for what is, and you're, you're in modes of like you're, you're in modes of just like, wow, like I'm really grateful that you know, I have a roof over my head, I'm able to listen to this podcast with this Arlen guy. I'm able to, you know, I'm able to just, I'm able to just like be grateful and I don't have to do too much. I'm going to do things still, of course, because I have, like you know, things that I feel are on my heart and in my mission to do, but ultimately, you just feel a lot more grounded in gratitude and beyond that, and this is where we get to like alignment, creating from alignment, you get to a place of, you get to a place of just creation, okay, and that. This is a place where, like, the musician is making music, the podcasters actually speaking, the podcast, the coder is coding, the businessman is making deals right. This is like the flow state, this is like the level 500, where you want to be as much as possible. This is the Steve Aoki quote Find what makes you happy, find what you can create that makes you happy, and stay there as long as you possibly can. And this is where you want to be right. This is the place Now, obviously, there's higher levels to this. You know, the great ones were just in total samadhi, total enlightenment, total super consciousness, where they were not only experiencing the creation of their own human, individual level, but they're experiencing the cosmic creation. They're experiencing birds flapping their wings in the ocean crashing and God breathing life into every soul in the universe. See, there's greater and greater levels to this that, like when you rise up and you become more and more kind of closer to God, god is the all, god is everything. God is not just in your confined three-dimensional body. God is not just in your confined three-dimensional body.
Speaker 1:There's a quote from a story about Paramahansa Yogananda. You know who's a mentor, guru to me, who wrote the autobiography of a yogi who came to the United States to basically merge Eastern and Western religion and philosophies. And Yogananda was writing or sorry, he had these disciples right, and one of the disciples, this woman that was following. She had, you know, been following for a while and she was in the United States and she wanted to go explore. And so she went on a road trip and she was writing letters to Yogananda. And you know, she went to Yellowstone, she went to New York City and he was in California, probably around like the lake shrine, pacific Palisades or maybe, uh, the Encinitas location near San Diego, and she was away for a few weeks and when she came back she saw master. She saw Yogananda and he was very displeased with her and he said look at the letters you wrote me and and she pulled them up and they're looking at the letters and they're reading them and they're very beautiful letters, you know she's reflecting on all the beautiful things she saw and how she was so happy.
Speaker 1:But Yogananda pointed out, even though it wasn't written, the frequency of the letters he could feel it when she was away, that she was saying that she felt homesick, that she actually felt sad, and but she didn't write it. And so he said to her how dare you confine me to a single point in time and space? And so the you know, the greatest, highest level, high vibration masters can actually feel across the ether. Now you probably feel this as well, especially if you're, if you love someone, you know you can actually love, like you can kind of feel someone's heart, you can kind of feel how they're feeling, even if you're not with them, even if people die, you know you might have loved ones, grandparents, you know, uh, you know, god bless anyone that you've ever lost. But you might be able to tap into them, you might be able to tap into their energy, and just because they're not in the physical body doesn't mean that there's. The essence of their soul is not able to communicate with you through across time and space, and so that's what it looks like when you get higher and higher and higher along along the uh frequency, you know you get. You get to places where you can really sense. You can sense and feel beyond, beyond. Right, you can sense and feel beyond, and you know, true, like super God.
Speaker 1:Consciousness, which Yogananda has talked about, is really when you know you can feel like everything all at once. And if people you know, you know anyone that's been in like a DMT trip, they, you can kind of like take the frog venom and for some reason it activates a DMT in your brain and you can at least simulate this. I don't know if you're like actually doing it, but at least feels like that. Um, but of course, this can also be achieved through meditation, and so this is why meditation every day is important, but also it's why you know, getting to places where you're creating from your heart's mission and you're doing what. You're being as obedient as possible as far as like what you know that you're supposed to be doing and creating on a daily basis. And so this is, this is really the thing, this is the secret, this is the key, and this is why creating from alignment hits different. It's very simple Creating from alignment hits different because you are overcoming karma, you're overcoming the things which God wants you to do and you're doing them, and by doing them, you're releasing things that are binding you to this simple time and space that we're in right here in this human body. The more that you transcend a through meditation and B through actually, you know, following the directions that are basically put upon your soul to do here, on this plane, here in this physical reality, this plane, here in this physical reality, you're able to A create more. You're able to B release karma. Right, release. You know basically what I mean by that is okay.
Speaker 1:Let's say you have a to-do list and you just ignore it. How do you feel at the end of the day? You feel heavy. You feel like, ah, I've skipped it again. You start to feel overwhelmed.
Speaker 1:Well, if you're quiet enough if you're, if you're tuning into God on a daily basis and you know what you're supposed to do and you're listening to that calling. You're actually doing it day after day after day. Imagine how you start to feel. Imagine how much lighter you start to feel. Imagine how much easier creation gets right. You're just, you're just unleashing and letting go of all of this stuff that you feel needs to be done.
Speaker 1:Right, and don't get confused. You can't just like meditate in a cave. Like you, you part of the spiritual path is actually doing things, doing what's put on your soul uniquely you, to add to this creation that we're in, and so that's ultimately how being in alignment affects creation and makes it better and makes this whole creation that you're in better, and so, if this resonated with you, I would encourage you to go over to 8amappcom and apply. If you've listened this far, you're probably a good fit for the community that we're building. You're probably interested in topics and hopefully this gasses you up. I'm gonna be doing a ton more of these as I practice letting go of my own karma and working out this methodology and this philosophy as I free flow through it and, yeah, I hope this powered you up If it did send me a message on Instagram because there's.
