Tired of feeling busy but not better? We dig into the real reason a 90-day plan beats frantic multitasking and show how clear, testable goals create calm, compounding momentum. Drawing on fresh lessons from our insider retreat, we unpack a practical system for choosing what matters, tracking the right metrics, and turning uncertainty into action without burning out.

We start with the pushback we hear all the time: goals feel heavy, rigid, and overwhelming. Then we flip that script by using a simple framework that pairs one outcome with a few targeted milestones and weekly reviews. You’ll hear how to pick the first domino when everything feels important, how to sequence growth so you’re not upgrading the wrong engine, and how to keep day-to-day operations running while you carve out focused time for high-impact work.

We also share a candid YouTube case study. Consistent posting alone did not deliver results, so we dug into the mechanics that actually drive discovery: thumbnails, titles, search intent, click-through rate, retention, and watch time. That shift—from output to insight—turned a “waste of time” into a live experiment with clear next steps. Expect practical tactics for setting metrics that matter, running tight feedback loops, and deciding when to double down, refine, or pivot.

If you’re ready to move from wishful thinking to a working plan, this conversation will help you replace guesswork with data and build momentum you can measure. Join the Vision to Plan Intensive for next level goals.

Retreat Takeaways And 90-Day Focus

SPEAKER_00

There were honestly so many takeaways from the insider's retreat that I could talk about, but I want to share some of the most important ones with you so that you can see how this could potentially help you really create that steady 90-day plan for yourself within your business. Now, one of the things that I often get asked and I got told on the retreat was, why do I need goals? I don't ever want them. I don't want to use them, they make me overwhelmed, I feel pushback in it's wanting to avoid it because you're telling me that these are tasks that I should be doing in order to hit my goals. And what I'm going to tell you is that when it comes to setting goals for yourself and your business, the statistics, as far as who is actually going to make strides in their business and are going to see their business as successful and growing continuously, are those that set goals. And it's not because they hit the goals every single time, but it's because they have a plan. They are not running around willy-nilly trying out new things and getting excited and chasing squirrels into holes and uh round corners. Instead, they stay laser focused on those specific goals. And again, like we talked about last episode, they're still running their everyday business, they're still doing the things that have to continue to happen in order for their business to run, but they are focused on a particular area of their business that they see as going to be important. Now, one of the things that I continually hear from people is I don't know which goals to focus on. I'm not sure what is actually going to move the needle in my business. How do I know that I'm gonna put this effort into it and it's actually gonna make an impact? Well, you don't necessarily know that. And I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this and say, well, you just gotta believe in yourself. You do just have to believe in yourself. Part of business though is taking a risk and seeing what happens with it, testing it and understanding is that an avenue I should be staying into. I'm gonna be perfectly honest and give you an example. About six months ago, I said I need to get onto YouTube. I need to give people a different way to find me and I need it to be quick. And I was never on YouTube. There was content there, but it was intermittent, let's just say. Now, after six months, I could look at it and go, well, that was a great big fat waste of time because I haven't gotten a ton of views. But instead, I am now looking and doing research to better understand how to utilize YouTube. Because I understand that yes, I'm doing one of the things that needs to be done as far as consistently creating content, but I wasn't doing the research in my thumbnails in what those should look like. So it's really important that when you are looking at the task that you are doing and that the goals that you are setting, that am I successful? Is this going to move the needle? That you guys it's always going to shift. You're going to be able to read those results because you are basing it on metrics. Now, if you are someone listening and going, I want a better understanding of which goal should come before which goal and how do I take those steps, make sure you save your seat for the vision to plan intensive. Not only are you going to be getting live training, but you're going to be getting a live co working session where you will be able to get your goals filled in and get the work done then and there so that when January hits, you can hit the ground running because you already have your goals and your tasks planned out and ready to go.
