Raise The Praise

In our culture people turn to different things for energy, strength, stress relief, truth, and encouragement.

For example many run to coffee for energy, protein and weight training for strength, a cardio workout for stress relief, the news, social media or the opinion of someone for truth, and maybe a comedy show or a good joke for encouragement and laughter.

I have found that dressing up like this and staring at yourself in the mirror imitating Steve Urkle saying “did I do that”… Or looking in the mirror saying “I’m good enough I’m smart enough and dog gone it people like me” or imitating Kip off Napolean Dynamite will help with stress and give you some laughter… dressing up like this and staring at yourself in the mirror…It really works…It’s a lot of fun…You should try it…

Another thing that keep’s me going and strengthens me is “Praising The Lord”.

God’s Word put’s a lot of emphasis on praising the Lord and the Benefits that come w/ being obedient to that command.

When a man curses and uses profanity. He degrades God.  But When a man praises God he exalts, Blesses the Lord.

James 3:10 – And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely this is not right!! 11 – Does a spring of water bubble out both fresh water and salt water? Can you pick olives from a fig tree or figs from a grapevine? No and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty pool.

Matthew 7:20 – Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

Matthew 12:33 - “A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.

Do you know the opposite of profanity? It’s praise

Now we may cringe or get upset when we hear God’s Name taken in Vain…But how many times Do you take it in Praise?

The word Worship is related to the word Worth?  Our worship indicates how much Jesus is worth?  So we can see how much something is worth to us by how we worship it.

I have entitled this sermon Raise Your Praise.

The Last 3 Words Found in the Book of Psalms is “Praise The Lord”. =

Turn your Bible to Psalm 103 - The 1st 3 Words Found in Chapter 103 is “Bless The Lord”.  Bless the Lord and Praise the Lord have the same idea of bragging and boasting about all the good things that God does.

Man, how many of y’all got that Stimulus Package? AWWW YEAH!!!  I told my wife Amber If I knew Ol’ Trump was going to drop $500 on each dependent we would’ve had bout 40 kids.  What??? Now while our government gave us a Stimulus Package I want to share with you God’s Benefit Package.   These benefits don’t come from a government but from God Almighty Himself. We often talk about the “benefits package” when discussing jobs. If you do the work, you get the package. Here, we find undeserving people receiving the most important and most glorious benefits package ever! These benefits don’t come from earthly employer, but a heavenly Father.

Read Psalm 103:1-6 – (Bless) Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

My 1st point “There’s a Raise that comes w/ Praise”.   Every working man loves to hear these words from a Boss –I’m giving you a pay raise…Well here’s a Praise Raise…  We have a reason to Raise a Praise.

  • Forgiveness – (3)He forgives all my sin / (12)He removes our sin as far as the east is from the west.
  • He Heals…here on earth but u
