Are you exhausted trying to maintain a presence on every social media platform? That constant pressure to be everywhere at once can drain your creative energy and pull focus from what truly matters in your business.

Social media isn't property you own—it's rented land where we're subject to changing algorithms and policies. When content triggers negative emotions, whether comparison, anxiety, or inadequacy, remember you have the power to block, mute, or step away. These boundaries aren't acts of burying your head in the sand; they're necessary protections for your mental health and creative energy. The constant barrage of world events and inflammatory content can deplete the very energy you need to serve your audience effectively.

What truly matters isn't your engagement rate or follower count—it's the legacy of education and transformation you create. When you solve a problem for someone, you potentially impact generations to come. Whether you're teaching emergency preparedness, financial literacy, health management, or any specialized knowledge, you're creating ripples that extend far beyond a single transaction. This perspective fundamentally changes how we approach content creation and business building. Instead of chasing metrics, chase meaning.

The entrepreneurial journey is challenging, filled with uncertainties and fluctuations. That's why connecting with your foundational "why" is essential. In moments of doubt, your purpose acts as an anchor. When you maintain unwavering focus on the education and value you provide rather than getting caught in the comparison trap or platform anxiety, success follows naturally. Not because you've mastered algorithms, but because you've mastered something far more powerful: the art of genuine impact through education.

Have you reflected lately on the legacy your business is creating? Take a moment today to reconnect with your why and consider how your work impacts not just your immediate audience, but future generations as well.

Speaker 1:

I recently had a conversation with Tremaine Willis and her podcast episode is going to be coming out with me later this summer. You can find her YouTube video actually already live, because it was a YouTube live that we did but this idea came about of how we have a tendency to think that we have to be all over social media. We have to be on every single platform, and many of you know that I believe social media is rented property. This is not news to you. You've heard me say it probably a thousand times, but here is what I want to make sure that we understand that if you need to take a detox, if you need to block certain people, if you need to take a detox, if you need to block certain people, if you need to block certain content that continues to get shown to you in your For you or in your inbox and you are finding that it is triggering you, that you are getting annoyed by it, that you are questioning yourself and why you are doing what you are doing, then you need to block it. You need to not allow it to come into your mind whatsoever. It is not necessary to have all of the information that is out there constantly bombarding you and giving you more and more to think about. You need to set boundaries for yourself and for your mental health to be able to put yourself, and my husband says that I have a tendency to put my head in the sand. And it's not that I'm putting my head in the sand, it's that, when it comes to politics and the news and the world we live in, I don't need to know all the things.

Speaker 1:

I find that it can put me in a bad place. It can trigger me, it can make me angry and depressed and wonder about the future that I'm going to be leaving to my children and grandchildren. So that takes energy from me. That takes energy from the creativity that I can be putting out there. It can take away from the energy that I'm going to put into the education of my clients, to the legacies that they are going to be able to leave, because I'm letting things trigger me. So instead I choose to put my head in the sand and not get annoyed and not get frustrated by the things that are going on. I'm aware of things that are going on, but I just don't constantly need to see it every going on. I'm aware of things that are going on, but I just don't constantly need to see it every single day. I don't watch the news. I will get tidbits of information and have my own decisions about the way that I think that things should work and will vocalize those when the time is right.

Speaker 1:

But the point of today is to make sure that you are blocking time for yourself to be able to have the energy to put out the education and the content that needs to be put out there in order to impact your audience. Because the more that you impact your audience by educating them and the problems that they have with the solutions that you have found, the bigger legacy that you are going to be leaving. I think that that is the largest thing that has made the largest shift in my mindset and in my business is understanding the legacy of what I am putting out there, because you're not impacting a couple people here, a couple people there, because when you solve a problem for someone, you're also solving the problem for future generations, whether you are putting together an emergency binder, whether you're doing meal planning where they're going to be able to save money, whether you're helping women with their perimenopausal symptoms and giving them an opportunity to learn about it where it has not been spoken about in the past. The more you can put out and educate your audience in the solutions that you have, the bigger impact that you're going to have, and I think that that's what we need to be focusing on. We don't need to be focusing on the engagement that we're getting on social media or what is actually getting comments. We need to be reflecting upon the legacy that we are leaving in the future for our people, for our audience, so that they can have the solutions at their fingertips and provide it for their families and friends.

Speaker 1:

Because once you have that impact on people, it can make all the difference in knowing why you are doing what you are doing. That's why we always go back to your why. Why are you being an entrepreneur? Let's be honest. It's not an easy position to be in. There are ups and downs constantly, so it's imperative that you understand why you're doing what you're doing. Why do you want to solve that problem for people? Why is that so important to you? Continue to put out that education and the value and impact as many people as possible, without getting caught up in the what you should be doing and what you shouldn't be doing and how many times and what platforms and all the things. Just focus on the education that you need to be providing and I promise you you will be successful.
