Exclusive access to premium content! The biggest growth lever we’ve seen doesn’t come from posting more or grinding harder, it comes from partnering smarter. We walk through how to collaborate with people who already have the audience you want to reach, as long as you’re not competing with the same product. The real shift is simple but uncomfortable: stop starting partnerships with “What do I get?” and start with “How do I help them and their people?” That’s how you become valuable, memorable, and easy to recommend.
We get practical with partnership marketing tactics you can use right away. We talk about list swaps as an email list growth strategy that doesn’t need ads, just two strong freebies and a clear recommendation. We also cover guesting on podcasts or YouTube to build authority fast, because you’re stepping into an audience that already trusts the host. Done well, those appearances don’t just boost visibility, they drive opt-ins and bring in subscribers who actually want what you teach.
If you sell an online course, coaching, or a digital product, we also share a higher-converting approach: running a webinar specifically for a partner’s audience and letting them earn affiliate sales through their link. It’s a powerful way to serve, teach, and sell while making it easier for your partner to promote you. We close with a reminder that support matters too, and why a solid community can be just as valuable as any audience swap.
If this sparks ideas, subscribe, share this with a friend who’s building, and leave a review. What’s one partnership you’re ready to try next: a list swap, a guest spot, or a partner webinar?
Why Partnerships Beat Going Solo
SPEAKER_00One of the strategies over the years that has definitely impacted my business is making sure that I'm partnering with others that have the same audience as I do, but do not have a competing product. And I think that this is really something important that I wanted to make sure that I am sharing with my premium members because it goes beyond having someone as an affiliate for one of my courses or products. And I want you to start thinking of ways in which you can partner. And partnering doesn't have to be a matter of how does it help you. It actually shouldn't just be that. It should be how do you help them? How do you serve their audience in order to be a benefit to them? And I think that when you can create those types of relationships, it can be huge for your business. And I have always done this from the early days of having the Melrose family, where it was a food blog, I would always work with other bloggers trying to find different ways that we could support each other and also help promote each other. So I want you to start to think about what are some ways that you can potentially partner. And one of the things that I have talked about in the past is this idea of doing list swaps. And a list swap doesn't have to be it anything crazy. It can simply be you send an email to your list about the other person's freebie and they do the same thing, inviting them to get onto each other's lists, more or less, is what you're doing. So this is beneficial because you're providing them with your opt-in, which is something that is of value. Otherwise, you wouldn't have created it, right? You also can start to build partnerships with people in order to have guests on your podcast or YouTube. You could also, of course, do a guest, be a guest on their show, where you again want to be able to promote your opt-in so you can grow your list with it, but it also gives that added authority when you are on someone else's podcast or YouTube. It's that trusted source because they've already built a relationship with their audience, and now it's just helping you to be able to get in front of those people. So doing a guest spot on a podcast or YouTube channel is going to definitely help. And then, of course, if you are someone that does a launch, you have a webinar, actually creating that partnership with someone where you might do that webinar specifically for their audience. So if someone has an audience that's a good fit for your product or service, offering to help them get affiliate sales by doing a webinar for their people can be a huge way to convert. My first course, that was how I sold it in the beginning. And that first launch, and it was an extended launch window, probably we were running it for about a month to two months because I was doing all of these webinars for my affiliates. That when I was doing them, we kind of had to, of course, space them out because it was a lot of time, a lot of energy for me to be doing a webinar and then running that um sales emails for those people afterwards. So thinking about what that might look like for you, could you offer a webinar that then you sell the product or service using their affiliate link where it's not as much work for them and it's highly likely to convert because of that? So I wanted to leave you some different ideas of how you can start partnering. The last thing that I want to leave you with is just having those that are gonna support you is also super beneficial. Whether it's going to be where you're utilizing each other's audience or if you don't have similar audiences and you're just within a group getting that support. That is why Insiders is one of my membership just works really well because it provides you with a group of women that are all trying to grow their businesses at once. So if you are a listener and if you're not part of Insiders, we would love to have you. We offer$20 off, and we will link to that in the comments per month so that you can make sure that you get inside there and get the support you're looking for.
