Curating Conversation
We talk to interesting people leading the way in the creative industries to find out how they got there, why they do it and what other people might learn from them. From artists, curators, actors and musicians to professors, freelancers, and technicians there are so many roles that fit in with being creative. We have these conversations to understand their passions from a different perspective and hopefully come away a bit wiser than we went in! Every episode features a new guest, having a relaxed, fun chat and sharing their experiences, enjoy! These conversations are hosted (usually) by the Director of RAFIKI STUDIO, Leo Sartain.
Curating Conversation is a RAFIKI STUDIO production.
Curating Conversation
Bobo Wallmansson
In this week's episode, Leo and guest co host Verity Babbs chat to Swedish contemporary artist Bobo Wallmansson.
-
Our chat covers Bobo's first foray into the arts, how his mother's harsh criticism changed his artistic direction, ( for the better). What it's like being a successful artist in the 21st Century, and a whole lot more.
-
Bobo has a somewhat unorthodox art career in that he doesn't have large gallery representation, but still manages to sell work internationally to an eager collection base. He discusses his rock star approach to being an artist and why he thinks social media is a tool for good in terms of fostering community.
-
We discussed the art market in Sweden and which artists he particularly feels inspired by. Of course we got onto why he paints those adorable monkeys and what the secret behind them really is...
