Isaiah 40:31- But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

 

What does it mean to “wait on the Lord”?

I.               Serve the Lord – Colossians 3:17,23-24 / Deuteronomy 13:4 / 1 Samuel 12:24

II.             Seek, Soak, Sit, & Sing  – Hebrews 11:6 / Psalm 119:9-11 / Lamentations 3:25 / 2 Chronicles 7:14 / Psalm 105:4,1-2

III.           Sow to the Lord – 2 Corinthians 9:6 / Galatians 6:7-9 / Hosea 10:12 / Proverbs 11:18

IV.           Satisfied in the Lord – Proverbs 19:23 / Psalm 107:9 / Matthew 5:6 / Psalm 16:11 / Psalm 103:1-5,12-13

 

Why do I need to “wait on the Lord” in my life?

I.               Strength (Renew)

II.             Perspective (Fly High)

III.           Endurance (Run)

IV.           Direction (Walk)

 

Where do I need to “wait” for the Lord in my life?

I.               Wait on Leaving – 70%-88% of high school grads are leaving the church before the end of their freshmen year of college.  

II.             Wait on Love – 7 out of 8 couples that live together before marriage do not make it.   

III.           Wait on Worldly Learning – Romans 1:18-32 / Romans 12:2

IV.           Wait on the Lord – look to God for all we need for our Past, Present, & Future. Look to the Cross…Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus.  Psalm 130:3-6 / Proverbs 3:5-8 -
