We’ve been digging into 90-day goals for a while, but today we get honest about the real friction: mindset. You can stack tasks, map strategy, and color-code a planner, yet still stall when old beliefs—about money, time, or self-worth—pull you away from the work that moves the needle. We unpack why self-sabotage shows up right when the plan gets clear, and how a few simple reframes can turn resistance into momentum.
We start by tracing the gap between product-focused plans and growth-focused execution, then name the hidden scripts that keep us spinning: scarcity, perfectionism, and fear of visibility. From there, we share a quick daily practice to interrupt those patterns—spot the doubt, label it, and write a bold counterstatement tied to action you control. This isn’t about hype or blind positivity. It’s about building a practical mental operating system that fuels consistent shipping, smarter tests, and compounding wins over a quarter.
We also examine generational money beliefs many of us absorbed in our 40s and 50s—save at all costs, avoid risk, keep your head down—and how they stifle growth decisions like marketing, hiring, or experimentation. By reframing spending as measured investment and focusing on leading indicators, you create a rhythm that protects momentum even when outcomes lag. Finally, we talk accountability that actually works: a small mastermind that challenges assumptions, offers real feedback, and anchors your reframes so plans become results.
If you’re ready to turn your 90-day goals into steady progress, this conversation gives you the mindset tools and accountability structure to do it. Ready for the next steps, join a mastermind today!
Why 90-Day Goals Fell Short
SPEAKER_00Over the last month or two, we've been talking a lot about goal setting. And I think it's primarily because it is something that I didn't do for a very long time. I would know I had tasks. I know I would have like annual goals of revenue that I wanted to do, but I wasn't breaking it down into 90-day goals so that I could actually know the task that I needed to hit just for that quarter without getting overwhelmed. Instead, I would focus on which products were I going to be putting out rather than actually thinking about the growth strategies that needed to happen in order for that revenue to be made. So the I want to bring us back to the fact that we have done a lot of work into setting up our 90-day goals now. And there is still an issue. And if you're part of Insiders, you know that I'm focusing this month a lot on mindset because that's the issue. That's still the barrier. We can set 90-day goals till we're blue in the face, have the tasks, know the strategy, set them into our planner and know exactly what we're supposed to be doing, but we can still manage to self-sabotage. And we have to figure out why that is. We need to figure out why we will allow ourselves to hold us back. It's really what it comes down to. And some of this is largely because it's maybe some of the mindset issues that we grew up with, past traumas, what we have heard all of our lives, whether it comes to money or your actual confidence, or believing that you don't have enough time. All of these mindset issues are what is going to hold us back from being able to hit our 90-day goals. So we need to take the time to reset ourselves, reframe those issues that we bring with us as far as our mindset, and really start to think about what we are trying to do and to have the confidence in ourselves to do it. Have a statement that boldly shows the act opposite of what you may be thinking. You need to start reframing those doubts that you have about yourself. And in order to do that, it's really important that you first actually notice the doubt that you have. So I want you to start to think about how I can reframe what it is that I'm thinking about negatively about myself, my business, the way in which I'm trying to move forward. And how can I show that there is that positivity to it? The glass is half full rather than half empty. And I think that's often something that we have to be taught, especially if you grew up and you're in your 40s and 50s. A lot of us generationally have been hearing things about take what's yours when you can, make sure that you save your money, don't pinch your pennies, all of these things that we've been hearing as we have been growing up. So it's really important that now we look to reframe it so that we can hit our 90 goals, we can stick to our plan because otherwise we are likely to lose our momentum. And that is the last thing that we want. In order to keep momentum moving forward, we have to have the right mindset. So we need to approach each day ready with that mindset that shows that it is optimistic, it is full of growth, it is expanding our business, our customers, and overall helping the world be a better place because you are solving problems for your people. So I want you to make sure that you take the time to do that. Now, if you are in a place right now where you could use that added benefit of having others around you that are gonna hold you accountable, that are gonna make sure that you are moving forward and doing your goals, I want you to fill out a mastermind application if you haven't already or if you are not already in a group. And mastermind is gonna give you the accountability, but also make sure that you are sticking to that plan while giving you suggestions and ideas from like minded entrepreneurs that are trying to move their business forward just like you are. We're gonna make sure that we link to that in the show notes so that you can apply today.
