This may still be okay if you're trying to buy a house. There may not be as much competition for getting into the house you want. Instead of it being over-crowded with crazy offers, you now may be able to get the house you want.
Yes, rates are higher. But when you look at what your monthly payment is, it doesn't mean you can't get a home. Plus, refinancing when the rates are lower is always an option.
