Clarity Over More Advice
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You can have a tab folder full of business advice and still feel stuck. That is usually not a discipline problem or a “need a better strategy” problem. It is a clarity problem, and clarity shows up when you know what matters next for your specific service-based business, not what worked for someone else on the internet.
I walk through why information overload is so common for consultants, coaches, and other expert-led businesses, especially when you are trying to move beyond trading time for money. We talk about the three hidden drivers behind constant learning: it feels productive, it helps us avoid hard decisions, and it gives temporary certainty. Then we get honest about why generic strategies and templates fall apart in the real world. Without context, they ignore where your audience is in their awareness journey, whether you are building your foundation or trying to scale, and whether the plan even matches your strengths as a business owner.
You will leave with a simple way to self-audit your situation: where you are right now, what your bottleneck is, and what would create the fastest movement in revenue and growth. Sometimes you do not need more knowledge, you need someone who can see the gaps, connect the dots, and help you choose the right next step with confidence. If this helped, subscribe, share it with a fellow business owner, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

Why You Need Clarity
JennyYou probably don't need another plan, template, or even a strategy. You need clarity on what your next move should actually be. If you're feeling stuck and know you need a clearer path forward, let's talk through what's actually keeping you stuck. I want to invite you to book a free discovery call with me so that we can really walk through this. Now, here's what I need you to
Information Is Not The Fix
Jennyunderstand. People aren't failing because they lack information. Let's be honest, the internet is full of information. Chat B GPT, Claude, all forms of AI are full of information. But most people are stuck because they don't know which advice applies to their business. And there's only so much that AI can do to help you, especially if they truly don't understand your audience and where you're ultimately trying to go with your business. So here's what we really have to come to grasp is
The Real Reasons We Keep Learning
Jennythat people keep consuming information. And there's a reason why they're doing this. It's often because it makes them feel productive. Many of us will say I'm an eternal learner. I am one of those. I love to read, I love to gather, I love to just take in all the information. I've always said that if I could go back to school or if I wanted to get my doctorate, I totally would be someone that would want to do that because I love to consume information. But it also makes me feel productive by doing that. Another reason that people are always consuming information is because it helps them avoid hard decisions. Sometimes we don't know if the decision we're going to make is the right one. And for a lot of us that are perfectionists, that's really, really difficult to have to deal with because we don't want to fail. We don't want to make the wrong decision. And the last reason why a lot of people will just continue to consume information is because it gives them temporary certainty. They know what their purpose is, they know what they're trying to do. And that, of course, is consuming that information.
Why Generic Strategies Fail You
JennyHere's the problem with generic strategies, though, that you are consuming, whether it's from podcasts, courses, articles, there's no context. There's no context as to what is involved in it. What is the background? What is what's already been set up? It doesn't take a look at the audience and where they are on the journey with you, as far as have you even been able to scratch the surface with them, understanding that they have a problem. Are you instilling in the early stages of awareness with them? You have to be able to take them along on the decision-making process and be able to show them that. And often these strategies that we put into place don't take that into consideration. Are you just trying to build the foundation? Have you started to try to scale? Are you trying to hire people? And often what I find with people is that their foundation is not built stably. There's holes in it, and we have to go back to fill in those holes before we can try to continue to move forward and scale our business. And it also doesn't account for your strengths as a person. Many of us have these abilities that others do not have. I've always talked about the fact that I love to teach. It is in my background, it's what I love to do, and I'm good at it. I can help anyone pretty much understand any issue that there is. That is one of my strengths. It also may not be one of your strengths. Maybe you're not great at speaking. Maybe you're not great at teaching. And if that is the strategy that it's teaching you, then that's a problem. The last piece is that often doesn't understand these strategies and plans and templates. Don't take into consideration the audience, where they are with you, who they are, where their goals are. So this becomes a generic strategy that doesn't quite fit who we are as business owners.
Direction Beats More Content
JennyNow, clarity comes from direction, not the content. So strategy that you are reading about and consuming and trying to put into practice isn't a roadmap for your personalized business. It's often pieces that you have to personalize and know how to personalize in order to make it work for you. And the other issue with clarity when it comes from this sort of direction that we're looking for is that information is not the ability to implement it. We can consume as much as possible, but if we are overwhelmed by all the information that we are consuming, we often don't know the next steps to take because it's not personalized. It's not right where you need to be, knowing exactly where you are in
Find Your Bottleneck Fast
Jennyyour business. So here's what I need you to do ask yourself, where are you right now? Okay. What's your bottleneck? What is making you just stop in your tracks and not know how to move forward? And what would create the fastest movement in your business? Revenue-wise, growth-wise. What would that look like? Now, sometimes the issue isn't that you need more knowledge, it's that you need someone to help you connect the dots. We are often too close to our businesses to be able to see that our foundation has holes in it, that we've missed a certain step, we've consumed so much information, but not everything was personalized to our audience and where we are trying to take our
