Exclusive access to premium content!Ever feel like your business momentum vanishes into thin air after a vacation or during those lazy summer months? You're not alone—and there's absolutely nothing wrong with you or your business.
This episode kicks off our powerful three-part "Resetting to Rise" series, focusing today on the crucial first step: acknowledging when you're stuck. As entrepreneurs, we often experience motivation dips when our routines get disrupted, whether during summer travels, family visits, or holiday breaks. These moments manifest as procrastination, decreased energy, falling metrics, and that persistent feeling that something's just... off.
For high-achievers and perfectionists, these inevitable plateaus can trigger an avalanche of self-doubt. We question our abilities, our business models, and sometimes our entire purpose. But what if these moments aren't failures at all, but natural rhythms that offer valuable opportunities for reflection and realignment?
I guide you through recognizing the specific signs that you've lost momentum and provide a powerful journal prompt to identify exactly where you're experiencing resistance in your business and why. This awareness creates the foundation for the reset framework we'll explore in tomorrow's episode. By pinpointing what feels heavy right now, you'll gain clarity on what needs adjustment rather than allowing a general sense of "stuckness" to cloud your entire perspective.
Join me for this intimate conversation about normalizing the ebbs and flows of entrepreneurship, and discover how acknowledging where you are is the first step toward reclaiming your momentum. Complete today's journal prompt, and return tomorrow as we continue our journey to reset and rise.
Today we're going to start a three-part series for the week. We are going to talk about resetting to rise. The summer, as many of you have heard me talk about, is always a difficult time for myself because there is no sort of routine, and I find for a lot of clients that is the case. They are traveling, they're seeing family, they are doing all the things and because of that, we often feel like we are not making progress in our businesses. So over the course of the next three days, on these unhinged episodes, we are going to break down how to reset and rise. Today we're going to talk about acknowledging the fact that you feel stuck. You feel like you haven't quite done enough or you can't get started again. I think we often over the summer, we'll take maybe a week off or a couple days off because we go on vacation, we're spending time with family, and it's difficult to get back. Even when we leave ourselves the breadcrumbs that we often need to leave ourselves, it can still be very difficult to get back into the groove, and there's reasons for that. So the first thing that I need you to understand is that this is normal. You should be feeling this way. This isn't anything out of the ordinary. It is a normal thing to be feeling, and it's not only going to happen over the summer. It will happen, probably during the holidays, anytime that your routine kind of goes out of whack. This is going to happen. So you're going to be able to use this three-part series to be able to help you get out of it.
Speaker 1:No matter where you are, there are certain signs that you may feel like you've lost momentum. You may notice that your energy has dipped. You are not really wanting to get back in front of your computer. You may find that you are stalling or not being able to really get down to it and get to work. You may also notice that your results are dipping. Maybe you're not getting as many email subscribers. You're not getting the engagement that you're used to. You're not getting the engagement that you're used to. This can all result in feeling like you're stuck. So it can also come in the form of your own motivation, and this kind of comes from what we talked about not wanting to get back to your computer. You can feel like why am I doing what I'm doing? This is honestly one of the biggest reasons why burnout happens. Why? Because we start pushing through and we feel guilt and shame over it instead of normalizing it and understanding.
Speaker 1:These are parts this is supposed to happen. It's actually a great time for you to reflect and figure out what it is that you're going to need to do to move forward. What are you doing right, what are you doing not so great, and where do you feel more aligned to your purpose? We've talked a lot on Unhinged about this idea of being able to pass on your legacy, passing on the solutions to problems that you offer to multiple people and, with that in case, sometimes, when we get into the mix of the day-to-day, we forget why we started this and why we were the purpose behind it all. So we really need to start thinking about how we can make sure that we get back to it.
Speaker 1:The other thing that I want to make sure that we recognize is that a lot of us are overachievers. We are perfectionists. We want to continually see growth, and when there's a dip, when there's that lack of motivation, we start questioning ourselves. There must be something wrong with me. Maybe I'm not into this anymore, maybe the business is wrong, maybe I'm just not as good at this as I thought I was.
Speaker 1:All of these are normal questions, but what I want you to be able to do is I want you to sit with that and I want you to ask yourself what feels hard or heavy right now in your business. Where are you feeling resistance and why? Is it a piece of your business? Is it in creating video content? Is it writing the blog post?
Speaker 1:As many of you heard last week on the unhinged episode that came out last Tuesday, I was feeling a ton of resistance in getting out unhinged episodes, which is one of my favorite things to do, but I was stuck because of what was going on in my personal life and making sure that I couldn't quite get past it until I found alignment within myself and was able to figure out how to move forward from it. So I want you to really sit down, use this as a journal prompt, write down what is it that you're noticing. So, again, those questions are what feels heavy? Where are you feeling stuck and where do you feel resistance and why? Just sit with that. Write it out Now. Tomorrow, when you come back, we're going to talk about a reset framework, things that you can put into place, but I want you to do that journal prompt first and foremost.
