Show Notes

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrated His love toward us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

2 Corinthians 5:9 – So our aim is to please Him always…

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

The Bible is God’s love letter to us…telling us not only that He loves us, but showing us what He has done to demonstrate His love. It also tells us how we should live, because God knows what is best for us and He wants us to experience it. Never forget: The Bible is God's Word, given to us so we can know and follow Him. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16)

Spiritual Lesson’s From Billy Bob’s Love for Charlene –

1.  People do Crazy Things When they are in love.  For Billy Bob it was climbing the town’s water tower at midnight and painting a heart ten foot tall w/ letter 3 feet high that read Billy Bob loved Charlene.  The Bible says God showed off his love for us....He didn’t climb a water tower but Jesus climbed a cross.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrated His love toward us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

2.  We live for an Audience of One.  Billy Bob didn’t’ care if the town liked his color of choice.  They said he should’ve used red..  All that mattered to Billy Bob was if Charlene liked it…I mean what farm girl who grew up in Dixie wouldn’t like John Deere Green.  As followers of Christ we live for a audience of One…Jesus the only One we should be concern w/ pleasing.  2 Corinthians 5:9 says our aim is to please Him always.  Billy Bob knew what Charlene would like cause he got to know her…We should get to know God through his word and know what pleases him and aim for that.

3.  Billy Bob chose Green But God chose Red.  The Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Romans 5:9 says “we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s judgment.” See the only Red blood that could save us was the Righteous, perfect spotless blood of the Lamb - Jesus Christ.

4. Billy Bob left a visual and written reminder of his love for Charlene on the water tower.  Everybody who rode through that town saw it.  No paint could cover it.  God gave us a visual reminder of His love for us through the Cross, and through an empty Tomb.  John 3:16 – For God so loved the World that he gave his One and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  But also a written reminder through His Written Word. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).
