So in this, the first part, the scene for collapse will be set. Focusing on the empires and city-states that were within the Mycenaean sphere of influence to understand the various factors at play during this period of turmoil.
The mysterious sea people are central to my narrative and as I work through the source material I'll pay particular attention to the goings on of popular histories scapegoats.
I finish by leaving the final piece of the puzzle up in the air, the fate of the Mycenaean's. They will be the entirety of my focus for part 2.
