Your business probably doesn’t need “more.” It needs clarity. If you’ve been telling yourself the problem is visibility, content, or sales, there’s a good chance you’re treating a symptom while the real bottleneck keeps your growth stuck.

We walk through why entrepreneurs so often solve the wrong problem first, especially when we’re making emotional decisions, speaking in niche terms our audience doesn’t use, or spiraling into comparison. When you’re reacting to trends or chasing the latest shiny object, it’s easy to drift away from what your customers actually need and what your business system is missing.

Then we break down four of the most common business bottlenecks that quietly block momentum: an unclear offer, weak messaging that skips problem awareness, inconsistent visibility (email and your primary platform matter more than you think), and a lack of strategy that fails to guide people through the buyer journey. If you sell a course, program, product, or service, this framework helps you stop guessing and start making decisions that lead to consistent sales and a business that supports your life.

To make it practical, we end with a quick self-audit you can run today: what feels hardest, where you plateau, what frustrates you most, and what you avoid. Those answers point directly to the constraint you need to fix first, because you can’t solve what you can’t clearly see. If you want help mapping it out, book a free discovery call, and if this helped, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review.

Why Growth Still Feels Stuck

Jenny

You may think your problem right now in your business is visibility or content or even sales, but that might not actually be the thing holding you back. And sometimes you need a personalized support system to map out your next step. So if you are ready for that, I want you to book a discovery call below. Now here's what I need you to know when it comes to how to know what your business actually needs right now. Most entrepreneurs are solving the wrong problem. They're talking about the wrong things right now and where their customer and their audience is on their journey to understanding that you have a problem that you can solve for them.

Emotional Decisions And Comparison Loops

Jenny

So the reason why most business owners are misdiagnosing the problem is often because they're making emotional decisions. They're very close to it. You may feel as if you the words that you are using to talk about the problems are the correct words. When in reality, you're using terms that are very niche specific to your educational level of what you are trying to teach to your audience. So you have to be able to take that step back. And oftentimes it's difficult for you to do that because it's emotionally connected. You also may be falling into the problem of comparison. We see things online constantly, whether it's on social media, whether it is if I'm listening to another podcast, we will hear other people talking about their businesses. And even if they're not in the same niche and don't even solve the same problem, we assume that we need to be doing better or doing it like them. So we will often get stuck in comparing ourselves to other people and start doing things that our audience does not need or want. We also often have the habit of having a reactive strategy, that feeling of you're putting out all the fires. We are just reacting to what we think we need to be doing because we see a trend. We have a shiny object put out in front of us, and we assume that if everybody's talking about it, we need to be doing it. And that often is taking you away from what you need to be doing for your actual audience.

Four Bottlenecks That Block Sales

Jenny

So here are the most four most common business bottlenecks that you potentially are doing incorrectly. The first is an unclear offer. Does your audience actually know what it is that you do and how you can solve their problems? Do they know how to sign up for it? Do they even know that it exists? So many clients that I run into think that because they've mentioned it once, that they have a course or a book or a journal, that their entire audience knows that they have those things. When in reality, one time is not enough in a very busy online world. We also often see weak messaging, business owners not speaking specifically to the pain points that their audience has. They'll teach, but they haven't made them problem aware yet. Your people need to be actually aware of the problem that they have before they need any sort of educational material. So we need to be doing more of the why so that they can then see that your offer or your product is going to be the solution, the how on how to fix their problem. We also see the issue of inconsistent visibility. One of the most important things that you can do within your business is to be consistent, not just with your messaging, but it's being seen. So if you are only emailing your list once every month, that's a problem. That's inconsistent. That's not enough. People are going to forget who you are if you only email your list once a month. This is the same if you are having your specific content that we always talk about, that one platform that you are making sure you are consistent on. And again, this is your blog, your YouTube, or a podcast. If you are inconsistent on choosing one of those, it is a problem. And this is also true if your one platform, this is actually especially true, if your one platform is some form of social media like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, because of the algorithms and the way that you get seen, if you are inconsistent there, it is even more of an issue. And then the final problem that we often see is a lack of strategy. Knowing why you are putting up specific content, actually putting out content that is going to get people to go along on the buyer journey so that your person in your audience understands that it's meant for them. Many of them come along in the buyer decision-making journey and they don't even understand that what you have is meant for them because you haven't, you don't have a strategy that has walked them through that. So here's what I want you to do in order to identify your real bottleneck.

Questions To Diagnose The Real Issue

Jenny

I want you to ask yourself what feels hardest right now? What are you struggling with? What creates the most frustration for you? And where do you stop progressing? Is there some spot that you always hit a plateau on? Or is there some place within your business that you don't want to do it? You have to be able to identify these things to fix the thing that unlocks everything else. You have to be able to identify your bottlenecks and be able to move forward in your business. Now, you can't solve what you can't clearly see. And as you have just heard me talk about the four most common bottlenecks, you know that sometimes we are just too close to it, or that we have just weak messaging overall, but we again don't recognize it because we're looking at comparing ourselves to someone else's audience. So it's important when you are doing this that you really start to try to think how can I clearly see all of the pieces within my business?
