THE RAMBLINGS OF A CABLE GUY
I am an insecure Black man in therapy, trying to navigate life without losing my mind while dealing with my childhood trauma and the current state of our country. I was born to teenage parents in Orange Mound, Memphis, Tennessee. My mom was 16 and my dad was 19 when I was born. My parents didn’t stay together long after that. About four years later, my mother met someone, got married, and gave birth to my younger sister. When I was eight years old, I witnessed my mother being shot by her estranged husband. She was shot five times, including once in the head. By the grace of God, she survived.
