Kristen Abbott is a Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice.  Kristen received her Ph.D. from the New School in New York, NY with the intention of focusing on an adolescent population.  While completing her internship at the James J Peters VAMC in the Bronx, she discovered a passion for health-related psychology after 6 months spent working with aging and chronically-ill veterans.  Upon graduation, she returned to the VA to work in a home-based primary care setting to provide support for those who could not travel to care.  She has worked in skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, adult day care and assisted living facilities and in consultation with physicians.  Kristen has been in private practice for the past 10 years with a passion for helping others to manage chronic illness, aging, end of life, caregiver stress, grief and maintaining good health.  Kristen works with a focus on the connection between mind and body.  Kristen lives in Ridgefield with her husband and two children, as well as two high-energy dogs and an 18 year-old cat named Dumpling.

You can reach Kristen and learn more about how she can help you navigate the process of caring for aging parents.
