Redeeming Love Bible Broadcast
Faithful (LIVE)
God’s faithfulness isn’t distant—it’s personal, passionate, and steady through every generation. In this episode, we look at three moments in Scripture that reveal just how seriously He takes His promises.
John the Baptist’s cry—“Behold, the Lamb of God!”—wasn’t just excitement; it was the fulfillment of centuries of longing. Jesus’ clear words about His own betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection weren’t guesses but a roadmap He followed with love and resolve. And John 3:16 becomes more than a verse we’ve memorized, it becomes God’s personal promise spoken over you.
The story of redemption is not abstract. It’s God keeping His word with affection, with action, and with a commitment that cannot fail. Whether you’ve walked with Christ for years or are still wrestling with His invitation, His promises still stand, and His faithfulness reaches you today.
NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

I want to have everyone here who's here with us in the house and thank you for those of you who are listening online, through social media, through radio, through however you're listening to this. The last three weeks we've seen new person after new person, new listener, new watcher, new viewer, and 68 nations now. Glory to God for that. It's been a steady growth over these past three weeks and we're thankful to the Lord for that. And you're also a part of that. Humanly speaking, you're the folks who find us, you're the folks who click on us, you're the folks who like us, you're the folks that share us and once you know you're being used of the Lord in that and we don't forget you. We pray for you. Reach out to us through the website, reach out to us through phone, through email, directly through the social media, send us a letter, whatever you need to do, but we look forward to hearing from you and thank you for being with us. Thank you for helping us reach folks around the world. And amen. Now we'll be in three different places in the scripture tonight, so you'll get some exercise back there, amen. And I'll start with. I will be in John, chapter one, but I want you to keep this one verse from Psalms, psalm 89.1, in mind, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever. With my mouth will I make known my faithfulness to all generations, and that's what I want to do tonight Make known the faithfulness of God to all generations. That's not just a few, that's every single solitary generation, from the first one all the way down to us tonight, all the way down to everyone in this room, all the way down to everyone listening around the world. Make known the faithfulness of God to all generations. God actually performs his word. He truly performs his word Without fail. He performs his covenants, he performs his promises and he performs it with a passion. He's not lackadaisical about it, he's not half-hearted about it, he's not grudging about it, but he is passionate about performing what he says. He is holy, he sees everything through and he does it with affection. God is love, my friend, and affection is love in action. And so every time that God performs his promises, he doesn't just say them, oh, he does say them, and hallelujah for that. But oh, every time he says something, you start looking forward to seeing how he's going to bring it to pass, because he always does. And we're going to see that in three different places in the Scripture tonight. And the first one, john, chapter 1. And I'd like to start at verse 29,. If I could, hallelujah, john, chapter 1, verse 29. The next day, john seeth Jesus coming to him. Oh, and just stop right there, john the Baptist, my friend. The next day, john seeth Jesus coming to him. Just stop right there, john the Baptist, my friend. I believe he's the last Old Testament prophet.
Speaker 1:And earlier in this chapter, the Gospel of John makes a particular point of telling us that John the Baptist was a man sent from God. God specifically sent John the Baptist. He sent him to fulfill what we know as Isaiah 40 today. John had a particular thing to do. God didn't just send him to send him. He had things to say and things to do. He was a witness to Jesus.
Speaker 1:Scripture tells us that as well. He was a witness. He pointed people to Jesus. He said I'm not the Christ, I'm not the Messiah, but he is coming right after me. He is standing among you right now, israel. You don't know him, but he's among you and he is greater than I am. He is more than I am. He was before me. He's the son of God, he's the Messiah, and I'm here to be a voice crying in the wilderness preparing the way. God is faithful. God had promised that. He had promised that for generations, for generations.
Speaker 1:I wonder what was going through Isaiah's mind when he first preached that. I wonder what was going through his mind when he wrote it down. He got it directly from God and I wonder the excitement, the excitement that was in these men, the excitement that was in John the Baptist, the excitement they got a word from God, they got a promise from God and he's going to fulfill it. He's going to do it. Isaiah didn't see it with his eyes in his lifetime but, bless God, I believe in the spirit.
Speaker 1:He saw down the line through time and through history to that day when not only John the Baptist would come, but this very day, here, the next day, john sees Jesus. He's in the wilderness, he's baptizing, he's preaching, he's fulfilling his ministry. And one day he probably saw him, far off first, and he got closer and he got closer and he got closer and the out came from John behold the Lamb of God. And out came from John. Behold the Lamb of God, behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. John saw Jesus. Oh, that's a special day, my friend, whenever you actually see God beginning to fulfill a promise right in front of you. Oh, and John had been a part of it.
Speaker 1:But now there is the Lamb of God. There's the fulfillment walking, talking, living, breathing of the Passover those Passover lambs that were slain in old Egypt and the blood that was put around the door and that feast which had been kept. Here's the walking, talking fulfillment of all of that and all of the law. Here he is and he's the lamb of God. Oh, and he's here to do something. He's here to take away the sin of the world. Oh, it's only a few words. Oh, what does it say? What does it say? What does it say? Jesus is coming to completely carry away every part of the world's sin, the sin of the entire world, the sin of every man, woman and child, the curse that creation is under. The sin is all here to be taken away, and John can't help but be a little excited. There he is. He's getting ready to take away my sin. He's getting ready to take away your sin. He's getting ready. This is him.
Speaker 1:I told you about him. You know, you saw and you were baptized with water, but this is the one he's going to baptize you with fire. This is the one who's going to baptize you with the Holy Ghost. This is the one who's going to take away your sin. It's not me, it's him. He's the one I've been telling you about and he's here and he's here, and he's here telling you about, and he's here and he's here and he's here. Do you hear the excitement in his voice? This is he of whom I said after me, cometh a man, which is preferred before me, for he was before me and I knew him not, but that he should be made manifest to israel. Therefore, I am to Israel. Therefore, I am come baptizing with water.
Speaker 1:And John bare record said I saw the Spirit. How excited do you get when you see God moving? How excited do you get when you read these old testimonies? See, this is an old testimony. Now, what's your testimony? This is John the Baptist testimony. This is John the Baptist. What's yours? He said I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. It stayed upon him. It didn't just come upon him and leave, it stayed. The Holy Spirit stayed upon him and I knew him not, but he that sent me to baptize his father. The same said to me, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost. And I saw and bear record that this is the Son of God. This is Him. All Israel has been waiting for generations with bated breath for that moment. The Son of God is here, the faithfulness of God expressed.
Speaker 1:God didn't lie to Jeremiah. God didn't lie to Jeremiah. God didn't lie to Isaiah. God didn't lie to Ezekiel. God didn't lie to Micah. God didn't lie to Amos. God didn't lie to Malachi. God didn't lie to any of these men. He followed through. And this was just the beginning. This was just the beginning. See, jesus would go for about three years ministering and ministering and ministering. And come on over to Luke with me for just a moment. Oh rather, matthew, my friend Matthew, matthew, chapter 20, verse 17.
Speaker 1:A few years went by and now Jesus was getting ready to go to Jerusalem for the final time. He said Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the 12 disciples apart. This was a close meeting. He took them apart in the way while they were walking there, and he said to them Behold, look at this. Behold, we go up to Jerusalem and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge, and shall crucify him. And on the third day he shall rise again. See, jesus knew exactly what would happen and he spelled it out clearly right here. He was going to go to Jerusalem. He would be betrayed, specifically into the hands of the Jews, by Judas, to the chief priests, to the scribes. They would have a trial. After that trial, they would falsely accuse him and they would come to a false conclusion. After that trial, they would send him to Herod. They would come to a false conclusion. After that trial, they would send him to Herod.
Speaker 1:Herod was a man who just wanted to. He was a sensational sort of man. He just wanted to sort of see if Jesus would do a miracle. Then he sent him back and then, eventually, he went to Pilate, delivered to the Gentiles, rome specifically. And what would the Gentiles do? They would mock him, they would scourge him and they would crucify him. But on the third day, hallelujah, he shall rise again. He shall rise again.
Speaker 1:My friends, this is God's faithfulness, god's faithful to himself and God's faithful to his church. And, my friend, god is faithful to the lost. If you're listening to this and you're lost tonight, god is faithful to you. God made a promise through Jesus that for Jew and Gentile alike, he was going to take away the sin of the whole world, and that includes yours. This is how it was to be done. See, jesus did not go to Jerusalem dragging his feet. He didn't go sort of grumbling on the inside about what he had to do. It was hard enough. I mean, we see, garden of Gethsemane. Jesus himself wept. And Jesus said oh Father, if it's possible, let this cup be taken from me.
Speaker 1:He knew what was about to happen. He knew that the Lamb of God had to shed his blood, just like all those Passover lambs, just like all the bulls and the rams and the goats and the turtle doves. Under the law, blood, blood, blood, blood. Why? There can be no remission of sin without blood. There can be no forgiving of sin without blood. Sin demands a price, and that price is death. Now, what God was doing was providing his own lamb. What God was doing was providing his own blood.
Speaker 1:You see, my friend, someone's blood will answer for your sin. Someone's blood is going to answer for it. Someone's death is going to answer for it, someone's destruction is going to answer for it, and it's the will of God for you tonight that it be the blood of Jesus. It's the will of God for you particularly that the blood that Jesus, god for you, particularly that the blood that Jesus shed for you should answer for your sin and he'd be faithful and just to forgive you. See, god's the only one who can really forgive and forget. He forgives you and it's like your sin never happened. He forgives you and he casts's, like your sin never happened. He forgives you and he casts it into the depths of the sea. He forgives you and he separates it from you as far as east is from the west. This is how he did it.
Speaker 1:Oh, the Son of man would be betrayed. The Son of man would be rejected, largely by Israel. I say largely because there were a few who believed on him. But it was a precious remnant, it was a precious small remnant. The chief priests and the scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducees, they whipped the people up. They said crucify him, crucify him, crucify him.
Speaker 1:This all fulfilled Isaiah 53. It's fulfilled so many of the prophets, even their lives, their ministries, because these men. They lived hard lives. They had a precious relationship with God, but, humanly, so many were rejected, so many were despised. So many were rejected, so many were despised, so many were even executed. And it all looked forward to Jesus, because God himself would experience that.
Speaker 1:And then he would be turned over to Rome and he would die a Roman death. He would die on a cross. He would die on a cross. He would die an excruciating public death. He would die a humiliating death. He would die a death that people considered a sport to watch.
Speaker 1:He would be mocked and scourged and went through it. He was scourged and went through it. He was scourged. He was beaten, probably with a whip embedded with metal, glass and rock, maybe even pottery, to tear the skin. And they would take his clothes from him and put a scarlet robe on him to tear the skin. And they would take his clothes from him and put a scarlet robe on him and weave together a crown. Thorns, thorns were long, long things. And they would bow the knee to him, but not in faith. They would bow the knee to him but not in love. They would bow the knee to him but not in love. They would bow the knee to him in mockery Saying yo, you're the king of the Jews. They would take a reed that they gave him and beat him with it, and then they would assign him a cross and he would bear it all the way through the streets. Sign him a cross, and he would bear it all the way through the streets.
Speaker 1:And, oh, when they crucified him, that wasn't the end, my friend. You see, your sin had to be laid on him. Your sin had to be applied to him. The way you live your life apart from God, the way you function, the way you act, the way you respond, entirely apart from God, whether it's good old American morality, whether it's political liberalism, whether it's some form of religion that you have, or whether it's just real, explicit rough lust and hatred and murder and lying and deceiving, it all comes out because you're apart from God. And he had to take that sin and lay it on his son. See, jesus didn't have any sin of his own, but he took yours upon himself and they crucified him there and there. What must it have been like to see the blood running to the ground. What must it have been like to see him and to hear him?
Speaker 1:This is God's passionate fulfillment of a promise. This is God experiencing things that God never experienced Sin and separation and death. All for you, because he loves you. This is affection, this is love in action. This is God looking at you and saying why should you die? I don't want you to die, I want you to be born again, I want you to be forgiven, I want you to be saved, I want you to be with me. I don't want to see you cast into hell, and so you can't do a thing about it, but I can do everything about it.
Speaker 1:And so God stepped in, Said there had to be blood, so I'll bring my own. There had to be a death, and so I'll supply the life and the death, and my only begotten son is going to be the one to do it. But I'm not going to stay dead. I'm going to do this once, and I'm going to do this for you, because, oh, jesus knew what it was about. Oh, god knew what it was about. The Holy Ghost himself knew what it was about. They knew the pain, they knew the separation Three in one and one in three. This couldn't happen without affecting the heart of the Father. This couldn't happen without affecting the Holy Ghost. This couldn't happen. And so he died in his perfect, stainless blood. See, it covered the cross that day, but now it covers you. Now it covers you Because God was pleased. Hallelujah. The Father was pleased, hallelujah. The Holy Ghost was pleased. Hallelujah when Jesus rose again.
Speaker 1:Oh, I don't think those angels were speaking in a monotone voice and very, very no, no, no, when that angel threw aside that rock and I believe it was thrown aside and he sat upon it and all the soldiers were struck, fearful, around it, and those ladies, hallelujah, they came to the tomb. I think that angel, I think that angel was smiling. I think that angel had a skip in his voice. I think that angel, I don't think he was making fun of them when he said why do you seek? He's not here, he is risen, he's risen, he's risen, he's never going to die again. And because he lives, you live, he lives, you live. See, my friend, he made another promise. He's returning again. He made another promise.
Speaker 1:One day you're going to stand before him and I want you to come back to the book of John, chapter 3, verse 16. And maybe you haven't read it quite this way before, maybe you've never heard it quite this way before, but I want you to hear this now. This is God's faithful promise to you, lost and dying sinner, no matter what your sin looks like. I believe if you're listening to this message, god is showing you whether you're his or whether you're not. If you're not his, I want you to hear this in a certain way, for God, so loved, put your name there. I want you to hear this in a certain way, for God, so loved, put your name there, even read it aloud with me. For God so loved you that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever. My friend, put your name right there.
Speaker 1:You're part of this promise, even if you're not in Christ, even if you're not God's, even if you're not saved, even if you're not spirit-filled, even if you're yet in your sins, this very moment, and under the wrath of God, and under the wrath of God, and under the mercy of God, and under the forbearance of God and, yes, under the love of God, because God is interrupting your life with a promise that you should live and not die. Oh, to go back to the old Psalms, that you should live and not die and declare the works of the Lord. That you should worship the Father in spirit and truth, that you should receive him, that you should be under his blood, that you should be filled with his spirit, you that you shouldn't spend another moment in your sins, you shouldn't spend another moment under the wrath of God. There is no reason for it. That should you believe in him. Whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life, the gift of God.
Speaker 1:For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world. No, that's not why he came. Jesus even said well, you know, I don't judge anything, I get it all from the Father. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world. He didn't come to condemn the world. He didn't come to condemn you, but that you and put your name in there one more time didn't come to condemn you, but that you, through him, might be saved, saved from the wrath of God, saved from the death that comes from sin, saved from the fires of hell, as though there's a real hell, my friend.
Speaker 1:But God didn't make it for men and women, he made it for Satan. He made it for every angel that follows him, though we understand there are going to be folks who go there, but if you're listening to this tonight, god doesn't want you to be one of them and again, put your name. He that believeth on him put your name. He that believeth on him, put your name, is not condemned. No man can condemn you. No woman can condemn you, no spirit can condemn you. God himself can't even condemn you. Why? Because when he looks at you, he sees his son. When he looks at you, he sees the son. When he looks at you, he sees the blood. It's a song we sing here he sees the blood. When he looks at you, he sees the blood. So God, because he's faithful, cannot and will not condemn you. He cannot and will not remove that blood from you. He cannot and will not remove that blood from you. He cannot and will not remove his spirit from you. You know, oh, bless God.
Speaker 1:Even in the New Testament it says well, whenever we're unfaithful, whenever a Christian is unfaithful, well, god can't deny himself. The New Testament tells us you're sealed. The New Testament tells us that you're in the hand of God. The New Testament tells us that God cannot and will not forget you. And so why are people unsaved? Do you realize that whenever the gospel goes forth, god wants everybody who hears it to get saved? That's the heart of God. So why doesn't it happen? He that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation. Light is come into the world. John frequently calls Jesus light.
Speaker 1:Jesus comes into the world and men love darkness. They love life apart from God. They love life in their sin. They loved life in their morality, in their philosophy. They loved the Jesus of liberalism. They loved the Jesus of American conservatism. They loved some legalistic Jesus. They loved some other. They loved some superhero Jesus. They loved something else they loved their drink. They loved their drugs. They loved their lying. They loved their fornicating. They loved their blaspheming. They love something else they love their drink. They love their drugs. They love their lying. They love their fornicating. They love their blaspheming. They love their grudges and their murder.
Speaker 1:And so when Jesus comes up to such a person, there's a refusal that takes place. See, they kind of look up you know if you can humanize it a little bit and you kind of look up, say, oh well, let me go back to this. There's a refusal. The only reason anybody is unsaved is this refusal. Have not believed in love darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. The deeds just keep coming out and once again, you prevail upon the mercy of God, because God is glorified because he's spoken. God is glorified because he gave his son. God is glorified because he gave his promises. God is glorified because he gave his son. God is glorified because he gave his promises. God is glorified because he gave his word but he refused it. Aren't you glad that he is slow to anger? Aren't you glad that he is merciful? Aren't you glad that he has a forbearance and a love that pursues you? But oh, my friends, those are those who refuse. What about you? Tonight? Our musicians will come forward. Amen.
Speaker 1:We'll have a time of invitation right here and we'll have a time of invitation for you online as well. Hallelujah. But it's really the same invitation. If you want to be saved, call upon the name of Jesus. If in your heart, in your soul, there's a yes coming out toward the Lord, there's a yes and an amen coming out toward the Lord, let that come out of your lips and say Lord, save me. Lord, save me, lord. Wash my sin in the blood, cover my sin in the blood, make me new, give me your Holy Spirit. You're my Lord and my God and my Savior. Thank you, I love you. Oh, my friend, whatever words you use, let that faith come up into some words and call upon the name of Jesus tonight. And if you need to do that tonight, right here in the house, well, I just want you to come forward while these people play and if you're far away, talk to him. Maybe you've heard me say this many times. Talk to him just like he's standing right in front of you, because he is Amen and we want to hear about it.
Speaker 1:If you're born again, we want to hear about it. If you're saved, we want to hear about it. We want to rejoice with you. We want to hear the testimony. We want to hear everything that led up to it. Hallelujah. We want to hear about the moment that's encouraging for us. So don't be shy, don't think you're a bother or a burden, but share it with us. We want to hear about it. And especially if the Lord is calling you to be here in person, hallelujah. Even if you've got to go halfway around the world or some of you I know who are listening you just need to drive up the street. But we want to meet you, we want to see you and we want you to know that you're welcome and encouraged to come and that we look forward to seeing you in person. And thank you again for being here and for being there, and may the Lord richly, richly bless us, amen. Amen.
