What goals still align with your direction? Has your audience focus shifted? Summer gives us valuable reflection time to reassess who we're speaking to and whether our offerings truly match their needs.

Look back at previous fall seasons with a critical eye. Which products performed best? Where did your email subscribers come from? Rather than automatically recycling last year's strategy, question everything: Did you hit those goals? Has your messaging evolved? Understanding your audience's current needs is crucial for setting meaningful objectives. The concept of legacy should guide your planning—considering not just your immediate impact but the ripple effect beyond your audience.

It's late July and I finally feel like I'm coming out of the weeds of summer, which means for me and I'm hoping for you that it's time to plan for fall, get those goals in line with what it is that you are trying to do. A lot of times, when it comes to the summer, we have a habit of taking a side road or two. We slow down and it can be difficult sometimes to get back to the things that you are used to doing getting into that routine. Personally, I thrive when I'm in a routine and I look forward to it, because taking this side road of slow and no schedules drives me crazy. So how do you get back quickly? You need to take a look at the weeks ahead. Where can you find the most time and get a plan together? So if you haven't already gone through and done your 90 day plan, this is a good time to revisit it. Look at what you anticipated, what you set your goals for, what your predictions were and where you are with it Now. I want you to take a look and see how you can revisit those and decide what is actually still in line with where you are trying to go. A lot of times, summer gives us time to reflect and really decide on where we want to take things. Are we speaking to the right people? Are we promoting the right product? Is it the right fit for our audience?

I also want you to make sure that, as you go to set these 90 day goals, that you take a look at last fall. What did it look like? What products were doing really well for you? Where did you get the most email subscribers coming from? What are some of the strategies that would work best for you? If you've seen a decline in your email list, what can you do to increase it? If the audience isn't quite right, where is that audience? Should you be trying different types of podcasts where they are hanging out, or different Facebook groups? Or getting in front of different people based on summits? I want you to find different ways that you can get in front of the right people and decide who those right people are, so that as you go to do your goals and set up where you are going to put the most effort into, you know that you're going to make the biggest impact on those people.

A lot over the summer we talked about the idea of legacy. What are you leaving? What are you going to surpass and pass on to not only your audience, but their audience and the people that they impact? I want you to really make sure that you are putting that in mind when you are looking at your 980 goals. Don't look back at your fall of last year and assume that those goals that you had are the ones that you should be chasing again, because did you hit them? Were they the right fit? Did you kind of pivot? Did you get clearer on your messaging? Do you understand a little bit better about what it is that your audience needs from you? Now, when you're looking at fall of last year, it's very likely that maybe the way in which you were attracting your audience is a little bit different. Maybe social media has changed for you, or your website traffic or your podcast traffic. Do you need to hone in on a specific messaging that needs to be clear for your audience? I want you to really sit down and reflect and ask these questions. Look back at 24 or as far as your fall and look and see where you need to go and how it needs to be a bit different.

Can you continue to make a difference with those strategies and tasks that you are going to put into play.

Right now is the best time to set up yourself, to hit the ground running. To me, the fall after the summer, as soon as the kids go back to school, is kind of like a new year. It is a fresh start. I am ready to go. I have had time to relax, I have had time to take time off and now it's time to hit the ground running and get ready to impact as many people as possible. And I want you to feel that excitement and that energy, because when you feel that energy, it will just topple over into the tasks and projects that you were attempting to complete within your business.
