Influencer Entrepreneurs: Marketing Tips to Make You More Visible
Outworking Imposter Syndrome
Feeling like a fraud despite your accomplishments? That persistent voice asking "Who am I to be doing this?" affects entrepreneurs at every level. Today we tackle imposter syndrome head-on, revealing a powerful strategy that goes beyond positive thinking or forced confidence.
The solution lies in creating robust systems that carry you forward when self-doubt strikes. Whether you're hosting events, developing courses, or scaling your programs nationally, documented processes provide a reliable framework to fall back on during moments of uncertainty. By focusing on the mechanics of execution rather than questioning your qualifications, you can literally outwork imposter syndrome.
We explore practical approaches to building these systems, including leveraging AI as a research assistant (not a content creator) to help develop customized checklists for your specific business tools. Learn how to document connections between platforms like Leadpages, Kit, and Podia to create seamless workflows. These standard operating procedures don't just combat imposter syndrome—they simultaneously increase your business's value and transferability, creating an asset that could eventually be sold if that aligns with your goals.

The imposter syndrome that you go through is a real thing, but there is a way to actually outwork it, to get past that feeling as if you are a fraud. No matter what it is that you do, you are going to run into imposter syndrome, wondering who am I to be teaching this? Who am I to be speaking on this? Who am I to be hosting my own event or putting together my own course or my own curriculum or taking my program national? Am I really that right person for that job, for taking on that role? And what you need to understand is that, heck, yes, you are. You are that person, you have that experience. You can sell your business if you feel that that's the need that you want to, but what you need to do is make sure that you have systems in place so that it makes it easier to do these things. Whether you are hosting an event, whether you're putting together a course, whether you're putting together a curriculum, whether you're trying to take your programs national, you have to have systems in place so that when the imposter syndrome sneaks in, you can just rely on the systems. That's the outworking that will get you through the imposter syndrome being able to rely on the systems, the projects and tasks that you have put in place in order to hit the goals that you are trying to accomplish. And some of the goals that I hear insiders talking about are very lofty and exciting. Not over the top can't happen. They are pushing themselves to hit those goals and be able to have the life that they want for themselves and for their family members. Even if you were thinking of taking a complete pivot in your business and starting an entirely new business, you can do this. You just have to put the systems in place to make it simpler, so that when you start to question yourself, you can go back to those systems and work through them. So how do we go about making sure that we have systems in place? Well, the first thing you need to do is you need to make sure that you are recording what you are doing If you are setting up a funnel, if you are setting up an automation, if you are doing a sales page. The second thing that you need to be doing is making sure that you are using AI to help you. There is no reason that you should be trying to do all of this on your own.
Speaker 1:I am not telling you to use AI to create your content. What I am telling you is use AI to help you research. Ask it what would be a good system to set up a funnel and ask it for a checklist. See what it will spit out for you. Tell it the specific programs and software that you use in your business so that it can help you set up that system. So let's say, for example, you use Leadpages and Kit. This is, of course, what I use. From those of you that are familiar with the way that I run my business, I use both of those programs and in order to use those, there are very specific things I need to do on Leadpages in order to connect it to Kit. And then I also use Podia and I use Podia as my cart.
Speaker 1:So I would ask AI how do I set up what would be an automation that I can create a system for myself using kit, lead pages and Podia, and get a checklist from it of what it is expecting, and then you can tweak it based on what you see, because you've done it before. You've put a funnel into place in your business in the past. See if there's certain ways that you can adjust it. Have a conversation. No, I don't use Podia in order to have a sales page. I use Podia only as my cart so that it's easier for my affiliates to be able to promote the products as well.
Speaker 1:Whatever it is, in whichever way you are using that software, that way your checklist can be edited and it makes it that much simpler, when you start to question yourself, to be able to go back and rely on the system that you put in place. This also does something else. By having these systems, these checklists, these actual ways in which you are doing things SOPs it makes it simpler for you to be able to sell your business, because it is part of your business plan. It is how you run your business. Having SOPs is going to help when it comes down to trying to sell.
Speaker 1:So if that is something that you are thinking of doing, you want the ability to do that. Go back, get these systems set up in place so that you can easily overcome imposter syndrome. And if you are looking to sell down the road, you have the ability to do it because you have the entire business mapped out for someone else to be able to step in and run it All right.
