What is a Vaporizer?
Hello and welcome back to another episode of the All Around Growth Podcast. My name is Rob Kaiser and I am your host. Today is Friday, February 11th, 2022. This is episode number 283 of a show that provides insight and tools to building the life and homestead of your dreams. And today we are going to do neither of those things. We're going to talk about something that I don't know. Isn't the easiest thing to talk about? Tobacco withdrawal. Day one. So let's just get right into it. No tobacco. This is the first day, and we've got a another beautiful cotton candy sunrise joining us down the driveway. Thinking to myself, I'm leaving earlier this morning. I don't know. I'm not. I'm just living a life out of balance. Driving somewhere. Because I'm employed by someone. Time is a construct, and this is just a natural thing to observe the sunrise and live a life in line with our own natural circadian rhythms. But anyways, before I go too far down the philosophy road, you know, as far as this whole dance with tobacco, I feel like I've been been here a hundred hundreds of times before, and it's because I have. And I've thought about this before, you know, as I as I've pondered my own challenges with what seems to be tobacco addiction more so than simply nicotine addiction. While I understand nicotine is the addictive chemical compound within tobacco, it's it's the tobacco itself, everything that goes along with it. And for me, it's the smoking. And I also understand, or at least my understanding of smoking, you know, and what made that such a difficult process was that the delivery of the nicotine into our system through our lungs, when smoked, you know, is so rapid yet shortlasting, but gives us the desired result more faster, quicker. Right? And I mean this this this idea of just like smoking and the differences in how we are taking as smokers how we are taking in the tobacco into our bodies versus people who who chew. Right. So this this didn't really dawn on me though until just yesterday when I watched like a two-minute short video from DynaVap. And I'll link to this in the show notes because Dynavapor is a cool little battery-free vaporizer device. Um in in this video, the owner George, and if you if you you know if you watch this, you'll see why I'm a big fan. I I like George. I I'm I'm just I support the products, and I I'm actually at a point where I want to include the I want to become a reseller of Dynavap devices. I just I I think they are that big of like I I whatever. I'm a big fan, I support them, I highly suggest checking them out. But in this little short video, George was explaining the mechanics of botanical vapor like vaporization and how this differs from the smoking, like we've been talking about. And so what George says, and I'll do my best to imitate his voice because he's an engineer and he's like many engineers, he's wired a little bit differently than the rest of us. So without further ado, smoking is putting typically a botanical into a device, pipe, whatever you might have on hand, lighting it on fire, and inhaling the smoke as well as all the combustion byproducts and incomplete combustion byproducts. Alright, so in case you didn't get the full impact, I'm gonna see if I can repeat that with some emphasis. Smoking is putting typically a botanical into a device, pipe, whatever you might have on hand, lighting it on fire and inhaling the smoke as well as all the combustion byproducts and incomplete combustion byproducts. So when we have uh okay, I'm I'm I'm not even gonna just just just think about that. While I've been struggling, right, with with this tobacco decision recently, especially especially in light of some recent life on life's terms events, uh, you know, and and the fact that I've turned back to smoking just as a as a coping mechanism. You know, again, smoking is lighting it on fire, inhaling the smoke, and byproducts. This cannot be good for us in the long term. And at this point in time, on this February 10th or whatever the hell day it is now, I don't know. I am I find myself at the age of 44. And I have been I I have been dealing with this whole uh tobacco back and forth for 30 years. It will be, you know, this year it will be three decades of on and off tobacco usage in some way, shape, or form with periods of years thrown in there where I did not. But this is not the case right now, and today I struggle with beginning the hard withdrawal process. So what do we do? What are we doing? Like, how am I going about quitting smoking? And am I serious this time? There's nothing to gain. There's nothing to gain from smoking tobacco. There's and and the only real enjoyment I had from using tobacco was smoking tobacco. You know, so the the the the long and short of it is how I stopped the last time in 2019 was with the uh with the nicotine gum. And that's how I'm gonna do it now. I'm just gonna I'm just going to do it. But it's weird. I have I have strange, you know, I have strange uh this this gum impacts my my mouth. It you know, it it uh there there are some side effects with using these these nicotine products. So there's just no real value in any of this shit in my life. And you know, chewing tobacco, just just it's no good. I I I yeah, I this is going to be one of the many changes that I begin making in life. I will continue to talk about them here as time goes on, and one other thing I'm gonna talk about as time goes on is you know my finances, my return to Financial Peace University, and my return to extraneous expenses, or my return to the elimination of these extraneous expenses that make it difficult for me to lump some pay off some of the medical bills I have, lump some, you know, get my goddamn truck repaired so that I don't get pulled over by the cops for stupid things like having expired plates because the check engine light has been on in my truck forever. And instead of getting it addressed properly and correctly, I continue to try doing bullshit like I'm going to do today by going into work, hooking up the machine to my truck with the mechanic to clear the codes and drive it around for a bit so that when I take next week off, I can hopefully go get the fucking e-check and you know move on with my life because my truck isn't old enough quite yet to not have to get the e-check. I don't know what year that is or how old it has to be in order for it not to be uh you know, fucking stupid laws, man. You know, thank God I see the gasden flag on the last home stretch of my trip to the day job. Because when the time comes when I'm no longer driving here as a place of employee I'll be looking at that fucking thing every goddamn day for as long as possible. And just for shits and grins and to annoy people, I ought to get a freaking rainbow gasden flag. Because you know what? Flags. Whatever. Go worship whatever you want to worship. Oh man, he's on a tear this morning. I don't know, guys. That's what happens when you get to a point where you are a fucking junkie, and you need, and you realize that it's time to change your ways. You get a little edgy. So hopefully, I got this out of my system for today, sharing it with you, talking a bunch of shit, and uh hopefully I don't take this out on too many other people, and hopefully this edginess dissipates over the next few days, week, while I'm away from here, readjusting, and uh I don't know. Stay tuned, guys. Not every day is going to be an update on the process of my uh tobacco withdrawal, or the elimination of tobacco from my life, but as much as I love it, and as much as you know, I love the fine shag tobaccos and smoking a pipe and all the different pipe tobaccos, and it's it's you know, it's not, it's just I don't know. I might change my mind because quite frankly, it is enjoyable, and we only live once. So what the fuck, why not smoke? If it, you know, why why have this internal battle? I don't know. It's just gonna be another thing to question for me and for the people in my life around me that oftentimes wonder why I choose the struggles that I do instead of simply taking the easy road. Like them and everyone else. Because I'm not them and everyone else, and neither are you. We're different. You know what I'm talking about. If this resonates, join us over at t.me slash allaround growth. Talk about it more and whatever else is going on in your life. Guys, that's it for today. Happy Friday. Next week is uncertain with regard to the show and how I'm going to proceed because I'm taking the week off. However, I will most likely have gotten out there. Have a great weekend. This is Robin Hashtag. Thank you.
