Hate In The Name Of God
For decades, monotheistic religions have managed to use their holy books as a reason to drive up the body count of nonbelievers. As a matter of fact, you will be hard pressed to find many examples of religion-inspired violence and bigotry before monotheistic religions came to power. From the twin towers, to slavery, to condemning interracial marriage, to withholding black men from positions in the priesthood, to women's suffrage, to same sex marriage and so much more, the common thread is men using "sacred" passages from their holy books to justify their violence and bigotry. The song In The Name Of God features a myriad of transgressions justified by "righteous anger".
