SPEAKER_00Yesterday I talked a little bit about stacking habits, and I want to make sure that I clarify a little something because stacking habits and having a consistent day is great for those that don't have days that pretty much implode when there's a call from the school, or you have to take your elderly parent to the doctor's, or you have doctor's appointments that need to get taken care of. And when we are looking at those types of things, we have to make sure that when we're looking at our week, that we make sure that we leave time within our schedules, within our week, days, whatever it might look like for you, in order to have a day that's going to implode. Every day is not going to look the same for you. So, perfect example is this week, both of my daughters had Monday and Tuesday of this week off because they had teacher work days. And because of this, it pretty much makes my schedule implode. But I know this. I know that when the girls are home, I'm less likely to get done the tasks that I have written down because I'm not able to stack my habits the same way that I normally am. My day is not consistent. So when you are looking at your schedule for the week, it's important that you leave a day where you know you're going to be able to make up for any tasks that were going to be out of place. Now, part of the reason that my day naturally implodes for me is because, as you've heard me talking, I'm really big on stacking habits. And part of this is as simple as the time that I get up when the girls have school. I get up every day at 6. I am in my garage by 6:30. I work out till about 7.05. Then I come in, I fill up the girls' water bottles, and we are out the door by about 7:15, 7:20. Drop them off at the high school and then also down at the middle school. And I am normally back home about 7:45, 7:50. At that time, I come inside, I eat a quick breakfast, lots of protein because I am one of those women over that age. And then I take the dogs for a walk. Once I take the dogs for a walk, I'm back inside by about 8:30 to shower and get ready for the day. So that I'm at my desk by about 9:15, 9:30, depending upon how slowly I am moving. All of those habits, which seems silly because taking your kids to school shouldn't you probably don't think of as a habit, but it absolutely is. So by having that regularity to my day, it then makes me know that once I sit down to my desk, I am going to do some quick reading of a chapter of professional development. And then I am going to go in, check my emails, and start my first task of the day that I have written down based upon what my goals are for this week. So when you have those days like Monday and Tuesday for me, where I don't have to take the girls to school, you would think, oh, that's gonna be perfect. I'm gonna get so much more done. I can get up. Well, I do enjoy my sleep, so I like to sleep in. And I'm just slow moving from there on out. And then it becomes, mom, can you take me here? Mom, can you pick me up from this friend's house? Can we go have lunch with dad? Whatever it might be. So knowing in your calendar ahead of time that you are likely to have at least one day implode and leave a day where you can get in those tasks that you weren't able to complete. Do your best to start habit stacking as soon as you possibly can. And think of it as like everyday personal things that you are doing, which will then lead into habit stacking for your business because you've done the things and had consistent timing to get in front of your desk. You're not lollygagging, getting stuck on Facebook, or getting lost in reels. You're getting to your desk and able to get to work so that you can move to the next piece of what you need to get done with in your business. Now, I want you to be able to really start to think about how you can have it stacked with throughout your day, throughout your week, so that it becomes easier for you to become more and more consistent. Look at your schedule. What are you naturally have at stacking and what could you do better with? What are some things that you could maybe avoid doing, whether it's looking at Facebook or Instagram, whatever it might be? Um, or maybe it's going a certain way when you go on your walk that you find that this one particular neighbor comes out and starts talking to you for 20 minutes. So you lose 20 minutes of your day from that walk. Really start to think about what would be the best objective for you in order to get the most done within your business.
