Influencer Entrepreneurs: Marketing Tips to Make You More Visible

The Paradox of Craving Stability in an Ever-Changing Business Landscape

Subscriber Episode Jenny Melrose: Business Strategist Episode 64

Subscriber-only episode

The paradox of entrepreneurship often lies in the tension between embracing business evolution while craving personal stability. In this candid episode, I reveal my deep aversion to personal change – from my husband rearranging furniture to shifts in my children's behaviors – while simultaneously thriving in the constantly evolving landscape of digital business.

This contradiction highlights a crucial insight for entrepreneurs: while we cannot control external changes in algorithms, platforms, or technologies, we absolutely can create internal systems that provide stability amidst chaos. My success in producing hundreds of podcast episodes across multiple shows isn't accidental – it stems from deliberately constructed consistency, carefully designed processes, and a commitment to scheduled creation that withstands the turbulence of industry shifts.

The secret to navigating change without becoming overwhelmed lies in quarterly planning. By establishing 90-day goals that inform your projects, tasks, and daily schedule, you create a framework that allows for both consistency and adaptation. This approach provides the perfect balance – structured enough to maintain momentum, yet flexible enough for regular review and adjustment as market conditions evolve. Speaker 1:

Here's a little something you may not know about me and some of you might actually relate to this, but personally I hate change. I hate when my husband tries to move around the furniture. I hate when my kids went through a new stage, whether it was an attitude change, a tooth popping, a new group of friends tooth popping, a new group of friends not a fan, just really not a fan of change. And it's interesting to me that I ended up in the profession that I'm in, considering that change happens every single day in our businesses, whether it is change because of an algorithm on a social media platform or it's the introduction of AI. I'm very willing to put in changes and adapt to changes within my business. But when it comes to my personal life, I revolt against it to the point where I get angry with my husband over these kinds of things because I'm constantly dealing with it within my profession, within my online business world, I am putting on a happy face and actually kind of enjoying continuing to learn and find different strategies and new ways that I can impact my audience best. But I can tell you this I will push back, like the rest of them, when it comes to my personal life. I don't like when people change when I'm supposed to be going somewhere, if you move up the time, if you tell me you're running late. I like consistency, and I think that's also part of the reason that I enjoy the online business world, because I create a consistent schedule for myself, and you're going to notice me over the next couple weeks talking a lot about systems and processes, because this is a large part of why I have been able to run a successful business for so long online without needing someone to look over my shoulder or tell me what I need to be doing and when, without needing someone to look over my shoulder or tell me what I need to be doing and when. It's because I put consistency, a schedule in place and have systems and processes that I utilize in order to keep myself on schedule and being consistent with everything that I do. As you can probably notice, there's 400 some odd episodes for influencer entrepreneurs, and now Unhinged has. This is our 64th episode.

Speaker 1:

There's something about being consistent that makes me thrive within my business, and I think that that's a key thing that we need to really start to hold on to Is that change is inevitable when it comes to online businesses, but what we can actually impact is what we do with it and how we run our days. So, whether you're using specific days to do research, whether you're using certain times of days to see what's working, what's not, and what platforms you're consistently working on and trying to figure out the algorithm and what works best for your audience, I think it's important that you still create a schedule for yourself, and we're going to continue to talk about this Now. With a schedule, with that consistency also comes along the idea that you also need a 90-day plan of goals. What are you focusing on? And that's where that consistency is then driven from, because you have goals in mind, you have projects, you have tasks, and then those tasks become part of your schedule and the consistency that you're creating for yourself for that quarter, so that you can then review the numbers and take a look to see how you're going to fix the next 90 days for Q2 or Q3 or Q4, wherever you are at within your year.

Speaker 1:
