In Part One of the Scary Scuffle, we’re putting the villains of horror sequels head-to-head in a one-on-one tournament to determine who is the ultimate sequel villain. Using a bracket-style showdown, each round pits two horror icons against each other as we debate who deserves to advance and who deserves to be sent back to the franchise graveyard.

Who has the best kills? Who is the most terrifying? Who has the most staying power? And, most importantly, which sequel villain would actually win in a fight?

Abby and Alan are joined by Dan Roberts and Kate Rotunda for a chaotic debate covering some of horror’s most memorable sequel villains, from slashers and monsters to supernatural killers and everything in between.

Welcome Back To Scary Scuffle

SPEAKER_00

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Lunatics Radio Hour Podcast. My name is Abby Branker. I'm sitting here with Alan Kodan.

SPEAKER_02

Hello.

SPEAKER_00

And today we are also joined by two very special guests. First, Kate Retunda. Hello. And our friend Dan Roberts. Hi there. And both of these guests have been on the podcast a couple times this year. And today we're very excited because we are continuing our exploration of horror sequels. And we are also continuing a series that we started many years ago called The Scary Scuffle.

SPEAKER_05

I love The Scary Scuffle.

SPEAKER_00

Alan, this was your brainchild, so why don't you tell us about it?

SPEAKER_05

This is something that we used to do growing up where we all just sat around. It actually was inspired by um Dan, what's what's the song?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, the great battle.

SPEAKER_05

The the Come on, what's the name?

SPEAKER_04

Uh the most epic battle of all time.

SPEAKER_05

Something of Ultimate Destiny.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, the big battle of Ultimate Destiny. Or the battle of Ultimate Destiny. Is it?

SPEAKER_05

I think something like that. Anyways, whenever that was like a big thing in the early aughts.

SPEAKER_00

What song is this? Is it from a video game? No, it's not a it's like a weird kind of like jokey song.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, this was like uh the the during the time of E Bomb's world and the ultimate showdown the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny. There it is, yes.

SPEAKER_04

By Lemon Demon.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Okay. Uh we we we can watch it during our break. Sure. But it the idea is that we just picked a bunch of people from fiction, we drew them out of a hat, and then we would just debate who would win in a fight, because that's what teenage boys do. Yes. It was a lot of fun. So we're doing it now for the second time with horror movie villains. And

The Sequel Only Rules Explained

SPEAKER_05

but this time we are doing with sequels. This is only people that have appeared in the second a movie and a sequel to that movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

And we are counting feats from the first and second movie. We are not counting feats if the franchise continues. Is that clear?

SPEAKER_00

No, that makes perfect sense. Can you also talk us through, for those who are not um big sports betters, how the bracketing tournaments will work?

SPEAKER_05

Uh no.

SPEAKER_00

Dan?

SPEAKER_04

I like how sports is framed from like the betting perspective, because basically watching sports just means gambling.

SPEAKER_00

But I mean the bracket. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so yes, we're we're doing a a pretty true bracket uh tournament this year. It'll be 32 teams in head-to-head matchups.

SPEAKER_05

And by teams we mean individual combatants. Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Not all individual combatants.

SPEAKER_05

That's true. That's true. I'm sorry, I I misspoke. Thirty-two Looking at you, five gremlins.

SPEAKER_04

Thirty-two entries, we'll say, uh, or entrants.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And so they'll be going in a head-to-head matchup in rounds. So there'll be a round of sixteen matches and then eight and then four and then two, and then we'll have a head-to-head matchup and term and a winner.

SPEAKER_05

And whoever wins gets the the coveted trophy of the scary scuffle.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. And Dan, why don't you tell us a little bit about the arena situation?

SPEAKER_04

Right.

Brackets And Arenas With Water

SPEAKER_04

So I have been handed a very, very fun spinner, which will determine the location for each head-to-head matchup.

SPEAKER_00

And each of them has a water feature, because if anyone remembers from many years ago with the first scary scuffle, that immediately took Jaws out, and I I thought that wasn't fair.

SPEAKER_05

That's that's true.

SPEAKER_04

We felt I felt bad. Jaws hasn't uh been the same since then. Nope.

SPEAKER_00

So if anybody listened to the episode last week, we talked a lot about the history of some of these sequels. So if you missed that, that will give you a little bit of context before we get into this today. And of course, there's gonna be spoilers. These movies all kind of need to be spoiled to some extent for us to kind of talk about them the way that we're gonna talk about them today.

SPEAKER_05

That is correct. I I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, Alan's been waiting for this for years.

SPEAKER_05

It's such I mean, uh first off, the the this whole process is dumb and fun, but it's just such a good ex excuse to go watch a bunch of very specific movies that you wouldn't otherwise.

SPEAKER_04

Scary Scuffle is the summer event of the season. I mean, it is.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. So before we get into this tournament, because we did all have to go and watch 32 movies, which we'll tell you kind of as we pull out of the hat as we go.

Favorite Watches And Streaming Struggles

SPEAKER_00

But what was everybody's favorite movie that they watched for this?

SPEAKER_05

Why don't you go first, Abby?

SPEAKER_00

I'll tell you my least favorite. Was that I really did not like Texas Chainsaw? You were not with that. I think I would have been okay with it, but then Alan had really set it up, and he's like, because him and I don't love the first one, which I know is controversial, but he really set it up. He was like, it's so funny campy, you're gonna love it. It's so different, which is true, but it was also still gross.

SPEAKER_05

Well, okay. I do apologize for that comment. Yeah, we realized what the what the problem was. I had paused the movie about halfway through and like had not yet finished it. But in the first half is just really silly and campy and fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's very different from the first one.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, mostly.

SPEAKER_04

There's one pretty gross one.

SPEAKER_05

Right, there's there's some gross stuff, but it's nowhere near the like the constant uncomfortable dread of the first one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the f I I'm with you guys that the first one is not my favorite, and I thought this was a a nice change.

SPEAKER_05

Uh yeah, but you know, but then you get later on in the movie, you get some nice face waggling. Yeah, you know, it it gets a little gross.

SPEAKER_00

If I had to give you a favorite from this list, it's hard because there's a lot of movies on here that I really love. But I'm gonna be predictable and say Bride of Frankenstein.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair.

SPEAKER_00

Kate, what about you?

SPEAKER_01

I am a huge Jeepers Creepers fan, generally, so I really like Jeepers Creepers too, but this did introduce me to the Maniac Cop movies that I had never seen.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Maniac Cop.

SPEAKER_01

And I honestly had a really good time with them. I thought they were fun.

SPEAKER_05

It's suspiciously good.

SPEAKER_00

It just was very interesting.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, uh sequels, I guess, were kind of a blind spot to me. There are some of these that I like saw, I've seen all of them probably numerous times. But other ones I like Aliens was a huge blind spot for me where I had not seen that one I really liked as well. But yeah, these were a lot of sequels where I had seen the first one like numerous times, and then the second one I just had never seen before. So it was good to interesting to see what how they continued certain series. Yeah, yeah. Dan.

SPEAKER_04

I think my favorite one was a a sh uh a franchise that is pretty popular that I had never gotten a chance to see, and I don't know why, but uh I really enjoyed Megan 2.0. I watched it very recently, and I thought it was just very funny and and campy and and fun.

SPEAKER_00

Does that mean you watched it on the way here?

SPEAKER_04

I did not watch it on the way here. I watched it last night because I I still had quite a few. This was a long list. 32 movies is a lot. And the case point, like the second movie is often hard to find on streaming services. Initial horror movies are often there, and then you'll get like a random something from the franchise. Right.

SPEAKER_05

Three through five, no problem. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What two?

SPEAKER_05

Fuck off.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and it's it's I like n none of very few of these were things that I had seen previously, and we usually do like a big like watch around like Halloween. We did a big watch when we did the first scary scuffle. Yeah, I w these were just a little bit harder to find, so I hadn't seen as many of them as I would have thought. Um, it just seems to be like what streaming content decides to carry feels kind of random unless you've been like, I'm gonna watch everything in this series because I fall so in love with it, which I've done for a few of these, but uh not for all of them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Alan?

SPEAKER_05

Hellraiser too.

SPEAKER_00

Nice. Interesting.

SPEAKER_05

Uh and I love the whole Hellraiser franchise. It's been a while since I've gone back and watched them. And I made I did not make the mistake this time of trying to eat chicken wings while watching the movie. Good call.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Don't do it.

SPEAKER_01

I I I went in the foodless motherface. I wouldn't eat any well, I mean, I don't, but I wouldn't eat any meat while watching any of these.

SPEAKER_05

Especially not meat that you have to like rip off bones. Yeah, and it looks bloody.

SPEAKER_01

It's more like an immersive experience. It's like those movie theaters that like it like serves you meals and vegetables.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Chicken wings hanging on little chains.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. Well, I have to say I had to walk. The one time that I can remember as an adult walking out of a theater was at a like dinner, you know, where like a it's syndicated in Brooklyn where you can order food. Yeah. And I went to see the house that Jack built, which is uh Lars Vontier movie about a serial killer, and all of my friends and I were eating rare hamburgers, and we all, after like 30 minutes, just got up and left. Like we were so nauseous. Yeah. So that's a real thing. All right, shall we get into it on that note?

Myers Vs Xenomorph Sets The Tone

SPEAKER_05

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_00

So, Kate, will you pull pull our first two opponents for us?

SPEAKER_01

So, first up is Michael Myers.

SPEAKER_05

Ooh, starting off hot.

SPEAKER_01

Halloween two, and he is facing a xenomorph.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, geez. Wow. Some some big heavy hitters off the bat.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Dan, will you spin the wheel?

SPEAKER_04

They're going to be fighting in a spring break beach town.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Let the debate ensue.

SPEAKER_01

Is there really much of a debate here? I feel like the xenomorph takes it.

SPEAKER_05

I think it does. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Especially if we're just doing the first two Halloween movies. Specifically, Michael, he's just he's he's harder to kill because I guess he doesn't feel pain as much. Like he can get up after a little bit, but just one chom from the xenomorph, and I think he's gone.

SPEAKER_04

Well, we we have said we're saying that they are looking for each other, right? Like they're they're they're they they know their goal is to kill each other, which I think puts if Mike Myers was just one of many people in this spring break beach town. Maybe he could like try and blend in.

SPEAKER_00

He's pretty good at like well he's always like a little bit behind the pack though, because he's not super fast.

SPEAKER_05

No, he's not.

SPEAKER_01

Is he gonna get distracted by all the teenagers though on spring break?

SPEAKER_05

Ooh, he does not like teenagers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And they're on spring break, they're gonna be raunchy. Yeah, I feel like he's gonna kill them.

SPEAKER_05

So he's gonna get even more distracted. Okay, so before we we really set our verdict here, we should also establish a few more baseline rules. Like, where do they start? Are they right in front of each other? Oh yeah. Are they across the I imagine they should there should be some distance in the beginning? Because like some people need prep time, some people, you know, need to dark.

SPEAKER_00

Well, this isn't like hunger games, right?

SPEAKER_05

No, but it's like you there's some people that are like really clever, and if you just start right next to the Lake Placid crocodile, it doesn't matter how clever you are, you're gonna get chomped.

SPEAKER_04

I think every spring break beach town has a pier, right? Sure.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it does always.

SPEAKER_04

So maybe they're at opposite ends of the pier.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, okay. So we'll say 500 meters apart. Sure. It's a long pier. Yes. Well, I mean it in general, they'll always be 500 meters apart.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So plenty of time to run and hide, or you can charge in and it's not like you're having to traverse.

SPEAKER_00

And they can't like directly see each other right away. Correct. Okay. I still think he I mean So there's hunting involved. Yeah, but the xenomorph is good at hunting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and also Michael Myers' weapon is a knife. You stab the xenomorph, there's acid blood all over you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he gets one stab.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I feel like I just unfortunately And it's not gonna be a good stab. No. All right. We've made our quick decision, I believe. It's it it is unfortunate. He he deserved better.

SPEAKER_05

Uh yeah, I mean, yeah, that if if this was any later, we might have more of a debate. But he's just a guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

For the f for the first round, we gotta we we gotta keep these a little bit quick, I think. And then, you know, the other thing is you know, there's a lot of people on here who Mike Myers would have but you know, we are not doing any seeding. You know, when you do a tournament like this, sometimes you have like a number one seed and you put them on opposite ends.

SPEAKER_05

But this was just a tough day for Mike Myers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh R.I.P. Yep. Legend. Sorry, Mike, will do to the death or incapacitation.

SPEAKER_01

Like unconscious?

SPEAKER_05

Like well, there are some people who are invulnerable. Right. So I see so like you can like tear them apart or whatever. But like if you are able to uh who who's like a ghost on this thing? Like you can't kill Pinhead. Like, but you can you can like eviscerate him, yeah. Yeah, uh, and so he'll have to he'll like recompose himself, but like or you could turn them human again.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and but so it's like when in boxing it's like a three, two, one, you know, and you're still down. Like there's no chance that they are.

SPEAKER_05

There are TKOs.

SPEAKER_01

Got it. Yeah, okay. Okay. Next up. One rage virus infected from 28 weeks later.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Versus Predator.

SPEAKER_05

Ooh. Well, hang on. Where's it?

SPEAKER_01

Where are we going?

SPEAKER_05

Unless this is spring break again, they got no chance.

SPEAKER_04

They are fighting in a graveyard.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, geez. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What's the water feature in the graveyard?

SPEAKER_05

There is a pond. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I was hoping it was a big fountain.

SPEAKER_05

There's both. There's a big fountain and there's a pond. Close enough to jump between if you're a shark.

SPEAKER_01

I would say it would almost be better for the rage infected to be in a crowd of people. A graveyard probably feels like the worst place for it because it could at least bite other people and bring them onto their team, but in a graveyard, they've got they've got nothing to latch on to.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, if this was spring break again, like suddenly there's a lot of rage fires people.

SPEAKER_04

Um well, is Abby there to do a cemetery tour? Tour.

SPEAKER_00

Cemetery. Abby and I are walking around, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So you're there.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. I'm on outside the cemetery. Maybe like one or two stragglers. Yeah. I mean, okay, I die, but like I still think the outcome's the same.

SPEAKER_04

Gravekeeper is there?

SPEAKER_00

Like, and and his I mean, this feels similar, right? Like, Predator is very powerful. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

He's also like pretty sealed in his suit.

SPEAKER_01

That's true, but in all fairness, in Predator 2, he's killed by like a NYPD officer in the 90s, which kind of lowers his don't d I mean, don't do Danny Glover dirty like that.

SPEAKER_05

Like he's a good shot.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I I still think Pretheter wins in this situation, but since we're basing it off the sequels, I just thought Predator was taken out a little too quickly.

SPEAKER_05

Right, yes, but Danny Glover also like used the the meat locker to you know masking. I'm not just predatory signature.

SPEAKER_01

He he was also, I guess, like worthy in a sense.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. Yes, uh rage virus people are just gonna be kind of dumb.

SPEAKER_01

There's also no like in Predator 2, Predator shows like a little bit of emotion towards the pregnant woman. There's no emotion to show towards the rage virus, there's nothing holding it back.

SPEAKER_05

So is it a pregnant rage monster?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, is the rage monster pregnant? No.

SPEAKER_05

Uh that doesn't come until m much later in the series. Also, I'd I'd another rule establish. Uh if they have equipment that is prevalent that they use in the movie, they can have it here.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, and so like Predator. Yeah, Predator's got some good weapons. Does he have his plasma cannon and too? I think so.

SPEAKER_01

He's got something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he's got his gun on his shoulder. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, they're they're fucked.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, Kate. Okay. Next up.

Slasher Logic Meets Monster Physics

SPEAKER_01

Uh creature from the Black Lagoon. Good job reading my handwriting on that one. Versus the tall man from Phantasm 2.

SPEAKER_04

And they will be fighting at a clifftop laboratory.

SPEAKER_05

Ooh. Not good for creature.

SPEAKER_01

No. What's the water feature?

SPEAKER_05

Uh off the cliffs is the ocean.

SPEAKER_01

Does it dive all the way off the that's too far?

SPEAKER_05

Sorry. Oh, yes, but also inside the laboratory is a massive, massive tank.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So think uh way over the water.

SPEAKER_01

The shape of water. Shape of water, that's it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Got it.

SPEAKER_05

He could go into that tank. It's it's significant.

SPEAKER_01

Trap himself in a enclosed tank.

SPEAKER_05

Well, can the tall man get someone underwater?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

He can.

SPEAKER_01

I would assume he has cosmic abilities. Duh.

SPEAKER_04

I I don't know. He's got the little sphere.

SPEAKER_01

Probably one of the coolest horror weapons of all time. It's great.

SPEAKER_05

I wholeheartedly agree.

SPEAKER_01

It is, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I just like that it gets used against him in the end.

SPEAKER_05

So I I did a little research on like what those things are. The lore it they is they establish it in the movie. Um, but it's it's convoluted.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So like the little ewok things running around are his victims that he's crushed down and removed their brain. Uh then he animates them in miniature ewok form.

SPEAKER_04

Does he get some? I wanted to know this. Does he get a few of those little creatures?

SPEAKER_05

I don't oh, uh I'd say if there's bodies, he can get them. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

He he also has the ability to open the portal, right? Or is that a set location?

SPEAKER_05

How does he open the portal?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I can't I feel like in the first one, at least it's like kind of in a room. So I guess it's a question of whether the portal can only exist in one space or if he can summon it wherever he wants.

SPEAKER_04

Does it always have to be in a morgue?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, can you only summon the portal on the morgue? That's a good question.

SPEAKER_05

I'd say a laboratory is probably the closest you're gonna get to a morgue anyway. That's true.

SPEAKER_01

I think there's both So we can maybe assume the portal is open in a room of the laboratory.

SPEAKER_05

Sure. Why why not?

SPEAKER_01

Um rules here, really.

SPEAKER_05

But the the little orbs that he throws at people, those contain the brains that he takes out of the ewoks. Really? That's why the things are kind of smart and how they that's why they're like all homing and whatnot. But also, most notable trait about these little orbs is that they stick into things and drain the moisture. Yeah, and shoot the blood out. Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty bad for creature. Yeah, it's not he needs he needs his moisture.

SPEAKER_00

Creature is also just he you you shoot him, he dies. Yeah, he's yeah. And if he's contained to a tank, he's like kind of like a fish in a barrel.

SPEAKER_05

Well, he can jump off the cliff.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but then he doesn't exist either.

SPEAKER_04

So if the creature doesn't the creature could play the hiding game, he could be like He could.

SPEAKER_01

But is there a time limit on these battles? That's a good question. But if he throws the orb, can't the orb just find him?

SPEAKER_05

We we don't know if it can go underwater.

SPEAKER_01

I have to imagine it can be.

SPEAKER_05

If it's made of metal and brain, I can't see why.

SPEAKER_01

But if it has lasers, it doesn't laser. There's some kind of electrical It has a drill.

SPEAKER_05

The drill can break the tank. The tank will drain.

SPEAKER_01

If he's in the tank, there's no like he just you could throw the orb without anything coming out of it and it will probably break the tank.

SPEAKER_05

True. Yes, he could just hit it with a hammer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like I don't think that, but if we're saying that the creature can jump off into the ocean, I still I have to do it. All right, we've made our cough.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, is anyone have any reason why the creature would take this?

SPEAKER_01

No. No.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, cool. I can't. No. I want to.

SPEAKER_01

I watching creature from uh the second movie made me realize how much like it's just a non-consensual shape of water. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's really that's exactly right.

SPEAKER_05

It's really upsetting.

SPEAKER_00

The second one is rough for that too. Very easily distracted by women. Yes. And also they treat him really horribly in the second movie. Yeah. All right, Kate. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Cruising. They did take him to Florida, right? Yeah. Yeah. To SeaWorld.

SPEAKER_01

Terrible. Okay. Leatherface, Abby's favorite. Yikes. Versus Ooh, croc from Lake Placid, too.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think we get to say goodbye to Leatherface.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know. Go ahead, Dan. Yeah, where are they?

SPEAKER_04

Once again, well, they'll be fighting in a graveyard. Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. What's the water feature? It's just the pond in the graveyard.

SPEAKER_05

There's a big pond and there's a fountain.

SPEAKER_01

But he doesn't need to be in the water at all times.

SPEAKER_00

But Leatherface can't pursue the croc in the pond.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. No chance Leatherface can swim.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So the croc could kind of come out and you know. I yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I think even I mean There's no way. There's so many things counting against Leatherface on this one. He just reeks of human blood. Well, especially basically flathered himself.

SPEAKER_00

And in the second movie, he's so buffoonish. Like he just has no like skills. No, there's it's nothing.

SPEAKER_05

And if he finds the crocodile sexy, it's all over for him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you could the crocodile could manipulate him.

SPEAKER_04

Watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, I was like, I don't know who he could possibly win against. He has to do his little dance before he can do any kind of attack.

SPEAKER_01

You could run away while he's just racing the chainsaw. Yeah. Chainsaw is a terrible weapon, generally.

SPEAKER_05

It's great against completely normal, scared people.

SPEAKER_00

But it's so clunky and loud and like prone to running out of gas.

SPEAKER_05

Well, he's so bad with it. Yeah, but Ash and Evil Dead does great with it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, but that's like a he doesn't he modify it?

SPEAKER_05

He makes it slightly smaller.

SPEAKER_01

He does slightly smaller. And like, but he can move his arm faster. He doesn't have to worry about it. Um yeah, I I think like yeah, I don't think there's any. I don't know if a uh Does the crap not have a name? I don't know. Even though there's several of them in the second one.

SPEAKER_05

That's true.

SPEAKER_04

Well, no, I was just gonna say I think Betty White talks to one of them at one point, but I can't remember what she calls it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she yeah, you're right. All right, next up, moving on moving quickly. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, Chucky from Child's Play 2 versus the caller from When a Stranger Calls Back. Ooh, interesting. This is actually a better matchup.

SPEAKER_04

They will be fighting in a haunted, insane asylum.

SPEAKER_00

So, Dan, we did our babysitter and the man upstairs episode with you. I did. So, what did you think about when a stranger calls back?

SPEAKER_04

When Stranger Calls Back, I watched last night. Uh enjoyed it. I liked the idea of a ventriloquist um murderer that it wasn't really about the dummy. Yeah. I was worried it was gonna be about the dummy. And then uh it wasn't, so I was thrilled about that. Um but you know, we watch a lot of horror movies. I don't know. It was okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, sure. Okay, so we have Chucky versus the caller, and where are they?

SPEAKER_04

In a haunted insane asylum.

SPEAKER_00

All right, are there working phones?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he needs to call them before he kills them. Uh it it says it's haunted pay phones.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so are the ghosts in play?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, the ghosts are definitely in play. Isn't wait, yeah. Chucky is a ghost. He is.

SPEAKER_01

Technically. He's like a consciousness.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so he's among friends.

SPEAKER_01

Is he a ghost? Well he's he's inhabited by a serial killer. Yeah, yeah, exactly. But it's not possession.

SPEAKER_05

Isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

No, it's voodoo magic.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Movie magic?

SPEAKER_01

Voodoo magic. It's a movie magic.

SPEAKER_05

He's not a real doll.

SPEAKER_01

The doll isn't actually acting anything.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so let's see. This seems like a shoe-in for Chucky.

SPEAKER_00

Does it? No. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

I'm in disagree. Chucky, I love Chucky movies. But he's not actually all that frightening. Because he first off, you can always hear his little footsteps. He's yeah. And this guy and the the stranger in in The Stranger Calls Back is incredibly good at hiding. And I don't think Chucky's particularly good at finding people.

SPEAKER_00

I think they're both like similar skill sets, but the stranger is like a full-grown human. Yeah. It's serial killer versus serial killer.

SPEAKER_01

That's a great point.

SPEAKER_00

Like they both have little knives, they're both whatever, but one is like a man and one is like a one-foot-tall.

SPEAKER_05

But Chucky can take more damage.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

But like how is Chucky killed again?

SPEAKER_01

In the first one, he throws him into the fire.

SPEAKER_04

Right, he's burned. And in the second one, he's put in like a factory like conveyor body. Like if you stab Chucky.

SPEAKER_00

It's just stabbing through plastic. But he has scar he bleeds, doesn't he? But again, we're trying to take him, we're trying to incapacitate him.

SPEAKER_05

Right. I'm trying to think of does he feel pain? I don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like you could just kind of step on him and then saw off his all his little limbs.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. So I so Chucky's biggest weapon is fear.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh and the stranger, or the caller rather.

SPEAKER_03

Seems to be a sociopath.

SPEAKER_05

Seems to be loves tormenting young people. Yeah. Chucky looks like a young person.

SPEAKER_00

That's true.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think the collar takes it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. What a twist.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like also Chucky, they imply that he has voodoo magic, but that he never uses it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Chucky can Chucky is constantly being out foxed by like a an eight-year-old boy. And in the second one is out foxed by an eight-year-old boy and his babysitter. And like he like his like I think he you know would easily lose to a uh someone who's in the heads in the game mark.

SPEAKER_01

He's got the big ego. He's very narcissistic, and the collar is just kind of yeah.

SPEAKER_05

True. Okay, done.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, done. Next up.

SPEAKER_01

Okay,

M3GAN In A Mall Plus Dream Rules

SPEAKER_01

next up. We got Ghostface, specifically from Scream 2. Are we doing? Yep. Okay. And Megan.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, jeez.

SPEAKER_00

These matchups are really funny.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so where are they? Well, they're gonna be fighting in a daytime shopping mall, which I think is gonna be.

SPEAKER_00

Daytime shopping mall. Why did you write daytime?

SPEAKER_05

Because I wanted people there.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, like it's during the daytime. Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

But you wrote daytime shopping mall, not shopping mall.

SPEAKER_00

In the daytime. During during daytime.

SPEAKER_05

Daytime shopping mall. What do you call it?

SPEAKER_00

Just a shopping mall. Yeah. Open for bids. Daytime. Okay. Okay. Understood. And it's a big thing. It's bright.

SPEAKER_05

So, you know, all these, it's presumably like midnight, night, whatever, unless specify it.

SPEAKER_01

Unless it's a daytime shopping mall.

SPEAKER_05

Unless it's a daytime shopping mall.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so in ghost in Scream 2, Ghostface is a frat boy and a middle-aged woman. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So there's two. There's two of them. But only one costume.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Who are we choosing one of the ghost face or are they are they both there? They're both there. Okay. I think.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's fine. It doesn't matter. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't. Ring all the time. There could be five of them. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm the same thing all of the the ghost face from Scream 1 as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

They're all there. That's fine.

SPEAKER_00

All okay.

SPEAKER_05

All four. And they're they're gonna start surrounding Megan with knives and she's still gonna win. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She's gonna do a little dance.

SPEAKER_05

Actually, so they do start, you know, 500 feet 500 meters apart. I think Megan would just pretend to be a mannequin.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. She would kick in.

SPEAKER_05

Because that's fun.

SPEAKER_04

There was a moment when I was watching this movie where I thought, oh, if she has the behavioral inhibitor on, that's a good leg up for whoever she fights, because then she can't kill humans. But they take it off her by the end.

SPEAKER_01

So are we doing Megan at her strongest?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's a feat established in Megan too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So she can kill. So no problem. And she knows Kung Fu. She does.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I they're just two very normal people in Ghostface to in Scream 2. They just have the advantage of sneaking up on people, I guess. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I've already wrote down that Megan wants. Yeah, I mean there's not.

SPEAKER_01

But have you considered that they're in a daytime shopping mall? Oh, good point. Good point.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. What do you think? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Got it.

SPEAKER_04

The only thing the the real skill that Ghostface has is that you don't know that it's multiple people. But Megan, knowing that there's multiple people she needs to kill, kind of she's seen the first movie.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like she'd be like, why is your heartbeat?

SPEAKER_05

Why is your heart rate different from the last time I saw you? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, do they have like pictures of what each other look like? They know what the other person because I mean.

SPEAKER_05

They've seen each other's first movie. That's fair. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but the two people who are in Scream 2 aren't in the first movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but she still gets the premise.

SPEAKER_01

But then, but it in that case, I'm just saying if we're in a daytime shopping mall, I think the both the ghost face could blend easily if she doesn't know who they are. And then that happens, I think. And I don't think their little knives will.

SPEAKER_05

This could be a a full battle of attrition that goes on for a long time.

SPEAKER_01

But Megan's winning.

SPEAKER_05

But I don't see a win condition for them taking her down.

SPEAKER_01

No. Because even if you kill her, her consciousness can live on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, there's a lot of electronics in them all.

SPEAKER_05

That's true. Yeah, I feel like if her body would be destroyed, that'd be a TKO. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't think they're doing that.

SPEAKER_05

But I just yeah, they're they're just frat boys.

SPEAKER_01

One frat boy, one mom.

SPEAKER_05

One mom. And even with mom energy, there's no chance.

SPEAKER_01

No. Okay. What do we got? The invisible man versus Freddy Krueger.

SPEAKER_04

Wow. The Invisible Man, I think, made the semifinals last time. Yeah. Really?

SPEAKER_05

He's very sneaky.

SPEAKER_00

Kate, you gotta listen to this. This was the craziest guy I've ever made. He's just like a dude who is invisible.

SPEAKER_04

The rules of this the rules the rules for Scary Scuffle are just if you argue hard enough.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, that's true. Most things in life. That's why I had Kate this time because I was outnumbered the last time. Okay, where are they?

SPEAKER_04

They are fighting in a quarantined urban slum.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, quarantined urban slums.

SPEAKER_00

It's like a call of duty map.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so they have the whole, it's like a town.

SPEAKER_05

So it's it's like urban slums, right? Picture so that this would be like uh candyman type.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like it would be more like 28 days later.

SPEAKER_05

With a combination with any of these zombie breakout things. So there's like the military presence around the perimeter. You cannot leave this area, that's why it's contained.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

You know, flipped over cars and stuff to still some people panicking.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, here's the thing the invisible man still dreams. Yeah. He's just a guy who is invisible. Yeah. So he could still be targeted. Like him being invisible doesn't help him against Freddy.

SPEAKER_01

And he can't do anything when he's not asleep because Freddie, he's there's no I mean, I guess there's some precautions you can take, but for the most part, you have to meet Freddie on his turf, so he's gonna have to be asleep eventually. Well, yeah, this came up last time, you're right.

SPEAKER_05

Well, Freddy is in the arena.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So he's in the arena, does he have all his dream abilities?

SPEAKER_05

No, he's in the real world. So he can attack someone if they fall asleep.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Or he can just, you know, be Freddy Kruger and stab people with his hand claw.

SPEAKER_01

So it's a guy who happens to be invisible and a guy who has knives for hands.

SPEAKER_00

So then if it really becomes like a waiting game, yeah, like the invisible man could wait it out if this is a timed match, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Do we think the invisible man could ambush Freddy Krueger before he falls asleep?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Of course. Because I think you could go a couple days without falling asleep.

SPEAKER_05

Freddy Krueger's also a massive narcissist.

SPEAKER_04

You have to kill Freddy Kruger in his dream, right?

SPEAKER_01

Uh we're arguing he's in the original world.

SPEAKER_05

If you kill him in the real world, he's like banished to hell or something.

SPEAKER_04

I think that then I would put more weight on the invisible man.

SPEAKER_01

I think also Freddy Krueger mostly fights children. Yeah. I'm trying to think of in the Invisible Man 2, he's just a he's just a guy who hik who killed someone, right? I'm trying to think of like how strong he was.

SPEAKER_05

He's just he is just a guy. He's just incredibly strong.

SPEAKER_01

I can't reiterate enough that he is just a dude who is invisible.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so in the in the second one, it's a different invisible man from the first.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

And but he's he's a criminal.

SPEAKER_01

I think he's a guy who's in jail, and I believe he killed someone.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so a violent criminal who's now invisible.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so no no extra feats of strength, but he's malicious.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Yeah. And very at least capable of murder. Yes, and I'm fighting for his own.

SPEAKER_05

So is Freddie Krueger. For sure. But I for sure I do feel that like because this has to be like a stealth ambush situation on both their parts, but Freddie Krueger being such a narcissist is so easily baited out.

SPEAKER_00

But also the invisible man's like biggest strength is stealth. So if it comes down to stealth, he wins.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yep. And you could go like three days without sleep or something. So if it just takes him three days to find Freddie, and Freddie has to like make at least six quips before he kills someone.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So Freddie is not good at blending in.

SPEAKER_05

No, not at all. And there's like there are other people in this quarantine zone.

SPEAKER_04

It's a quarantine urban slum, for all we know. It's quarantined because everyone's developed some kind of severe leprosy that makes them all look like Freddie Kruger.

SPEAKER_01

But do they have knife gloves? And are they stripey? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Probably not.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's a quarantine urban slum. They've had to resort to knife gloves to protect themselves.

SPEAKER_05

Um I I you know, he could just, yeah, take some of the take some children, make uh the invisible man could take some children, put them into like a little trap. Yeah. Uh Freddie Kruger shows up to get all stabby and then gets ambushed.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I think it is crazy to say the invisible man beats Freddie, but if you're awake and Freddie is confined to the real world and you're able to stay awake, I do think that he's just yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think he got him. Unless it's snowing.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Why cause cold? No, because then you could see his footprints.

SPEAKER_04

Dan, is it snowing? It's I think in a quarantined urban slum never snows.

SPEAKER_01

Ash falling from the sky.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know why. In my mind, I always I know this isn't what real quarantine zones look like, but I always imagine they place a giant dome over the city.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's true. So but there's a lot of dust. So there are dusty footprints. I just don't think that Freddie Krueger's smart enough.

SPEAKER_00

Stay in one corner and never move and win. If it's a time trial.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Freddie's like looking around for him. All right. I think we've made our decision. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Second time, second scary scuffle in a row where Freddie Krueger gets knocked out in the first round.

SPEAKER_01

That's surprising. I really thought the invisible man would be knocked out earlier, but I guess in this case, just again the collar was gonna get knocked out. That's why it's a fun game. Okay. Next up, we've got the T-800 from Terminator 2. Yes. Versus Alan.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Versus Norman Bates. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, where this is an exciting one. And they're gonna be fighting at a lakeside summer camp.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, a likely place for them both to be.

SPEAKER_04

Of course. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I guess the question is does if we're talking Terminator 2 T-800, can he still I'm trying to remember if he has like a behavioral block. I know he's like reprogrammed by is it Bill Paxton?

SPEAKER_05

No, uh, he can kill anybody except John Connor.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay, then yeah. I Norman Bates is just kind of a sad sack.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, but we are using just a T-800. I don't want to be the specific one.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Okay, so okay. So either way.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Uh so he could kill John Connor. He could kill John Connor.

SPEAKER_04

If Norman Bates has convinced John Connor to go to a lakeside summer camp.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Is there any world where Norman Bates becomes so manipulative that his knowledge of John Connor dejade the T-800?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_01

Because especially if we're talking Norman Bates in the second movie, he's just kind of being manipulated the whole time. Yeah. Even in the first one, he's easily fooled.

SPEAKER_00

So sad. All my favorite guys are dropping off. All right.

SPEAKER_05

Is I'm trying to think if there's any moment where we see whether they're full whether the the Terminators are submersible. I can't.

SPEAKER_01

What is Norman is Norman Bates is gonna go swimming? We don't know any idea about his to make it.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry, in in and it's like the they could they canoe into the middle of the lake for safety.

SPEAKER_01

T 800 is canoeing into the middle of the lake for safety. Oh, I see, I see.

SPEAKER_05

And then the T-800 would have to follow him in somehow. You can't canoe, he'll he'll flip. He's too heavy.

SPEAKER_01

That is, I feel like the T 800 could go under the water, but I think getting out from under the But he sits in like a He would just walk out.

SPEAKER_04

I'm in the first movie, he's like mostly alive in lava.

SPEAKER_05

Like or like he does get rained on, so he's at least um flesh resistance.

SPEAKER_01

Human flesh protecting his That's true.

SPEAKER_04

Does he get to keep the keeping?

SPEAKER_05

I think he's submersible.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, let's say he's submersible. I think either way. Yeah, he can't swim a move point.

SPEAKER_04

Definitely not swim.

SPEAKER_01

But he can walk around underwater.

SPEAKER_04

He can, yeah. Like a pirate of the Caribbean. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Because I think even if Norman Bates or mother or whatever gets a few good stabs in, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if he gets close enough to do that, then he's dead. Yeah, exactly. Just gets a shotgun.

SPEAKER_05

If we put the entire cast of Psycho 2, this would still, including all the cops and so even if we don't give the T-800 a gun, he's still gonna win.

SPEAKER_01

He just hits him and he his brain explodes.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. He'll throw things at him in the canoe. Yeah, he's still in the I still have him in the canoe. It's the only place that I can imagine. I think he's dead. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Sorry, Abby.

SPEAKER_01

It's okay. Life goes on. Okay, next up. We got

Spaceships Swamps And Pure Chaos

SPEAKER_01

the creeper. All right, Kate. Fantastic. Big one, big one. Versus a death angel.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, it's a bad spin, but they're gonna be fighting in a derelict spaceship. Oh jeez.

SPEAKER_00

That makes a lot of noise. In space?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's in space.

SPEAKER_00

But it's derelict.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What does that mean?

SPEAKER_05

So life support is still active, but there's no gravity. And it's it's basically like a decommissioned spaceship.

SPEAKER_01

There's no gravity?

SPEAKER_05

Correct.

SPEAKER_00

We talked about this because that's very specific. Yeah, that's really that.

SPEAKER_05

I was trying to think, I was trying to include a lot of places where Jaws might do okay.

SPEAKER_01

No gravity?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he can just kind of like bounce around the walls and snap around. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And is there just water flow?

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't, we're not talking about jaws now. No, let's not get sidetracked. Okay. Creeper versus Death Angel in a no-gravity derelict spaceship in space.

SPEAKER_01

And we're assuming Creeper is functioning. Like he's not in his hibernation. Right. Correct. We're in the 23rd spring of a 23rd year. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Correct. Uh but he only has 23 days to end this fight.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think he'll do it. I think Creeper. There's a lot of noise happening on spaceships. Creeper could just yell.

SPEAKER_05

Sure. But then the death angel finds him.

SPEAKER_01

True, but I think if you make enough noise, the angel gets at least startled. And then Creeper is a very difficult creature to kill and harm.

SPEAKER_05

His little throwing shurikans have the force of a shotgun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, because they to like completely blow out wheels and whatnot. Uh and like that's how they take out the death angels.

SPEAKER_04

Even without the sonic equipment that they have in the second movie, they can take them out with the yeah, with a rifle.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they're not like impenetrable skin. Right. They it's just they have very specific weak points that are very hard to kill. But if the creeper can shuriken from across a cornfield, yeah, hit a very small thing multiple times, I think he's got it.

SPEAKER_01

He's also intelligent. He's an intelligent life form.

SPEAKER_05

He's a smart guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And he's his skin is hard to break. I mean, I guess humans do technically defeat him in the second one, but it took him quite some time, and there was a lot of them. And he was on his last legs.

SPEAKER_05

Right. The reason why he was defeated was because he was out of time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. So I think it's just kind of him versus a wild animal.

SPEAKER_05

Also, doesn't he isn't he silent when he flies?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's very quiet.

SPEAKER_04

He also has Seth Green's eyes by the second movie.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's true.

SPEAKER_01

Seth Green, Justin Long.

SPEAKER_05

You're thinking of robot chicken.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Maybe. I think you're thinking of Family Guy, maybe?

SPEAKER_04

Maybe. No, I really thought in the Creeper that it's No, it's Justin Long.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I'm sorry. I was I was so excited that there was no Justin Long movies when I went through this whole list.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, sorry.

SPEAKER_05

So also we have one very smart thing, one not very smart thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

With pretty equal combat abilities.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I would argue the creeper is significantly harder to kill in terms of his body, and the death angel seems to be kind of you can shoot it. Sure.

SPEAKER_05

I'd say the the death angel is more robust, uh, because the creeper regenerates, but there's no people to regenerate from here. But it doesn't matter. He's gonna take it.

SPEAKER_01

Even in the first movie, he's shot and without regenerating is able to continue for quite some time.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_01

All right, we've made a decision.

SPEAKER_05

Thanks, Abby.

SPEAKER_00

Someone has to, you know, call the shots out here.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Next up, Bri the Frankenstein versus Pearl.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I hate that we're pitting the ladies against each other.

SPEAKER_01

Come on.

SPEAKER_04

But where?

unknown

Where?

SPEAKER_04

We'll be fighting in a quarantined urban slum.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, not again. We're back in the quarantined urban slum. Abby, do you want to start since you're a big Bride the Frank fan?

SPEAKER_00

I think here's the interesting thing. You have Pearl, who is a person, but is psychotic and a killer. You have Bride of Frankenstein, who is a slightly stronger person. You know, it it's interesting. Like, I think Pearl is smarter, potentially, and more maniacal. But I think the bride is a little bit stronger. I just don't know that she would see Pearl coming. You know what I mean? I I that's my question in my head.

SPEAKER_01

Though I don't know if Pearl is really known for being sneaky, she's more known for like very intense violent outburst.

SPEAKER_05

She just loses her shit. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I think Bride of Frankenstein is easily scared. Yeah. So I think Pearl, if Pearl were to like charge her, she could definitely catch her off guard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't think her instinct would be to like crush her back.

SPEAKER_01

But I do think that by the time Pearl attacks a startled Bride of Frankenstein and is stabbing or whatever, Bride of Frankenstein's stabs are not really gonna do much to her. She's already dead, and then at that point, just kind of animalistic reaction could probably snap Pearl's neck.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think it's really it could I could see it either way. Toys?

SPEAKER_04

Well, she gets the the the they get everything they have in the movie, right? So she has a pitchfork and an axe, Pearl?

SPEAKER_05

Both stabby things. Sure.

SPEAKER_04

Or slicey. I guess it would be I think it's the strength component of Bride of Frankenstein. You know, Pearl might get the Bride of Frankenstein decently injured, but as soon as Bride of Frankenstein gets up up and close, I think she's gonna kill her. And because she's reanimated flesh, I think she's probably gonna take can take quite a beating.

SPEAKER_00

Fab.

SPEAKER_05

Also, Pearl is susceptible to whatever is quarantining the urban thing, and the bride of Frankenstein is not.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there you go. This is true. Okay. The bride wins.

SPEAKER_05

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Next. First sequel ever made. First horror sequel ever made.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Totally. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Pearl was?

SPEAKER_00

Who was the first horror sequel?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. We have Jaws. Yes. Are we doing the shark from Jaws 2? Because they're two different sharks.

SPEAKER_05

It is the shark from Jaws 2.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Versus the leprechaun. Oh boy.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, but where? This is the.

SPEAKER_04

Where are they?

SPEAKER_01

Please let them be in a daytime shopping mall.

SPEAKER_04

They are going to be fighting at the hillbilly swamp.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So we got the swamp.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So there's Jaws is in the swamp. Okay. Uh like he's got magic.

SPEAKER_05

He's got magic. Uh the only thing that hurts leprechaun is wrought iron. But wait, but hillbillies love wrought iron. There's a lot of, yeah, there's a lot of wrought iron around.

SPEAKER_01

According to Leprechaun 2, wrought iron is everywhere. Sure. And everyone knows how to identify it on site.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And remembers when things are made of wrought. That I could I watch Leprechaun 2 for the first time. I've never seen Leprechaun. I'm watching the movie, and every time they say wrought iron, I'm like, what? I've never like once looked at something and been like, when he's like, oh, there's a huge safe in there that's made of how do you know what the safe is made of?

SPEAKER_04

Does Jennifer Aniston use it is Jennifer Aniston right at all? In the first one. In the first one. Does she use wrought iron at all in the first one?

SPEAKER_01

I think it's a big plot point in the second one.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I think Jaws loses, sadly. Like, I think there's just no way he can't manipulate magic. Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

No, but he's they've shown Jaws Leprechaun won. I don't know if he understood any of it, but he saw the movie.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. I still think he loses.

SPEAKER_04

So Jaws, is there any chance that the leprechaun drops some of his gold? Because he's pretty he's obsessed with this gold, but he's constantly dropping it. And so if he if Jaws manages to eat one of them.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I doesn't that just give the leprechaun a bigger incentive to tear Jaws apart?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, but he can't hurt somebody who's stolen his gold.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_04

And so if Jaws manages to eat the leprechaun's gold, he'll be invulnerable for the length of the fight. And then he'll need to just hope that the leprechaun stumbles into wrought iron.

SPEAKER_05

So okay, okay, you're on to something. Uh the leprechaun was clearly spawned with his pot of gold.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Would he just leave it laying around when there's hillbillies about? Yeah, there's so. Yeah. And Jaws is gonna want to eat the leprechaun, and he's not gonna be. He's like a very small guy. Yeah. If he eats them, he's gonna eat all of them. Jaws is very non discerning with what he eats.

SPEAKER_00

But Jaws has to get to the leprechaun. Yes. Sure. The leprechaun. Can like easily just not go in the water.

SPEAKER_01

And also just cast it. Well, because the only way to really beat the leprechaun's magic is to because he he lives by a very strict set of rules.

SPEAKER_05

Just like Liam Neeson.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Um The Leprechaun is basically Liam Neeson. Um he lives by a very strict set of rules, but people can manipulate him out of those rules. Also, he can get drunk, which is a huge weakness in my point of view. So the hillbillies could get him drunk. But just throw him in the water, feed him to Jaws. Yeah, or the hillbillies on Jaws' side.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, the wow. I feel like the hillbillies, the the the leprechaun would manipulate hillbillies.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he could trick he could be like, I have this pot of gold. I could see they would hate him. They would want to kill him.

SPEAKER_05

Right, because he's so annoying. This is the foreigner. He might get tossed into the swamp for his bad behavior. Yeah. Yeah. In which case, Jaws would take it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no.

SPEAKER_05

All he has to do is chomp him. Once he's chomped, he's at least battlefield removed.

SPEAKER_01

I still feel like barring all these extenuating circumstances where the hillbillies get the leprechaun drunk and toss him into the swamp. I think that the leprechaun can just make something out of nothing. Like, what's that called when you there's like a word for that? It's like one of the telepathic words.

SPEAKER_04

I can't think of it, but trans configuration.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, where you can just like kind of create whatever you want.

SPEAKER_05

Matter manipulation.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I feel like you can't.

SPEAKER_00

I think ClaperCon takes it.

SPEAKER_01

Minus manipulation from other people and his little rules. He has almost unlimited abilities.

SPEAKER_05

But how is he going to hurt Jaws?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like he could just explode him with his mind.

SPEAKER_05

We we never see that though. We never has to be something kind of comical. I feel like he would go to the end of the dock.

SPEAKER_01

He could maybe like, sorry, continue.

SPEAKER_05

And just like, you know, make himself into like little fishermen or something and like cast it out. And then Jaws would just chomp him because he'd underestimate him. It's a giant fucking shark.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility that one of the leprechaun's powers is he could remove all the water from the swamp.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah. He's got like cartoon powers. If he just like pulled the plug on the swamp, it would drain. Oh yeah.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we're calling it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Hillbillies be damned.

SPEAKER_01

Hillbillies be damned.

SPEAKER_04

I tried.

SPEAKER_01

I would like to see the Leprechaun try moving.

SPEAKER_05

I just want to see Jaws get past the first round for watching this.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_04

Next year. Next summer. I was excited with Swamp because when I picture it, it's a hillbilly shack on a dock surrounded by water.

SPEAKER_05

Water is everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Not quite as like, I guess.

SPEAKER_04

It's like a marsh. Well, yeah. It's shallow water. Yeah. Jaws is only kind of in it. He's got a like out.

SPEAKER_00

Next summer we'll do a scary scuffle only with water monsters. That would be good. And then Shaz will have a chance. We'll see about that.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, Kate. Okay,

Peachfuzz Vs Jason Then Cop Debate

SPEAKER_01

next up we got Peach Fuzz.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Versus Peach Fuzz from Creep 2. Creep 2. Jason Voorhees.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, this is Peach Fuzz, hands down.

SPEAKER_00

Does he have the mask on?

SPEAKER_04

They will be fighting.

SPEAKER_00

He does not have the mask in the second movie.

SPEAKER_04

In a derelict spaceship.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, no gravity. Jason gets the mask in the third movie.

SPEAKER_01

I was asking if Peach Fuzz has his mask on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He has the mask on. So no gravity.

SPEAKER_05

No gravity.

SPEAKER_01

Serial killer versus serial killer, but one of them is already dead. Yeah. I guess. Wait, my first question is because I've heard people have different uh different opinions about this. In Friday the 13th, too, do you think Jason is a supernatural being? No.

SPEAKER_05

He is not. Definitively not. Well, sorry. He is not this massive juggernaut zombie.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So he's not. So in the second one, you don't view him as a kid that drowned and came back to life. Instead, he is a kid that has been living in the lakeslash woods.

SPEAKER_00

I think regardless of the origin story, because we're gonna get in that will be like a huge side tangent. Sure. His abilities are that of a man in the second movie.

SPEAKER_05

I'd say he's on par with Michael Myers for Yeah, slightly elevated man. I think I think he is un I think he's undead. Because he's still yeah, like you can't living in the water. Yeah, I think he's I think he is supernatural. I'm thinking about it.

SPEAKER_00

But he doesn't present any special skills from that.

SPEAKER_05

He's just not like again crazy indestructible. You can take him down with like a bat and a sweater vest.

SPEAKER_00

That's all you need. And some purity, you know what I'm saying? Yep. Um technically Peach Fuzz Peach Fuzz has in the second one. Yeah, very true.

SPEAKER_05

Peach Fuzz would talk the fuck out of him.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's why it's like a question of because But he wouldn't care. Yeah, because it's not listening. Peach Fuzz's abilities stem from the fact that he f befriends people, charms them somehow, or in the second one just meets someone that matches his crazy.

SPEAKER_04

It's specifically Peach Fuzz. So that makes me think that he's like actively put the mask on. Yes, and is and is kind of ranting and crazy. Yeah. Not like the first movie where he's kind of there are moments where you're like, he seems alright. Like he's a little off, but he's you know, he's kind of likable.

SPEAKER_05

In creep two, he does also have a pistol. He can pop off some shots. He could. It's not gonna do anything, but he can.

SPEAKER_04

And as I argued earlier with Alan, he survives a hit from a from a shovel. Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_01

When does he have a gun in Creep 2?

SPEAKER_04

Doesn't he sh doesn't he shoot?

SPEAKER_01

I just watched it.

SPEAKER_04

I thought he shoots her. Oh, maybe you're thinking because I thought he got shot.

SPEAKER_01

No, he stabs him.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I'm thinking of. Sorry, we had a d what what's the what's the phenomena called where you have like a shared Mundal Mundal. Yes, a shared mass delusion.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Because we were talking about, yeah, Peach Fuzz surviving a gunshot wound, and then there's no guns in the entire movie. Uh yes, okay. Peach fuzz can survive a single shovel hit.

SPEAKER_01

And several stabs to his abdomen.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Which also Jason can. Yes. But I will say, Jason eventually, right, in the first two movies, is like put like he doesn't ultimately defeat every or I guess in the second movie, he doesn't ultimately defeat. So if a random teenager could survive it, why couldn't a serial killer?

SPEAKER_01

Well, because I think in the second one, the random teenager in the first one at least the random teenager survives because help gets there right away.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but that's sort of a special case, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then the second one, it's almost a special case because she finds they are in his turf where she finds his mother's altar. Whereas if she had not found that, I don't think she would have survived. In a derelict spaceship, I don't think we're gonna find Pamela Voorhees Sweather and severed head.

SPEAKER_00

But you but you're with somebody who is more who's more like cunning in the spaceship. Sure, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's one of the spaceships where we've put all of our great cultural accomplishments in Pamela Voorhees' head.

SPEAKER_00

I think this is sort of like similar to the Pearl Bride matchup a little bit, because you have one who is like a little bit of a maniac, and then you have one who's definitely slightly stronger, but is less like aware of what's happening.

SPEAKER_01

Do we think that Jason Voorhees is so desperate for friends that Peach Fuzz could manipulate him?

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like Peach Fuzz would choose to trust him at some point, and then Jason would get stabby.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think Jason ultimately I feel like most of what happens with Jason is that they confuse him for about 30 seconds, and in any other situation you can use that to your advantage. But if we're just kind of mindlessly floating through space, I don't know. I think they would make out.

SPEAKER_05

Mask to mask.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Abby's gonna write a fan fiction after this. He's wearing like a bag. Yeah, it's a bag. Just one eye hole.

SPEAKER_05

That's a mask.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but it's you know, you can't like not really he doesn't put it on as a mask behind it, just gets trapped in it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And leaves it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh silly.

SPEAKER_04

I really think Peach Fuzz wins. I I don't I just think that that like Jason. Walk me through the scenario and how does it go down?

SPEAKER_05

Walk us through it.

SPEAKER_04

What triggers Jason? Jason is triggered by horny teenagers.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And there are just none of those in space.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, there's probably plenty, just not there. Well, maybe I shouldn't.

SPEAKER_01

You think there are plenty of horny teenagers in space?

SPEAKER_00

There's lots of aliens in space. Yeah, they could be horny.

SPEAKER_01

I think the question though is because if we're doing it off of they need to kill each other, like they know they need to kill each other. Because then you could argue a lot of these are like, well, they're not going to do anything because this doesn't pertain to their movie or rules.

SPEAKER_05

In which case they would just die of exposure and Jason would win.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But because he does go to space. That's a later feat.

SPEAKER_01

We can just say I think that mentally, I feel like for some reason, mentally Peach Fuzz would be thrown off by the no gravity, whereas Jason would be like, okay, cool, I've lived in water for a long time. This is just like swimming.

SPEAKER_05

That's a great point.

SPEAKER_01

So I don't think it would give him as much pause as it would Peach Fuzz. That's true.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and not that we can bring in later feats, but Jason does do great in space.

SPEAKER_00

I I think it's gotta be Jason. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_04

All right, I'll take it.

SPEAKER_05

Honorable mention Peach Fuzz.

SPEAKER_01

Peach Fuzz. Okay. Next up, Hannibal versus Maniac Cop.

unknown

Oh boy.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, uh, Dan, where are we fighting?

SPEAKER_04

They are going to be fighting in a suburban neighborhood.

SPEAKER_01

A classic.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, Maniac Cop basically survives his own autopsy.

SPEAKER_01

Maniac cop survives in an yeah, autopsy, he's buried, he's burned, he's shot. He's a maniac. But the question is, if Hannibal were to somehow subdue him, which I don't think he could, if he were, and he were to eat his brain. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He would certainly do that.

SPEAKER_01

With his function.

SPEAKER_00

He would get, yeah. But he would defeat him. He would. I agree though, it's like, how do you possibly sub get close enough to subdue him? Unless he like poisons his food because Hannibal is quite smart.

SPEAKER_01

This is true. Hannibal is quite smart. And in the second maniac cop movie, Maniacop enters a pseudo-gay relationship with a man, a serial killer. Do we think Hannibal could romance Maniacop?

SPEAKER_00

He could romance anything.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what's going on in Maniac Cop too with that weird subplot with that second serial killer that like falls in love with Maniac Cop. I loved it. I loved every second of it.

SPEAKER_00

But it's a it's good. It's good for us to talk about it. But relevant here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is what the people need to hear. We do know that Maniacop can befriend people. Right. At least for a short amount of time.

SPEAKER_04

But Maniac Cop knows he needs to kill Hannibal.

SPEAKER_00

This is true. But Hannibal is one of the world's leading seductresses and thinkers.

SPEAKER_01

And the psychologist. So would he be able to get to the mental Could he treat Maniac Cop?

SPEAKER_05

Ooh, Maniac Copia's because he feels he's been wronged. Exactly. I mean, because he was wronged.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

They murdered him for something.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they put him in jail, and then the people he put in jail murdered him.

SPEAKER_05

But he why did he get put in jail?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like something happened. Was it he was got like a I'm trying to remember if he was like a little rough with a criminal and then they like put it, they set him up for it. Hold on.

SPEAKER_00

Only they did that. Now it's just a little rough.

SPEAKER_01

I can't remember what it was.

SPEAKER_04

I only watched the second. I didn't watch the first one.

SPEAKER_01

I did watch the first one. I just can't I know he was set up.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he I know he was he was definitely set up. I'm trying to remember if it was like if he was completely innocent and framed, but I don't remember. Not that it really matters. Uh Hannibal's incredible.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yep. And then he became a corrupt. I think Hannibal takes it.

SPEAKER_00

Really? I think he's so smart. He like he's the smartest villain here.

SPEAKER_01

But the time it would take. So if Maniac Cop knows that he needs to kill Hannibal, the time it takes Hannibal to get to Maniac Cop and to start talking at him actually again? In a suburb?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. Suburban neighborhood.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so he doesn't have a great place to be safe, I guess, while he has this conversation.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I I I feel like as soon as Maniac Cop sees Hannibal, he shoots him.

SPEAKER_04

But he's a master of disguise, as we see in in the end of Silence of the Lambs. He's quite good at at like blending in. But then puts on that little fedories, basically invisible.

SPEAKER_01

But I feel like in the second maniac cop, Maniacop stops killing just corrupt people. He just kind of kills people. So I don't know if he would care about the people in the suburbs.

SPEAKER_05

It's a it's a tough call because like Hannibal could start taking hostages. Like the the how there's people in the houses.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I don't think Maniacop cares.

SPEAKER_05

He is a maniac cop.

SPEAKER_01

Uh like and in the second one, someone is robbing a like convenience store and he shoots the guy in the convenience store, not the robber.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, there's there's some dubious.

SPEAKER_01

So he is killing innocent people. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's complicated. If Hannibal's good at manipulating any kind of person, it is law enforcement officials.

SPEAKER_05

Great point. Great point. So but how would Hannibal take out Maniac Cop?

SPEAKER_01

That's the question. Is that well, I guess after manipulating him, he'd just eat him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I guess if he doesn't have poison on him, right? Because we have but he's in a super neighborhood. He's got Draeno. Yeah. Yeah. So he's just Draeno's gonna take out another one. I think he would poison him.

SPEAKER_05

Or he could push him into the pool.

SPEAKER_01

Is Maniac Cop immune to poison? No. He can swim Maniac Cop. He goes underwater in the truck in this in the first one. Oh no. Alright. Because I just think I think that Hannibal would be able to outsmart Maniac Cop. I just think Maniac Cop is almost impossible to kill. And then the time we figure that out.

SPEAKER_05

There is a world where Hannibal convinces him to kill himself.

SPEAKER_01

But how?

SPEAKER_05

Just oh I mean he did it to the guy next to him.

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean how does Maniacop kill himself?

SPEAKER_05

Like he's not immortal. He's just stupidly durable. He just shrugs off into. Could he hang himself? I think if he wants, like, you know, if the plot demanded he kill himself, I think he could.

SPEAKER_04

Hannibal convinces his cellmate to k to hang himself. Yes. If Hannibal could do that to Maniac Cop, and we presume that Maniac Cop needs oxygen. Everybody needs to breathe.

SPEAKER_00

At this point, it's just about how much time he has to do that.

SPEAKER_01

And I just feel like if by the time Hannibal approaches Maniac Cop, I think Maniac Cop just acts and just kills him. Hannibal is just a guy.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, vote. 3-2-1. Who thinks Hannibal would win? Oh, we're tied to the city. No, it's a tie.

SPEAKER_05

We haven't finished voting.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. 3-2-1, who thinks Maniac Cop would win?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, we're tied.

SPEAKER_00

So we are at a bit of a standstill, I would say, between Hannibal and Maniac Cop. So we've we've texted Kate's dad, who is the only person any of us knew that would have watched these movies and knew what was going on enough to vote. That's all the credentials required, really.

SPEAKER_01

Um his response was I said who would win in the fight, Maniac Cop or Hannibal Lecter? And he said Maniac Cop, super strong and undead, and police training. Police training. Which is probably the first time I've heard my dad use police training as a positive.

SPEAKER_04

Do we think we have a deciding vote?

SPEAKER_05

That is the deciding vote.

SPEAKER_04

And we're not arguing.

SPEAKER_00

So Maniac Cop has more cop ones.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

You voted for Maniac Cop.

SPEAKER_04

I know. What's going on? While I was during the break, we got to eat and reset a little bit. I had to. And your senses came back to you.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we could do a revote.

SPEAKER_04

No, because the I I think we've all right.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, we've settled. All right, Kate.

SPEAKER_01

Next, next pairing. Next up, we've got Jigsaw. Okay. Versus five zombies from Dawn of the Dead.

SPEAKER_00

That's so good.

SPEAKER_01

So we've got a cancer-riddled old man versus five of the lamest zombies I've ever seen.

SPEAKER_00

That can't like follow direction. Hang on, hang on.

SPEAKER_05

Where's this?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, where is this happening? Most importantly, they have to fight at a graveyard, which I think puts Jigsaw at a decent disadvantage.

SPEAKER_05

There's not a lot of tools to build traps.

SPEAKER_01

True. It's just the thing is that I'm watching okay, so I watched Dawn of the Dead. I rewatched it for this because I hadn't seen it in years. Any zombie that you can get close enough to punch in the face, which happens multiple times in this movie, they are punching zombies, is a really bad zombie. They're very bad zombies. It just hit them. But Jigsaw is short. Is he? He's good.

SPEAKER_00

We're talking about the guy. Yeah, the puppet's on heavy.

SPEAKER_05

He's got his choice in animals. He does have his equipment, so he has the puppet with tricycle. That makes a big difference. He has a TV with a VHS take.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And a recording of him proposing a puzzle. He has a camera so he can make the video. Nothing was made ahead of time.

SPEAKER_01

Like he can't, he hasn't set up any traps in the screen. Oh, oh, question. Yeah. And I don't know. We're doing Day of the Dead, so there's no point in this. But to not to bring in the whole other movie. In World War Z, they argue that the zombies don't go after people who are already sick. Are we gonna give that to other zombies as well? No, they're they don't they're just too stupid to realize they shouldn't inhabit.

SPEAKER_05

They are absolute idiots.

SPEAKER_01

And okay, then I think the in I really thought these zombies would go out faster because they're awful zombies, but I think jigsaw.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, all you guys do is find one open grave and just lure them on the other side and they'll just fall into it.

SPEAKER_00

But like that's what they'll fall like three feet into the ground. Six feet. Yeah, I don't think they could get out.

SPEAKER_04

TKO by he could just cover them with dirt slowly.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it would take a while, but he could do it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. They're really bad zombies.

SPEAKER_05

They're really bad zombies.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so Jigsaw.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. All right. Wow. And he's I mean, does he have his oxygen tank?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, sure. Okay. Jigsaw took out Freddie Krueger last year. Or last time.

SPEAKER_01

Jigsaw took out Freddie Kruger?

SPEAKER_04

Uh because I really like Jigsaw.

SPEAKER_00

Did you re-listen or do you remember that?

SPEAKER_04

I don't remember that. Because Pete Pete was mad at me though.

SPEAKER_02

Because that's insane.

SPEAKER_04

A friend of ours was not thrilled. My my well, the thing was that I assumed if they went into a dream that he would come up with a scenario in his dream that would kill Freddie Kruger.

SPEAKER_01

It was like talking lucid dream? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I stand by it and I like Jigsaw and I want him to make it to as many rounds as possible.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair. I think in this case the zombies are so bad. Yeah, give it to Jigsaw. Alright. So we have two more uh first rounds here. Yep. Okay, next up.

Pinhead Vs Candyman Then Upsets

SPEAKER_01

Candyman versus Pinhead.

SPEAKER_05

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good matchup.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, where's it happening?

SPEAKER_04

They are fighting in a haunted insane asylum.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I thought wonderful.

SPEAKER_04

This would be this is the movie we gotta make.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

A lot of layers to this one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Pinhead is alone.

SPEAKER_05

Pinhead is alone. He's the only cinnabite there. Yep. Uh his starting equipment, he does have the puzzle box. Okay. So if Candyman manipulated it, he could send him back, but Candyman only has one hand.

SPEAKER_01

This is true.

SPEAKER_05

He's not solving a puzzle.

SPEAKER_04

One of the least likely people to try and pick up a puzzle box.

SPEAKER_05

Second only to Jaws.

SPEAKER_01

And we're and both have been, I mean, we're not basing off of any summoning laws on either of them. They're both there. They're both. They're both there.

SPEAKER_05

They can both be unsummoned, but they are both there.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And they both want to be there to win.

SPEAKER_01

And they both have the abilities they have when summoned.

SPEAKER_05

How does one unsummon Candyman?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think you can. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I think you You just die.

SPEAKER_00

You either summon him away, perhaps.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. But I feel like in the in both Candymans, he is summoned by one person who he chooses. That's going to be the long game. And then he's summoned numerous times by other people. But that is a good question. If someone were to summon Candyman during this fight, would he have to leave, or do you think he could put a pause on that? Is there a time limit on when he has to murder the person who summons? Does, yeah, does even if he has to leave, he still has to come back. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_05

Does Pinhead have a cell phone? Because then he could call someone to summon Candy.

SPEAKER_01

How is he gonna hold a cell phone up? He's got the pin sticking out. Speakerphone.

SPEAKER_05

Speakerphone. Yeah. You're right. AirPods.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I guess in in this case, you either have to Oh, well, okay, if we're giving Pinhead the disadvantage of having his puzzle box, which could be used to unsummon him, does Candyman also have his mirror that can be used to destroy him? Yeah. Because in the second one, the mirror Okay. So it's just kind of a battle of who can get their hands on the other object fast enough. Can who's a faster sprinter? Do they each know the other the object?

SPEAKER_05

We never see Candyman move. No. He just teleports around.

SPEAKER_01

He's just Yeah, he just kind of stands there and learns. Well, okay, is Pinhead because Pinhead is human, technically.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, Pinhead, but he's a floater.

SPEAKER_01

He is a floater. Sure.

SPEAKER_04

We're losing both hooks at once at the end of this.

SPEAKER_05

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_04

We've got hook hand versus chained. Yeah. That's yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean Oh, I was gonna say, because uh Pinhead can kill you from afar if he sends out his Candyman in the second Candyman movie only ever kills people by stabbing them from behind.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. And that that's when they're like in a mirror. So if they are starting away from each other, the only way that Candyman can appear near Pinhead is if he's summoned. Or I guess if he just casually walks.

SPEAKER_01

And unless you remind Pinhead he's a human, can he really die if he were to be stabbed?

SPEAKER_05

Same deal. Would he enjoy it? Well, you could certainly, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, definitely.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you could fuck up his body enough where he you get a TKO, but he can't kill him, kill him.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I mean, Candyman, you know, generational trauma. Could easily bring up World War two or one that Pinhead is from. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

You think that Candyman could remind Pinhead of his trauma enough to get him to turn back into a person?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Because he doesn't have that basis.

SPEAKER_05

Does Candyman even know about it?

SPEAKER_01

But you don't know that in the first movie.

SPEAKER_00

They've only seen the first movie? They've seen the first movie.

SPEAKER_04

Anyone has a beef with the British colonial power. It's candy man.

SPEAKER_05

This is quite the tangent. Um I think he's gonna hit him with the fish hooks.

SPEAKER_00

I think from far I think I think Penhead wins this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But he can send the bees, which are gonna do nothing. Yeah, he's covered in the middle. He likes it.

SPEAKER_01

But I think ticklish to him. How do you have to kill? I guess like, are the hooks just gonna Rip Candy Man's body apart enough that he can. Okay. But then yeah, I guess Pinhead.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Even though Pinhead isn't like the main villain in the second one.

SPEAKER_04

No, he's not. It's a big thing.

SPEAKER_01

They make him like a victim.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Last matchup. Okay. I don't even know who's left. Last matchup of the first rounds. Yeah, you know one group that's left. We got Pumpkinhead.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh.

SPEAKER_01

Versus five gremlins.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we have Pumpkin Head versus Five Gremlins. And where are they fighting?

SPEAKER_04

Hillbilly Swamp, Hillbilly Swamp. Oh, so close. Spring break beach town.

SPEAKER_01

So close to Hillbury.

SPEAKER_05

So I will say the Gremlins will thrive in Springbreak Beach Town. Oh, yeah. Chaos everywhere. Yeah. Only second to daytime mall. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

This is true.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Uh this is not quite the straightforward matchup or the slaughter fest that I was expecting, because in Gremlins 2, they're not just like little little buggers. They they have some abilities.

SPEAKER_01

Some of them have abilities. So are we saying they have the like have they drank the genetic serums that give them the abilities in this matchup? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Tell us, tell us some of their abilities. Okay. So the main abilities are one gets really, really smart. So he gets very like cunning and manipulative. He can talk. He can figure things out. He can out smart people. That didn't really serve Hannibal well. This is true. This is true. One becomes a woman. Okay. So like up there. Um, and one becomes a being of pure energy. Like electricity. Sorry, being of pure electricity. Okay. So it has electrical powers. Sure.

SPEAKER_00

But can it okay? So it can like shock water. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I think we're we're forgetting that we're at a beaks beachside spring break party festival.

SPEAKER_01

Which is very sunny and the gremlins cannot go into sunlight.

SPEAKER_05

But it's it's nighttime.

SPEAKER_01

It's nighttime?

SPEAKER_05

It's nighttime unless specified.

SPEAKER_01

But this seems like it would be daytime. I I agree. Yeah, like I feel like you see spring break, you think sunny. Yeah. It's always sunny during spring break. Always.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, okay. Especially at days. I'll allow it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, great.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, but so it's but they could go into daytime.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they can be inside.

SPEAKER_05

They can hide. Can they hide long enough? Can they hide 12 hours for it to get dark?

SPEAKER_04

Well, they don't need to. If if if they're these are gremlins, right? Yes. They want to have a good time. This is true. They take over a seaside bar. Uh-huh. They're playing loud music, throwing glasses across the room, in walks Pumpkinhead.

SPEAKER_01

I forgot Pumpkinhead was here, honestly. We've been talking about the Gremlins for so long.

SPEAKER_04

The gremlins fight on themselves. Pumpkinhead is invulnerable, super strong. Who summoned Pumpkinhead? Did one of the Gremlins summon Pumpkinhead? Uh we did.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the question the question is if that's why I was asking before, because some of these people strive, like they thrive basically just on their rules. Like Pumpkinhead seeks only revenge, but in this case, we're saying he's bypassing that. Yeah, yeah. And he is now just trying to kill the gremlins.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, we'll say one of the gremlins took his wallet.

SPEAKER_01

Question is can Pumpkinhead tilt his head far enough down to see the Gremlins?

SPEAKER_05

In base state? No.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, I feel like his anatomy wouldn't allow him to reach the size of Gremlins.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, at first, but because there's water everywhere, all they have to do is get wet and they get back.

SPEAKER_01

You're right.

SPEAKER_05

And they turn into their like super combat mode.

SPEAKER_01

This is true. They just have to eat, get wet.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, they have to eat. So there's spring break.

SPEAKER_01

There's food everywhere.

SPEAKER_04

There are five of these Kremlins.

SPEAKER_01

Soon to be more.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. I think Pumpkin Head doesn't do well against numbers. I think he's very zoned in. I think he would try and attack one of them and then get shanked from behind.

SPEAKER_05

He's kind of a juggernaut.

SPEAKER_00

But how do you kill him? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I mean just constant abuse from energy shocks. I don't know. That's true.

SPEAKER_01

You could do that, you could do the electric shocks, or I guess if you get enough gremlins, I'm like picturing 50 gremlins jumping on. Jumping on pumpkin head and just like eating him. I think he would just eat them.

SPEAKER_05

What happens when you put a gremlin in the ocean?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're gonna be like they're gonna be so many of them multiplying.

SPEAKER_05

You would get a tsunami of gremlins.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just like well, there's gonna be well now we've entered the world where there's more than five of them. Yeah. So like if there's like 70 of them, could they over? But I guess you could just kind of like He's so strong. Yeah, he's very strong, and he's really really hard to kill. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, okay.

SPEAKER_01

So But he's also a person.

SPEAKER_05

I'm reminded of my time in Costa Rica.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Sure. Tell us.

SPEAKER_05

Watching a giant armored scorpion have to fight off hundreds of ants. And it went on for like hours. And like the ants can't do anything.

SPEAKER_00

And then you watched it for hours?

SPEAKER_05

No, like we saw it happening in the beginning and then we came back. And by the very end of it, like the scorpion was in pieces. Because they all they have to do is get like the little like they just gnaw their little teeth into his joints.

SPEAKER_04

But we did sort of make a little bit of a leap, which is that we're saying the gremlins hang out inside a bar.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Obviously.

SPEAKER_04

Wait until nighttime. Yes. Then reproduce. But but the pumpkin head could come into the bar. Oh, you're saying they're they have water, so they can like will beer count?

SPEAKER_05

Sure. Yeah, they've they have running water. They have a sink. The New York Times.

SPEAKER_01

But is it just water or they just can't get wet?

SPEAKER_05

You just can't get wet.

SPEAKER_01

So if someone's like pouring body shots on them.

SPEAKER_05

Ooh, cake stand.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's a lot of liquids flying around at spring break. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's true. That's true. Abby would know.

SPEAKER_00

I've actually never been to spring break, but I've seen the videos. The videos? The videos.

SPEAKER_01

Of my friends when they went to spring break. Gremlins on spring break. Yeah. I don't. It's tricky because pumpkin head is so big, and I feel like he could just step on them or pop them in his mouth. But I also feel like he's really stupid, and if there's enough gremlins, they could just overtake his whole body.

SPEAKER_05

Don't see him killing all five before one the smart one is like, oh shit, let me run and reproduce.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Or the girl.

SPEAKER_05

Like I said, the smart one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Now let's vote. All in favor of the gremlins. Raise your hand. All right. So unfortunate.

SPEAKER_05

So for everyone who wasn't in the room, everyone just voted for gremlins.

SPEAKER_00

So, question now for the next round, is it five gremlins or is it 70 gremlins? I think it's five gremlins with the idea that they can still reproduce. Okay. We have officially gone through our first round.
