My guest this week is a dreamer. Yes, that's right, she is a DACA recipient but the term 'dreamer' goes perfectly with her story. Hanna finds opportunities in each obstacle and she hasn't stopped dreaming, regardless of her circumstances.
Today we are talking about her journey to the USA from Mexico as a kid, the challenges of being undocumented, and the impact and stigma that being called illegal can have on someone's life.
We also discuss the recent BLM protests that took place in Portland, Oregon, where she lives. We talk about the impact that attending the protest can have for undocumented people as well as some options on how to take actions in a way that feels safe.
Hanna shares a message for people who can vote, about the importance of their decisions that effect other lives of people in the USA.
