If your marketing feels like a stop-start cycle, it’s not because you lack discipline. It’s because visibility works like compound interest, and every time you disappear, you stop the compounding and make it harder to rebuild trust, attention, and momentum. I’m sharing what I’m seeing in my community, the tension behind “burst posting,” and why persistent visibility is the simplest growth strategy most people avoid.
We go straight into the real reason consistency breaks down: fear. Not the presence of fear, but the story you tell yourself after the fear spike. I use a personal surfing story, yes including sharks, to show how fear can sit in the passenger seat while you still take action. That same skill applies to content creation, selling, going live, and letting your message be seen by the people who actually need it.
Then we make it practical with Human Design. Nervous system tools and mindset shifts help in the moment, but Human Design helps you locate the root of your resistance, especially in open centers where you amplify other people’s judgment and pressure. I walk you through my Six R’s of Visibility framework: Recognize, Remember, Reveal, Repattern, Radiate, and Ripple Effect, so you can build self-trust, stop collapsing into protection, and create consistent marketing that feels aligned.
If you want deeper support, I also share details on my live Sacred Visibility program.
Subscribe, share this with a friend who keeps disappearing, and leave a review so more people can find aligned marketing that actually works.

SPEAKER_00Hi, hi! Welcome to the Human Design for Marketing podcast. I'm your host, Yvette Mayer, and this shows for you if you're done with cookie cutter marketing and ready to build your personal brand in alignment with who you really are. I'm a marketing expert, human design nerd, and intuitive business coach who's helped hundreds of women just like you to elevate their frequency and activate their most magnetic personal brand. Each week we'll dive into practical tips, interviews, conversations, and more to help you create an aligned business, a positive contribution, and of course an abundant life. Let's dive in. Hello and welcome back to the Human Design for Marketing podcast. I'm excited to be here with you again after some more epic travel. I did head to Sri Lanka recently on a learn to surf trip, which was freaking epic. I'm gonna bring surfing up a little bit more later in the episode. But for today, I wanted to talk about a conversation that keeps coming up in my community. And it's the tension that I'm feeling and observing, as well as something that we're chatting about. And that is persistent visibility, not just showing up in births and then disappearing, uh or getting started and then going back into your little line two cave, for instance, but seeing it through persistently so that you build momentum. And I do want to tell you why it's so important that you do this. What happens with uh marketing in general and in social media in particular is uh compound interest. So people being interested in what you have to say compounds over time, but only if you keep investing. And what you're investing is your personal energy to garner that compound interest in what you have to say. When you stop investing and you go out of the market, things get volatile, things go up and down all over the place. There's a lot of different people speaking, there's other voices. When you reappear, your compounded interest has dropped right away. Okay, and therefore it's going to take you twice as much effort, if not more, to rebuild. So I really want to address this and do it in a way that lands for you, and potentially already comparing it to interest and compound interest has helped. Uh, but I wanted to start us here. So, quite often, the thing we hear the most around why you don't show up as consistently as you intend is because of fear. Because maybe you're worried about how people are going to perceive you, that you will stumble over your words, or that you don't know enough, or somebody that you know personally that isn't relevant to your business is going to have something to say about you, and on and on and on. Okay, so any one of these brings on anxiety and fear, right? Or I'm I'm scared, so I want to collapse. But actually, fear doesn't have to stop you. Like fear on its own isn't a barrier. And I will tell you my example of this because I said it would relate it to surfing. I am terrified of sharks. And over the last few years, this has largely been driven by the media, heightening fear. And yes, I do believe there the change in climate is increasing the amount of sharks that are found along our coast. But it's very dramatic and dramatized in the press. And I've gone from being a young kid who loved nothing more than jumping into the ocean and um bodysurfing and going out far and doing beach swims to paddling in up to my shins and thinking, oh, I'll just lay on the ground and get wet. I'm not going to go any further because I'm so scared of sharks. However, I went to surf camp in Sri Lanka, where uh, as per what I researched, sharks are not uh seen at all. And so I just took sharks away from the equation, got into the ocean every single day for two weeks, and I freaking loved it. I fell in love with surfing. It was so liberating. I just felt myself come alive. I was super proud of myself as well. Like I'm 55 this month and I'm learning to surf. It's so cool. And I loved it so much that my purpose around being in the ocean escalated enormously. Suddenly it went from being something that's really nice to something I want to do. The fear didn't go away at all. In fact, I'm more aware of sharks now. Like I have the shark app on my phone, but I am not letting the fear stop me. And I ran I ran a process with myself, through my own process, to kind of see where the fear was living in my body and overcome it enough so that I can feel that fear and get into the water and surf anyway. And a couple of weekends ago, I went out 50 meters from shore in a lineup. It was also scary for other reasons, like who am I to be here? And stayed in the water for two and a half hours. Two and a half hours. The fear was there, of course the fear was there, but I did it anyway. And that proved to me this theory of you can feel fear. It's not fear, it's what you tell yourself or how you respond that actually is causing your challenges around showing up consistently. So I did speak about this back in, I think it was November, I recorded an episode. It wasn't very many episodes ago, called Sacred Visibility. And at the time, I ran you through some thoughts on how you heal yourself from visibility. And I talked about human design and other ways to regulate your nervous system. I have done a lot more work around this. And also ever since this topic came up as something that I wanted to have a voice in, I felt it percolating within me. And I have since developed a more robust approach to helping my clients with visibility. And it is founded in human design. And I'll tell you why. Things like breath work and mindset work, which are highly valuable and needed in this space, they are helpful when the resistance has shown up, but they don't solve the problem of where it's coming from. They work on the nervous system and the fear state versus human design that offers something different. It actually shows us exactly why we're feeling fear in the first place. And a lot of it is sitting in your open centers because where you're open, you're constantly trying to make yourself or protect yourself from the inconsistency that you feel in that part of yourself. And being around others who are projecting judgment and their fear onto you becomes much more magnified in these centers. And so diving deeper into this, you start to understand the patterns that lead you into why consistency or persistency or even showing up in general feels difficult to you. So, I mean, part of this is you're not self, it's been collecting data for years. It has been collecting data around what's not safe and what to do when it's not safe for years. So, what we need to do is see underneath that pattern and work with your design instead of against it. I really think that that is the missing piece that is going to help so many be able to overcome this challenge in their marketing and in their business growth. And that is absolutely what I'm here to help you do. So, fast forward to now, it's been a few months since I first started recording on this topic, and I have developed a brand new tool called the Six R's of Visibility. This is not a piece of work you do once and you learn about, it's an approach that you run every time that you feel challenged in visibility or being more consistent or being persistent. It's not a one-time, let's just do the exercise. It is something that you work with consistently. Okay. And it is super easy and simple once you start to work with it, basically because it has a very easy-to-remember framework. So I'm going to take you through my six Rs of visibility. If you're somebody that likes to take notes from these podcast episodes, feel free to hit pause and go and get yourself some paper and a pen, because this is going to give you a lot to contemplate and work with. So the first thing is to actually be aware of when resistance is showing up without collapsing into it. So feeling the sensation and not instantly going into protection. So this is what I call recognize. The first R is recognize, noticing resistance and naming it. Just doing that starts to change your relationship to it. Okay. So step one or R one is just recognizing, okay, I have felt a fear spike. I can see that that's running through me right now. Okay. First R. Number two R mission critical is remember. Remember why you do what you do. Why is it important to you to keep growing your visibility, to gather more compound interest? Because your purpose and your passion, the work you do with your clients, is bigger than any response to fear once you start to work with it more effectively. Let me tell you, you know, you've you've heard me talk about this from the surfing example, but there's more, like I've got so many examples of this showing up. I'm going to tell you a little story actually, because it's like embarrassing, but really on topic. Is when I first left my career, I was very comfortable with being out the front. Like I ran a 300-person office. Every Friday I stood up in front of the agency, the advertising agency, and talked about what was going on in our business during the week, what we had to celebrate, called out birthdays, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And I freaking loved it. And that was just like the internal stuff. I've been on stages with hundreds and hundreds of individuals in the audience. So I don't lack confidence with public speaking at all. But when I first got into entrepreneurship and I joined a mastermind, I felt like an imposter. Like I felt so much like small fry, I don't have anything valuable to say, who would even listen to me? I'm just going to stay small and silent. Because most of the women in the mastermind were further along in their entrepreneur journeys than me. And oh gosh, I still think back to the fact that we had an in-person, like uh in-person retreat as part of a year-long mostly virtual mastermind. And I I can visualize myself being in this room and how freaking uncomfortable I felt and how much I was collapsing into my fear. Despite that, I did go home and cry and then work with the stories I was telling myself to bring myself back into the room the next day. A lot of me didn't want to, but I came back with all the fear and all the stories running anyway, right? So this is just um more evidence that the fear isn't the problem. All right, back to back to the topic at hand. Okay, so I knew as well, and you know as well, why you're doing the work you're doing. Remember, remember, remember. This is far more important than any fear, shame response that shows up when the resistance rises. It's your first thing you do, remember, okay. The next R is reveal. Reveal what's going on beneath the response. Like, why does this come up for you? What is this here to teach you? What pattern is running? So that's where human design comes in, and we're going to be looking, or you're going to be looking at your open centers. You're going to be looking at things like the shadow state of your key gates, like your personality sun and your personality Mercury. Even your core wound is an interesting place to go looking, especially if you have all your centers defined, at the patterns that are running for you. This will reveal exactly why it happens. So you stop victimizing yourself around I'm hopeless, I'm terrible, I might as well not do this, which I know you do, okay, and start going, well, of course this is going to come up because this is how I'm designed energetically. And when I am confronted with something uncomfortable, I am going to try and protect myself. I'm going to try and protect myself. So a lot of the response that you run is self-protection. It's self-protection. But you don't need it. You don't need it. You can stand strong and proud without going into collapse or I need to protect myself with how I respond. Right? So re-patterning this is the next step. Okay. So you're going to reveal what's actually happening in your design, what pattern is running, and then consciously shift the story. Okay, let me give you the shark example of constantly shifting the story. I'm a line one. I also have a very open chart. So I have a lot of places that I amplify things. I've got an open spleen, so yes, I'm going to amplify fear around that as well. But the line one, which I mentioned earlier, is my savior in some ways because I can see the fear from the media amplifying in me around sharks. Like I can absolutely see it. And yet, when I researched this, and that's what I did, line one got involved. I found evidence to support that I am more likely to get into an accident driving to the beach than to go through a shark attack. And it's 100% true. I mean, I was saying this to a friend, like this is true, even though everybody is saying to me right now, I can't believe you're surfing. There's so many sharks around. I mean, this week I went to a beach where there was a tiger shark spotted 72 hours before, and I still got into the surf on my own. I think that's a bit crazy actually, but I still did it because I'm like, no, I'm not letting fear or my protective patents ruin this experience for me because I remember why I'm doing this. It's so good. I love it. Fair play though. I did actually cop the surfboard in the water, like in the shallows. I got a bit dumped. My board hit me in the face, right in my nose, my upper lip. If you happen to be watching this on YouTube and you can see a swollen lip, that's what happened. But I still did it and it didn't stop me wanting to be out there. In fact, so me. In fact, I turned the board towards the the ocean, not to the shore after I hit my face. I was bleeding because I'm like, I don't want to finish on that. I want to finish on a good memory, like a good wave. And so I turned the board around, started to go out, and then I went, oh yeah, but sharks, uh, they really like blood. And that's just like a red flag to a bull. So no, Yvette you're getting out of the water. So I had to get out of the water at that point. Anyways, I digress. Okay, so we've done recognize, remember, reveal, and then repattern. Okay, so the repattern's really important. It's going to help you keep going through the fear when you understand the truth of what is driving it and you shift the story in your power. Okay. The next thing is when you've done this work, you're going to radiate your fullest expression. You're going to show up anyway. You're going to put fear in the backseat, not in the driver's seat. Fear can come with you, but it's not going to stop you actually doing the thing. Doing the work that really matters to you, that really helps your clients. Don't let fear stop you getting in front of them. There are so many people out there that want exactly what you have to offer. But if you're not visible and if you're not compounding and growing that visibility, they are not going to find you. And then they're going to stay with their patterns and their stuckness. They need you, right? I've often heard, and I probably said on the last time I recorded, but I've often heard a fear of visibility being selfish because it turns, a fear turns on to you, right? It's not about anybody else. It's like, what will happen to me? What will happen to me? People won't like me. People will think I'm stupid, et cetera, et cetera. Whereas selflessness is it's not about me. It's about the clients that are out there waiting for me to be visible so they can get help. That is radiate. And I want you in your radiance. I want you showing up. I want you expanding beyond your comfort zone. And then the sixth, really important and something that I do continually is noticing the ripple effect after ripple. What is the ripple effect of you showing up? Doesn't need to be likes, doesn't even need to be new clients, but the ripple effect is how are you touching just one person who needs you with the right message? Every bit of evidence that your visibility is making an impact needs to be celebrated, countered, and felt in your system. Okay? The more you build up your ripple bank, the greater your resilience is going to be around visibility. Oh, that's another R. And the more resilient you are around your visibility, the less you're going to have to run through the six R's of visibility. It will become embodied. And that's the future for you. But the process to get you there is running through the six R's. Now, the goal, as I said earlier, is not to become fearless. That's the wrong goal entirely. The goal is to understand that you can trust yourself to keep moving even when you feel fear. Even when you feel fear. And the good news is that's available to you right now. You can do that right now. How brilliant is that? However, if you want more help, I have exciting news. If you happen to be listening to this uh soon after I record it, it is the 26th of March 2026, and I am in open cart and early bird pricing right now for my new program, Sacred Visibility, which was first dreamed up back in November or October even last year, and is now meeting you and there to help you. It's a four-week live program with me every single week with QA, one time only. Once it's been recorded, which is going to happen for four weeks from the 7th of April. The first call is on the 7th of April, four consecutive weeks after that live in community, in the frequency of the container, of me, of having uh a group of people hold you through this and actually take action with you. It is going to be life changing. I know that this is going to be the thing that shifts your business from struggling to keep the momentum going to doing it. So I want you with us. Now, the sooner you go to the description of the podcast and click the button to look at what's on offer in more detail, the more likely you are you're going to get the early bird price. And if you don't get the early bird price, do not worry. You have about 10 days, as long as the spots don't sell out, to join us. I've got a limit of 50 on this. And as I said, we'll be live on the 7th of April. So you have about 10 days from when I record this to join, as long as it doesn't sell out before then. And beyond that, within a couple of months, this will be packaged up and be a program that you can do self-paced without the community aspect, which will still be golden and something that I know will add a lot of value. But yeah, if you happen to be like, oh my God, I need this, go do it now. Go do it now. And we'll see you on the inside. All right. Thanks for joining me for this episode. I look forward back to being back with you soon. And I expect I am going to be here more regularly now that my life is about to change and I'm getting a new puppy tomorrow. So travel is going to be put off the agenda for a while, and I'll be here with you. All right then. Bye for now. Thanks for tuning in to the Human Design for Marketing podcast. Make sure you hit that subscribe button, tell your friends, and extra brownie points, go leave me a review. I would so appreciate it. There are heaps more resources in the show notes. I can't wait to be back in your ears again soon. Bye for now.
