Speaker 1:

Today, I want to talk to you a little bit about having a support network that understands what you're trying to do in your business. I think that this is one of the most important things that you can do, not only in your business, but also in your life. It's important that you have someone or some people that you can go to when you have a question, when you're doubting yourself, when you need support from others, and I think, when it comes to online business, this is one of the most important things that you can have. Sometimes you need to find this through Facebook groups. You need to find this through getting involved in free opportunities like summits getting involved in free opportunities like summits, or you can join a paid group, like my insiders group. But what you really need to understand is, when you're trying to find that tribe of people, you need to make sure that their goals are aligned with yours, that you're not around people that are going to drag you down and serve you up with a bunch of negativity. You don't want to be in places Facebook groups in particular where everything is chicken little the sky is falling, the internet is breaking, the world of business is ending. What you want to do is. You want to find the people who are talking about the ways out of all of the fear, the ways that they are going to continue to grow their business with new strategies, that are willing to take the lumps, more or less, that they have been served and they're going to learn from it. There's a saying that I always like to say that you cannot and I say this to my kids all the time it's okay to fail as long as you fail forward. You have to be able to learn from it, and that is also the case when it comes to your online business. There are going to be things that you're going to do, strategies, platforms that you're going to join that you think are going to make all the difference in your business, and sometimes they're going to end up being a complete waste of time and you're going to hear scare tactics.

Speaker 1:

Perfect example is the whole TikTok ban. We watched it go away. For what? Eight hours. It looked like a PR stunt, really, but it's that fear that people will continue to put out there that your business can't continue to run, that if you built your business solely on TikTok, what are the ways out of that? What can you do to improve your business so that, if there ever is another TikTok ban or a shutdown of another platform, that your business would continue to survive. Over the past 15 years, I've watched a lot of platforms change. I've watched algorithms change, platforms change. I've watched algorithms change. I watch businesses come and go, and the one thing I can tell you is that those that survive are the ones that are looking to continue to improve what they are doing. If AI is the newest thing that their fear is out about, they're trying to figure out how to best use it that works for them and their business.

Speaker 1:

I want to push you to do this. Find ways that you can find different strategies and tips that are uplifting. If you are around people and this goes for in your real life too if you are around a bunch of negative Nancy's, it is going to bring you down. The energy is going to be different for you when you are around those people. Now, I'm not going to tell you that you need to cut these people out of your life, because sometimes it can be family, but what you do need to do is go into it with a particular mindset, knowing that you're probably going to get served up a lot of negativity and you need to take it like a grain of salt, right. You need to see it for what it is. It is nothing to do with the outcome of where your business is going to go or your life. It has to do with the way that they feel about their own lives and the way that they're scared about their own business.

Speaker 1:

So, instead of getting stuck in that fear mongering that has so become part of our society over the last 10 years, I want you to look, hopefully, towards what your business can become and I want you to start to build that business. Put the foundations, put the stairs in place so that you can get to where you want to be, and that really starts with goal setting. That's why, in the 90-day plan, we make sure that you understand your audience, your customer. What are you trying to serve them? How are you trying to serve them? What are you offering them and where do you want to take your business in the next 90 days? Them, what are you offering them and where do you want to take your business in the next 90 days? We also ask you to make a plan to look towards five years, that you have an idea of where you're trying to go, but in order to do that, you have to be able to set that 90-day goal setting with the projects and tasks that need to be get done that are in line with where you're trying to take your business.

Speaker 1:

So, if you're looking to speak internationally, you probably aren't spending a ton of time in Facebook groups. Why would you be doing that? That's not going to get you out there. Instead, potentially, you want to look at building a podcast, and how can you get on other shows? Potentially, if you don't have your own, what would it look like for you to build your own podcast and have that space where you're speaking continually and people can see that?

Speaker 1:

In order for your speaking opportunities, you need to start thinking about what's in line with where you want to go, instead of chasing the shiny objects that you hear everyone talking about. Oh, you got to get back on Pinterest. You got to pin 20 pins a day, but they all need to have new pictures and new descriptions. For some businesses, that may work, but for others, if you're trying to internationally speak, what is the point of getting all over Pinterest? You have to know why you're trying to internationally speak. What is the point of getting all over Pinterest. You have to know why you are trying to use Pinterest. Are you trying to get traffic Again? You know I hate that word, because traffic is not an audience. Traffic is I'm there and I'm gone. I'm not doing anything else. I'm never coming back. You lost me. Or are you instead using Pinterest to grow your email list? Are you offering up an opportunity for them to get onto your list in exchange for something that you offer? This is what we should be looking at Now.

Speaker 1:

The reason that I think that it is so important to surround yourself with the right people is because you cannot continually hear negativity. You cannot continually hear negativity. You have to have those that are looking towards the future with eyes wide open, ready to take it on. Yes, they've probably been served a couple different things in their lives. That's kind of made them maybe take a step back and wonder where they're, what they're doing and how they're doing it. And some weeks are not great compared to maybe others, but it's about how you approach it and how you overcome it. Those that are going to have a successful business are going to be able to overcome the setbacks, are going to be able to find different ways, and you want to surround yourself with people like that.

Speaker 1:

So if you are looking for a group of women that are looking towards the future, finding the strategies that are working for them and their business, definitely think about joining an Insiders. And if you're ready for a mastermind that is, a small group, six women that are meeting for six months, three times a month fill out the application to get involved in our next mastermind. Masterminds take you above and beyond. We make you set those goals for six months that you are looking to hit and we hold you accountable with a group of women that are looking towards the future of their business and where they can take it. So if you haven't already joined Insiders, definitely do. And if you already are Insiders, get in on the next mastermind. We're going to be running a new mastermind that is kicking off right before the spring kicks off, so make sure that if you're not in a mastermind yet, that you get in on one.
