It's exactly how it sounds: difficult!

Ximena left her home country, Colombia, when she was a kid. Her family came to the USA seeking political asylum, which was denied after 7 years of pending status.

When returning to Colombia she felt like she was an immigrant (in her own county) all over again.

We explored the concept of being an expat versus an immigrant. We talk about the visa application process and she shares her most recent immigration experience living in Taiwan and learning Chinese.
