A Season of Consequences

As I woke up this morning, what I heard went something like this, “This is as the Ninth of Av for the Church in America.” For those who may not be familiar with the “Ninth of Av,” Av is a month on the Hebrew Calendar. It usually falls in a July/August time frame on our modern calendar. The Ninth day of Av was a significant decision day in the History of Israel. It has been referred to as “the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.” 

Numbers, Chapters 13 and 14, offer the Biblical account of a consequential decision that Israel made on the Ninth of Av that has impacted history from its origin in 1313 BC even into the modern era.

In this, I believe that Holy Spirit is sending a “Love Warning” from the heart of God, to His Covenant Children in America.

Tuesday, November 5th is a Ninth of Av day for America. It is a decision day that will have generational consequences. But it is a day that God will use to give us victory if we will take up and use the weapon He has placed in our hand.

Gideon won a war with jars and trumpets. David won a battle with a rock. In this season, God has given His people a vote. Our vote on November 5th is a weapon of Spiritual warfare. Israel failed to pick up its weapons on the Ninth of Av, and the rest is history.

If the Church in America will vote, and vote Biblical values, it will have generational consequences for good. It will open a portal of blessing over decades to come.

A Season of Consequence

As I woke up this morning, what I heard went something like this, “This is as the Ninth of Av for the Church in America.” For those who may not be familiar with the “Ninth of Av,” Av is a month on the Hebrew Calendar. It usually falls in a July/August time frame on our modern calendar. The Ninth day of Av was a significant decision day in the History of Israel. It has been referred to as “the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.” 

Numbers, Chapters 13 and 14, offer the Biblical account of a consequential decision that Israel made on the Ninth of Av that has impacted history from its origin in 1313 BC even into the modern era.

The website holocaustremembranceassociation.org/the-ninth-of-av/ offers this historical perspective of the Ninth of Av through the ages. Briefly,  some significant historical events that have occurred on the Ninth of Av are as follows:

• it all started in 1313 BC when the spies returned from the promised land and scared the Israelites, who decided not to enter the land God promised them. This is why they wandered the desert for 40 years.
• On the ninth day of Av in 586 BC, the First Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians.
• The Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70 AD, also on the ninth of Av.
• On the ninth day of Av in 133 AD, Jewish rebels were brutally butchered in the final battle at Betar. (I would encourage you to web search “the battle of Betar. It is reported that in this battle the Romans went on a killing spree until their horses were submerged in blood.)
• One year after their conquest of Betar, the Romans plowed over the Temple Mount.
• The Jews were expelled from England in 1290. 
• On the 9th of Av 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain.
• On the 9th of Av 1914 -The First World War began. 
• The 9th of Av 1942 – The first killings started at Treblinka. Ultimately, 6 million Jews would perish.  

Some may say this is coincidence, But I am persuaded that it is the consequence of a Ninth of Av decision that has impacted generations and millennia of Jewish history. I am convinced that many who are aligned with the Church in America are on the verge of sinning the sin of the Ninth of Av.

This is not about the people. We need to get our eyes off people and personalities. Politics is about people; don’t let politicians become a source of frustration, confusion or fear. Israel focused on people and made a horrible decision. In the final analysis, this about conquering spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is about the utilizing the Mind of Christ and the weapons of our warfare as the Body of Christ to decide the Spiritual condition of our nation for generations to come. 

If the Church chooses not to vote it will open the door to a season of wilderness wandering and November 5, 2024 will come to be known as a very sad day in American history.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying.
