ChatGPT and other AI tools can transform your content creation process, but only when you understand how to use them effectively. Many entrepreneurs approach AI with fear, worried it might replace their unique voice or make their content feel generic. The truth? AI should be viewed as a productivity multiplier—not a replacement for your expertise.

In this episode, I break down exactly how to craft effective prompts that get results, sharing the three key elements every prompt needs: specific context, clear instruction, and guidance about tone. You'll discover five powerful strategies for leveraging ChatGPT: brainstorming content ideas, creating structured outlines, generating social media posts, repurposing existing content, and building customized content plans aligned with your business goals.

What sets this approach apart is the emphasis on maintaining your authentic voice. While AI can accelerate your process, your personal stories, experiences, and expertise remain irreplaceable. I share practical tips for training your AI to understand your brand voice and how to refine prompts to get exactly what you need. The goal isn't to have AI create content for you—it's to have AI help you create more content that genuinely reflects your unique value.

This is the Influencer Entrepreneur's Podcast with Jenny Melrose, where I strategize with business owners on how to grow and scale their businesses to hit their income goals. This is episode 446 of the Influencer Entrepreneurs Podcast with Jenny Melrose. Today, we're going to be diving into chat GPT prompts that can help you with content creation. Before we jump into that, I want to make sure that you grabbed our strategic growth plan that you do, so. We're going to link to that in the comments so that you can make sure that you get that, and we are just going to jump right into this Now. It's important, when it comes to chat GPT, that you truly understand what we're talking. Important, when it comes to ChatGPT, that you truly understand what we're talking about. When it comes to AI, there's a lot of fear that comes with the thought of using AI and what that will actually entail for content creators. Some of us feel as if we're going to be replaced by it. Now, what I need you to understand is that, when it comes to AI and using chat GPT or any other form or app that you're going to be using for this, that you're not being replaced. What we need to start thinking about is that it is an opportunity to quicken our pace, to use it for research things that you would be using or asking questions of a potential assistant that would be sitting beside you. Your AI that you are using should be thought of a way in which you can duplicate yourself asking it questions, getting it to start to do some of the research that you don't have to take the time to do because you have this amazing tool at your fingertips time to do because you have this amazing tool at your fingertips. Now we're going to jump into exactly how you can, as a content creator, not only use it to do research, also create content that can be used on your website, youtube videos, as well as email newsletters. The first thing that we need to understand is what exactly is a chat GPT prompt and, simply put, it is a question in which you ask, in AI, a question. So it's very low key, not something that you have to think a ton about. It's a simple question. Write me an outline for whatever it is that you're creating content for.

Speaker 1:

So, when we're creating a prompt, you want to make it specific. You want to be able to define the tone that you want to use. You also want to make sure that, before using a prompt that you have fed chat, gpt or other AI platforms information about yourself and your business other AI platforms information about yourself and your business. It's not going to know everything about you and exactly who your audience is if you haven't given it that information. So it's very important, as we've talked about in previous videos, that you make sure that you train it. You have to let it know who your customer is, who you are ideally trying to attract in the audience. Let it know who your customer is, who you are ideally trying to attract in the audience, providing it with customer journey understanding and supplying it with what it is that you do and who you are trying to work with. It's very important that you show it how you solve a problem. Now, one of the best ways to do this is that, if you have a digital product that you offer it up to chat to be t as a pdf, supply it with information. If you previous blog content, being able to give it that information from your website so that it can understand your tone of voice, how you write, what type of content. The more information that you provide to it, the better it's going to understand how to answer the prompts or questions that you are asking it Now.

Speaker 1:

An effective prompt needs to have three key things. It needs to make sure that it has a specific context of what it is that you are trying to get out of it. So you have to be very specific about what you are asking. Don't use unfamiliar words that it wouldn't necessarily understand. You want to make sure that, when you are supplying it with a prompt, that if you want an outline for a particular article, you provide that. Supply me with an outline for a specific topic that you may want to be talking about Now. I would highly recommend that, prior to asking it for an outline, that you make sure that you are doing the keyword research using a tool like KeySearch or SEMrush, in order to have that information, to supply it with a title, so that, when you ask it for an outline, you know that people are already searching for it. I would not rely solely on AI to understand what people are looking for. Instead, that is going to be what you need to be doing prior to supplying it with the contacts.

Speaker 1:

Now, the other piece is that you want to make sure that you have clear instruction when you are giving in a prompt. You want to make sure that it understands how many words, how many sentences, what exactly are you looking for it to supply with. And then the third thing that you want to make sure that you are getting from it is the tone that you are expecting for it to feed back to you. So are you looking for something professional? Are you looking for something professional? Are you looking for something that might be more friendly, more educational? Being able to provide it with that is going to help you. Now, if you've already supplied it with some of your articles, potentially on your blog or a YouTube video transcript, it's going to understand a little bit more of your tone already. But the more clear and concise by giving it context and supplying with a specific tone that you can be, the better off you're going to be in getting the answer that you were ideally looking for.

Speaker 1:

There are five powerful ways in which you can use chat, gpt or an AI tool. The first is to brainstorm, to do some research, ask it specific questions in which you don't know quite the answers, and ask it to start to better understand, potentially, what your audience is looking for. What would be the would they be interested in? You could even ask it what would my audience be interested in? What type of article would they be looking for based on this keyword that I've already researched and know that there is volume for, so that you can have a better understanding of what you are supplying them with the next piece? Not only is brainstorming going to be key, but also to create outlines. Outlines give you the opportunity to still put in your voice and allow your audience to connect with the personalization that you then create in the content, the blog posts, the podcast, the video that you're recording from that outline. So asking for an outline is one of the key ways in which I am able to get five videos out in one week, while turning it into a podcast as well as a blog post article. So really thinking about how can you utilize an outline that you can then personalize with your own opinions and voice is going to help you tremendously.

Speaker 1:

The third way is to be able to use a chat. Gpt prompt is to ask it for content for social media, by supplying it potentially with an article that you've already created based on the outline, or supplying it with the transcript from the podcast or the video, so that it can then create social media content Because you are already supplying it with a personalized version. Because you wrote an article or you did an audio recording for a podcast or a video, you have that personalization already in it, so you don't have to solely rely on adding the personalization then to the social media content, because it's already there. Now. The fourth way that you can use it is to repurpose existing content. Many of us may already have YouTube videos that we have created, or we have podcast episodes that we've created. What you then can do is take the transcripts from the video or the audio recording and ask it for a blog post. Now, when you are doing the blog post, you are going to want to make sure that you have the keywords that you are trying to ring for, and you also make sure that you ask it potentially for specific headings that you may want, or just ask it to organize so that it's a SEO blog post. So that it's a SEO blog post, it is a way in which you can take content that you have already created and now repurpose it so that you are getting multiple pieces of content able to use on various platforms.

Speaker 1:

The fifth way that you can use a chat GPT in order to help you with your content is to ask it to put together a content plan for you. Many of us probably are able to find a content plan online, and then you have to then go through and make it specific to you, based on the outline or the PDF that has been supplied to you that you found online. Why not just ask Chat2BT to create you one? You can be very specific about the days of the week that you are going to actually publish content, while also putting in what it is that your core pillars of content are, so that it makes sure that the plan is aligned to your actual business. Now, when it comes to type GPT, there are some tips that I have for you to make sure that you are really getting the best results possible, and the way in which we are going to do that is, we are going to make sure that we are not only specific, like we've talked about in the past, but we also need to make sure that, when it comes to our prompts, that we potentially give it a second or third prompt so that it can refine what it is that it's already creating.

Speaker 1:

I will often ask it for a three sentence email based upon a blog post article that I've already written, and if it's not quite what I wanted, I'll then specifically ask it, maybe for a call to action that is going to lead towards a podcast episode or a product or service that I offer. So by refining your prompts, you're getting better results that you're then able to utilize and potentially able to utilize again in the future. It's important that when you find a prompt that works really well for you, that you keep it someplace. It may just be ChatBT. What I like to do is I will keep a Google Doc of all the prompts that work really well for me and I will continue to utilize those so I can make sure that I have calls to action in what I am asking to be done. So, whether it's social media content, whether I'm creating a podcast episode or I'm writing an email, I always wanna make sure that I have a strong call to action that is serving my overall purpose.

Speaker 1:

The next thing that you can make sure that you do is that you are specific in the way that you are creating that content to your specific audience. So, again, we talked about this in the beginning it's important that you feed it as much information as you possibly can, teach it about you and your business so that it can better understand you and make sure that your content, that it is producing for you, is specific to the audience that you are trying to attract. The overall emphasis that I truly want to make sure that we understand is that when you are using chat, tpt or any other AI tool, that it's imperative that you make sure that you are adding your personalized voice. You want to be able to ask it questions that are research-based. You want to be able to ask it questions that are research-based, outline-based.

Speaker 1:

I personally would never ask it to create a blog post, because if it creates a blog post for me and it's solely based of an outline and nothing personalized, those are not my ideas. Those are someone else's that it was able to pull online. Now, if I am going to ask it to create a blog post, it's going to be based upon a transcript of a podcast episode or YouTube video that I have already made sure was personalized. I'm not going to ask it for a script that is pulling other information. I want it to be my personalized ideas, with my stories and what works best for my students and my clients, so that you, as my audience, can get the same benefit. So it's key, when you are creating your content, that you allow the ability to create that personal journey for them, making sure that you are influxing your content with the stories. So this is why you will continually hear me refer to an outline, the research phrase. Those are the pieces that is going to speed everything up anyways, because once you have an outline, you can then easily create the content that goes along with it and then be able to potentially get the transcript, which then can get turned into a blog post.

Speaker 1:

So I really, truly hope that you were able to take this information for ChatGPT and start using it today. There's no reason that you have to continue to hold yourself back, thinking that by using AI, you're cheating. In reality, you're helping yourself as if someone an assistant was sitting right next to you and you were asking them these questions. Anything that you were asking chat GPT to do is something that you would ask an assistant to do and therefore, when you go to apply it, you're able to add that personalization and really truly provide them with a journey that is meant for your audience. I would love to know in the comments exactly how you are using chat dbt. What prompts are you utilizing for it? You heard me talk about the fact that I use it for outlines, as well as for some of my emails and also my social media content. What about you? How are you using your chat dbt prompts? What ones are most effective for you? Tell me in the comments. All right, until next time. I will see you all then.
