Ready to supercharge your email marketing for fall? The post-summer season brings a golden opportunity to expand your reach—but only if you've done the preparation work.

Most businesses experience a natural engagement dip during summer months as subscribers prioritize vacations and family time over checking their inboxes. Rather than lamenting this seasonal pattern, smart marketers use this time strategically. The key lies in conducting a thorough six-month email list analysis: Where exactly is your growth coming from? Which lead magnets consistently perform? Are platform-specific features like the Kits creator profile driving significant sign-ups?

This analytical groundwork sets the stage for what truly matters—leveraging the increased attention spans and decision-making mindset that characterizes fall. One particularly effective strategy worth exploring is the strategic list swap. However, many marketers limit themselves by seeking only perfect audience matches. The reality? Success comes from finding reasonable connections and crafting compelling narratives that bridge different interests.

I've seen business coaches successfully partner with play therapists by sharing personal parenting struggles, and productivity experts collaborate with ADHD specialists through relatable stories. The magic happens in the storytelling—creating authentic connections between seemingly unrelated topics that make subscribers think, "I never considered that relationship before, but it makes perfect sense!" When executed thoughtfully, these unexpected partnerships can introduce your expertise to entirely new segments who wouldn't have found you otherwise.

What email list growth patterns have you noticed in your business? Have you tried list swaps with non-obvious partners? Share your experiences or questions in the comments—I'd love to hear how you're preparing to maximize the fall attention surge!

Speaker 1:

Now is the time to be taking a look at your email list growth over the past six months. What have you seen? Have you seen a continuous growth? Where is it coming from? Is there a particular opt-in or lead magnet that is doing really well? Is it coming from your website traffic? Or is it coming from, maybe, Kits creator profile that allows you to be able to promote and recommend other KIT members? I want you to take a deep dive into this, because now is the time to get that list ready to go for fall.

Speaker 1:

We all know that summer is a sleepy time for our audiences. Very often they are not paying attention, they're not opening their emails. They're busy. They're just as busy as you are traveling and spending time with families and getting over summer colds, clearly. But what I want you to be able to do is take advantage of getting in front of potentially new audiences stepping into fall. So if you haven't already tried a list swap, I want you to think about who might be a good fit Now.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes it's not the audience that you're thinking and you may not get. It may not be the perfect audience, an exact match of an audience, but it could very well be a decent audience that comes from it. So let me give you an example. I myself, as all of you know, I'm a business coach. I do marketing strategies and that is what I talk about Now.

Speaker 1:

Someone else may be talking about play therapy strategies. I could very well have an audience that is meant for that, that if I could tie in my own struggles when my youngest was a toddler and the tantrums that she used to go through and how I wish I had certain strategies for play therapy, and that could be an email that I could send out to my list and then offer them an opt-in saying that something that I wish I had, or if it was something for ADHD, or if it was something about growing vegetables. It's all about how you spin it and the story that you tell and making sure that when you do a list swap, the audience is going to be a decent fit. It doesn't have to be perfect, especially if they have a large audience. It needs to have some fit where you can tie a story into it and it's going to make sense to your audience. Otherwise they're not going to know what's going on.
