When Punishment Falls Away | ACIM Deep Dive, Chapter 2, Section XIII, Paragraphs 4-6 | November 25, 2025

What if everything you’ve been taught to fear about the Last Judgment is backward? We take a fresh, practical look at A Course in Miracles, exploring how judgment isn’t God condemning anyone but a healing of perception we undertake with Christ’s help. Instead of punishment and dread, we talk about right evaluation: learning to distinguish what is worthy of us—love, peace, joining, forgiveness—from what is unworthy—fear, guilt, attack, and specialness. That shift dissolves the fear of judgment at its root and restores right-mindedness, where innocence and clarity feel natural.

Together, we unpack why punishment never corrects the mind, how it secretly reinforces separation, and how to turn every trigger into a doorway to healing. You’ll hear simple practices to use in real time: pause when you brace for consequences, ask for help to sort false from true, and notice how the body’s energy field relaxes when you choose love. We also redefine “apocalypse” as a constructive division—an unveiling that gently separates reality from illusion. No divine wrath, no tallying of sins; just the mind preserving only what is good and releasing what was never real.

As belief is withdrawn from miscreations, they lose their grip—and often vanish. Relationships shift, either transforming to match peace or naturally falling away when their lesson completes. You stop chasing pleasure in forms and start bringing joy to them, trusting guidance rather than forcing outcomes. By valuing only what’s eternal, the exhausting swing between free will and imprisoned will ends. If you’re ready to disown self-attack, welcome correction without fear, and experience the quiet strength of Christ vision in daily life, this deep dive will meet you where you are and invite you home to what you’ve always been.

SPEAKER_00:

Aloha and welcome to a Course in Miracles Deep Dive with Hope Johnson. Yes, we are going into chapter two, section 13, the real meaning of the last judgment. We're going to be starting on uh no, it's not a sentence, paragraph four, and going forward from there. I'll give you guys a little bit of a summary too. Um, but first, oh, aloha. I love you. Thank you for joining.

SPEAKER_01:

Um, let's tune in.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Ah, gratitude to the one that we all are, the identity we share together. Thank you to Jesus for coming through as a representation of the Christ mind we all share, giving us a clear roadmap as to how to undo the trappings of guilt. Thank you, Jesus. Yay! Thank you. Uh, we are determined to see clearly, and that's why we're joining today in truth and love and deep release. Amen. And hooray. Okay, so let's look into this. I am so excited, as usual, whenever I do ACIM deep dives. So we covered the first three paragraphs of section 13 of chapter two. And in the first three paragraphs, here's what we went over judgment is not an attribute of God, it's an invention of the ego. So the last judgment is in a punishment, it's the healing of perception, and this seems to occur over kind of a long period of time. It could seem like a long period of time, but miracle workers are accelerating the process by specifically by releasing fear, being released from fear. That was the first three paragraphs, basically. God's not judging you, it's your mind, the mind that you made to be separate, joined with your Christ mind, finally discerning truth from illusion. So you're not leaning to your own understanding the meaning or the sense that you made of the world.

SPEAKER_01:

Right.

SPEAKER_00:

All right, so on to paragraph four, sentence one, which says the last judgment is generally thought of as a procedure undertaken by God. So this is the core misconception that's being named here. The last judgment is generally thought of as a procedure undertaken by God, isn't it? It's generally thought that God does that, the last judgment. And this has been a source of fear throughout human history. And you know, hearing this, you might say, Oh, yeah, yeah, I know, I know. Uh, but the reason it's repeated, like Jesus is saying this in different ways, is because this is a hardwired misconception that's hiding in the unconscious mind. Remember some earlier sections where he's going deep into we have to watch our unconscious, meaning unwatched mind. Okay. So this misperception about God judging us is a source of fear. The belief that God conducts the final judgment implies certain things that you may odd, you may think and not recognize or even thinking it and automatically believe it. So this is to shine lights on it. Okay. So any thought of something greater than you evaluating your actions, determining your fate, uh, sense that someone might be displeased, disappointed, condemning the idea that your destiny lies in God's verdict about your worthiness. Come on, God, haven't I been good enough? Why aren't I getting uh why aren't why aren't I getting rewarded for my goodness, let's say this is the ego's projection of its own nature onto God, the idea that anyone might be displeased, disappointed, or condemning of you. The ego judges, compares, punishes, and condemns. It imagines that God must do the same.

SPEAKER_01:

So it justifies your doing that.

SPEAKER_00:

Your displeasure in another person, being disappointed in them, anything like that. So Jesus is introducing this misconception so that he can correct it. He's preparing us for understanding that the final judgment isn't God selecting worthy from unworthy. It's the sonship, it's each of us in Christ with Christ, with our Christ mind, basically, you know, which is who we are, discerning truth from illusion. So another way of saying it, what this sentence is saying, let's read the sentence again. The last judgment is generally thought of as a procedure undertaken by God. So it's basically saying you've been taught to fear the last judgment only because you believe God is the one doing the judging, but nothing is ever judging outside of your mind. So once that's corrected, fear collapses, and this is what we're being asked to do as miracles to speed up the time it takes for the salvation of the world. See, so the actual function of the last judgment is healing our mind, and that's what we're here for. That's what uh this whole illusion of time is for. So whenever fear of judgment arises, this is how you can look at this in practice. Any kind of fear of judgment or believing you deserve or don't deserve something, anything like that, whether from God, others, yourself to others, anything like that, yourself to yourself. I say don't evaluate yourself because that's basically judgment. Remind yourself, take a pause and remind yourself, God is not my judge. Look at that. You know, I can think back to when I was a kid, and people would be judging kids, and kids would say, God is my judge. I mean, you guys probably remember that too. They'd say, God is my judge, like you're not my judge, but God is my judge. So it's very common to believe that God is a judge. God is your creator, not your judge. Only illusions are being judged, and that's up to you to judge them as being nothing.

SPEAKER_01:

This is this opens the way.

SPEAKER_00:

What we're learning right here is opening the way for the true meaning of the last judgment to be received in our mind. Can you accept that your fear of judgment comes from believing God is the judge? Notice fear of judgment, whether coming from yourself, other people, or from God. The underlying cause is believing God will judge you. Okay. Uh, and are you willing to be shown that judgment is actually true judgment, the right judgment that you're getting you're being given here? How you can use this uh skill that you gave yourself is actually in recognizing the truth. You use judgment to recognize the truth, not to condemn yourself. That's not divine judgment, you can say there's a divine use of judgment, and you know, you are the divine, so you can say that the the divine does make the last judgment, but through your perception, so in that way it's personal because you bring it into an expression, there's an expression in the world about the world, you could say. There's a judgmental thought, something hooking you, and you're recognizing that thought actually doesn't mean anything. That's the true judgment we're talking about. So you get relief in a visceral sense right away from the ego's grips. All right, sentence two from paragraph four, section thirteen. Actually, it will be undertaken solely by the sonship with my help. So Jesus is saying it's gonna be undertaken with his help. That's the last judgment he's talking about. The last judgment will be undertaken solely by the sonship with Jesus' help. So here he's overturning the ego's fear-based concept about God performing the last judgment. He's saying it's performed by you as part of the unified sonship, as part of creation, with Christ guiding the process. Remember, this is very early in the learning here. This is before you're actually aware that you are Christ. And you know, you may say you're aware that you are Christ. How do you know you're not aware that you're Christ? You get hooked in an upset feeling, don't know what to do. That's where you ask the Christ or Jesus or God or the Holy Spirit to guide your mind. It's very, it's very simple like that. It is you, but when you don't know it's you, you have to ask for something that seems to be outside of you for help.

SPEAKER_01:

Yay. So you aren't the object of any judgment.

SPEAKER_00:

It doesn't touch you, you're not something that can be judged. It's more like you're the co-judge with Christ. You're evaluating and recognizing what's real and what's unreal in your own mind. You're never being judged as a person, it's not like that. You are participating in the recognition of truth. That's what the final judgment is: it's recognition of truth. So to judge in this sense is to discern truth from illusion and accept only truth as real.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, this ends all conflict.

SPEAKER_00:

The last judgment, rather than being a verdict about you, it's the awakening of you.

SPEAKER_01:

This is what you want. Christ never condemns, Christ assists.

SPEAKER_00:

Always with you through these processes where you're leaning into seeing the truth, you have that guidance. The more you know it, the more you'll sense it, and the more you'll be able to follow it. You follow the thread of peace, you could say. So the last judgment, one way to describe it is it's a collaborative healing of our perception. You and Christ collaborating. You don't need another person in the world, although they may arrive.

SPEAKER_01:

So this is an inner process, you reclaiming your sanity by agreeing with Christ about what's real, not leaning to your own understanding.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I've got all this experience in the world, and I know this is how things are in the world. It's like they're not any way that you seem to see them. That's make-believe. Everything is totally changeable. That's a result of self-evaluation. The world you seem to see is an outpicting of your mind, and it's really not up for evaluation, you know, save the evaluation that it's not true. But evaluation of things within it, you know, it's like not, it's it's not reasonable. And you can really tell when you're doing that, uh, because you feel unsure, confused, upset, worried, concerned, any of those kinds, anxious. So this is how Jesus is using this text to restore our rightful place in our own mind as being co-creators with Jesus. The sense again, actually, it will be undertaken solely by the sonship with my help. So you can participate in the last judgment right now by aligning your mind. This is all willingness to align your mind with Christ's perception and not let these illusions take you off of that center. Ask Jesus to evaluate your thoughts with you. Help me release what's not real so I can accept what's true, so I can trade sorrow for gladness. This is how you be a willing participant in liberation, in liberation, self-liberation.

SPEAKER_01:

All right, sentence three, paragraph four.

SPEAKER_00:

It is a final healing rather than a meeting out of punishment, however much you may think punishment is deserved. Ever think that anyone deserves punishment?

SPEAKER_01:

Any kind of punishment, emotional pain, right?

SPEAKER_00:

Notice what happens, notice where the thinking goes. These things can be caught midstream. So this is the core ego error, you could say, the belief that we're guilty and deserve punishment. That's how death is justified. This is very deep, and there's lots of layers. That we're guilty and deserve punishment. Actually, I heard a lady tell me, and I said, Isn't it a gorgeous day? She goes, way better than we deserve. I'm like, wow, there it is. There it is. We don't deserve good, apparently. That's lodged in there. So this is responsible, this deep belief that we're guilty and deserve punishment. This is responsible for the fear of God and the fear of judgment and the fear of awakening. The mind expects punishment because it believes it's done something against God. It believes itself to be separate, makes up all kinds of stories and then stores them where they can't be immediately seen, where the pain is protected. It's both protected and projected as your world, yourself and your world. So the final judgment is about healing the son's mind. It's not punishing, it's not evaluating, it's about healing your mind of the belief that punishment is real. For one, it's not even real. But you can make illusions of it. Got a good imagination. It's for healing the son's mind of the belief that punishment is real or deserved. So the last judgment is the end of that guilty thought that says punishment is deserved.

SPEAKER_01:

That's the end of it.

SPEAKER_00:

Punishment is not compatible with the truth, it's not compatible to teach with the the peace of God. That's how you know it's not a real thing. Healing is the only function in God's plan. There's absolutely no punishment for anyone in God's plan. In God's plan. It's all just healing, and that's faithful.

SPEAKER_01:

Basically awakening to the truth.

SPEAKER_00:

The ego is always gonna insist on punishment because it believes in sin. Christ, your Christ mind, your true nature always insists on healing. So if it's not healing, it's not Christ. If it's about punishment, that is not Christ. Christ knows that sin is impossible. So even if you think you deserve punishment, God can never agree with that. And the final moment is when you stop agreeing with the ego and you accept God's verdict. See how that is? You accept God's verdict, which is your innocence and holiness and wholeness, abundance, perfect loveliness.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

So whenever here's here's the practical application, you guys listen to this because this is really fun and this is easy to do. When you perceive yourself having made a mistake, watch if you start to brace for consequences. In that, see if you can open to healing instead. Because this is the manifestation of that thought that you deserve punishment. You can't really make a mistake. You dream you make a mistake, and your mind can cancel out any consequences for that mistake. So instead of bracing for consequences, open to healing. Even let the perceived consequences, if they seem to come up, be the same thing. No matter what arises, open to healing, and it'll prove itself to be healing.

SPEAKER_01:

Remember, this is not a moment for punishment.

SPEAKER_00:

When it seems like you made a mistake and you seem to be bracing for punishment, remember, this is not a moment for punishment. This is a moment for healing. I'm releasing belief right now that I deserve any pain. I only want the peace of God. I want my mind corrected so I could know the peace of God only. So let every apparent mistake become this doorway for healing instead of using it as you have been, which has been for self-attack. You don't want to use anything to attack yourself. So if you perceive yourself making any mistake, that's the perfect opportunity to practice here. See that so this is about allowing yourself to accept the purpose of judgment in this plan, in God's plan. That it's not to punish you, it's to heal the belief, specifically to heal the belief that punishment is real or deserved. See how the idea that God can or would punish you or is going to punish you becomes a layer, something you don't see. What you're being asked to do here is heal the belief that punishment is real or deserved anywhere in the sun in the sunship. So Jesus is letting us know punishment is not merely incorrect, it's not only incorrect, it's totally incompatible with truth. It's in total opposition, he says, to right-mindedness.

SPEAKER_01:

That's the concept of punishment.

SPEAKER_00:

See what we learned about the world is not correct. It's totally run on that, isn't it? We see that from when we're little tiny kids. So right-mindedness in this, see, Jesus is saying punishment as a concept is in total opposition to right-mindedness. Right-mindedness is perception that's aligned with the Holy Spirit's voice, where there's only innocence, love, and healing. Those are the only things seen as meaningful. It doesn't see things meaningful that come from the ego. Attack, guilt, fear, that's all about punishment. So he says, punishment, which is arising from the ego, it believes in attack and guilt and fear as a concept, is in total opposition to right-mindedness. That's perception aligned with the Holy Spirit. So these two states, right-mindedness and uh a mindset that includes punishment, cannot coexist. If you believe in any way that judgment is real or that it's justified toward yourself or toward others, you're in wrong-mindedness. Just know that. To be right-minded is to see that only correction, that's healing, is appropriate in response to error. Punishment is never appropriate. That's how you are right-minded. Do you see that? Punishment is just never appropriate in response to error. So right-mindedness knows that sin isn't real and it needs to be undone, aka forgiven. So punishment doesn't correct the mind, it actually reinforces the belief in separation and guilt. It may seem to get you some good results in the short term. People use punishment for their kids, don't they? Whether they do a spanking or a timeout, take away some toys, stop them from uh playing video games, whatever. Punishment. And it seems to work because the kid might seem to behave for a little bit. They're behaving a little bit better.

SPEAKER_01:

But it doesn't work because it just projects more illusion. Like you're getting a break from looking at your own patterns, but you're actually proliferating the same patterns. All right.

SPEAKER_00:

What tools do I use to keep me there? Hmm. Well, uh, let's see. Anything that arises in the field is perfect for it. That's the thing. Each thing that seems to be triggering you, that's really the thing to be using as the tool. That is the thing. That's the you could say that's like the doorway. Because there's a uh upset feeling arising, and that upset feeling is telling you right there that you're believing in something that's not true. So hooray to that. You know, gratitude, curiosity, stuff like that. But but you're given the means. Everything in the field is the means. If you're looking for something to calm you down so you can um have a get a little space in your mind so you could see a little bit clearer, just open your mind. You might even ask the Holy Spirit to show you what to do. What's the most helpful thing to do right now?

SPEAKER_01:

Show me what's the most helpful thing, and then notice which what ideas come up for you.

SPEAKER_00:

Notice which one feels the lightest, and let yourself do that. Will to do what the Holy Spirit would have you do. You can't really do it because it's a dream, but you can will to do that which brings ease.

SPEAKER_01:

See that.

SPEAKER_00:

So to accept your innocence right now, no matter what it is you seem to be perceiving, is sanity. Accepting innocence, your innocence or anyone else's is sanity, except God's innocence. See, an innocent God wouldn't be trying to punish you. To believe in punishment is insanity. So this is why your awakening, you know, to uh advance on your awakening path, you could say, it requires withdrawal of this belief that there is punishment in any form. This is important, and it's something that uh is a little bit rare for people. You got it. I'm so glad. Yay, it's really simple.

SPEAKER_01:

You always have the means, it's always given you.

SPEAKER_00:

So here are some things that are self-punishment. You get these impulses to criticize yourself. I shouldn't have done that, I shouldn't have said that, right? This is also shameful. You move to evaluate yourself, right? Let's say you were doing heroin and uh having sex with a bunch of people last night in your dream. Okay, I just go to the extreme because I'm guessing you guys don't have anything that seems as extreme as that. And so I'm just showing you it doesn't really matter what it is. As soon as your mind goes to evaluate whether you should have been there, you know, doing the heroin and having all that sex. As soon as your mind moves to evaluate that, that's when you recognize that's a meaningless thought, that's a punishing thought. It's looking for a reason to criticize, shame you, deny you're the self that you actually are. So you could use that, whatever it is that your mind might be moving to evaluate. Maybe uh you got the sense that you didn't uh tip a waitress well enough or something like that. Just don't let your mind move to evaluate without you recognizing that this is what it is. It's an impulse to punish you. When you're recognizing it's an impulse to punish you, eventually you're gonna stop finding that train of thought one bit interesting or meaningful. Because punishment isn't correction, that's not how you get corrected. You can't get corrected by by that way. So self-criticism, self-evaluation, all that stuff, it's not healing. Healing is corrected, correcting. So you when you choose healing and not punishment, you're choosing to see that you're not something that can even be evaluated. This makes no sense. There is no last night. This actually restores your mind into alignment with the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01:

This is in alignment with the truth.

SPEAKER_00:

So, are you willing to let go of the belief that punishment has a place in God's plan or in your relationship with yourself or in your relationship with people of the world? See, that's something to just take a breath into. Are you willing to see that? Are you willing to see that there's only in innocence? So there's no place for punishment, there's no place for it in God's plan, there's no place for it in reality. No one deserves it. See, if someone deserved it, if you believe someone deserves it and then you forgive them, that's not the kind of forgiveness that it is. That's not the kind of forgiveness it's being talked about in A Course in Miracles. All right, paragraph four, sentence five. The aim of the final judgment is to restore right-mindedness to you. Yay! That's the aim of it, to restore right-mindedness. So this is the essence of the final judgment, the last judgment. He calls it the final judgment. The aim of the final judgment in this sentence is to restore right-mindedness to you. Okay, the whole purpose is to sort you to your right mind, and that's the right mind, the mind of Christ. So, right-mindedness, let's let's define what that is. It recognizes only what's true. Okay, you're still perceiving in separation, but you see now that no matter what forms your body's eyes bring back, you see only innocence. You only recognize what's true. This might be called seeing with your third eye or Christ vision. Okay. In right-mindedness, you know there's nothing to fear. There's perfect understanding that love is the only reality. This is what this is what you want. This is where you want to live in right-mindedness. This is the joy, this is the juiciness of life. So the final judgment is the end of wrong-mindedness, the total undoing of this ego thought system in your mind that you've been making real. You know, it doesn't come onto you from the outside, like, here's your judgment. It's actually the result of your own willingness to go there, to let the Holy Spirit correct your perception. That's why Jesus is talking about it. So you'll be willing for the last judgment. That's when you accept your total holiness without resistance. So it's a process of returning to sanity in time. We're reinstating our awareness of the truth in this way. So the ego thinks it's the end of life, but it's really the end of delusion, it's the end of the ego's reign, which really the ego is tired of reigning. The ego would love a break. It's not the end of the world, it's the end of the ego's world in your mind. It's the end of mindless believing in the ego's interpretation of what your experience is.

SPEAKER_01:

Right-mindedness is your natural state.

SPEAKER_00:

The final judgment is restoring your natural state, right-mindedness. It doesn't tolerate illusions. You know what that means? It doesn't tolerate illusions, meaning when it's presented what with illusions, it just looks right past them.

SPEAKER_01:

Doesn't mean anything.

SPEAKER_00:

This is a gift that's been extended to you in time ever since you made time. Right mindedness. You have the right to be right-minded in time because you are not in time. See, so whenever you feel confused or afraid or guilty or any kind of conflict, remember this. The purpose of judgment is to restore you to your right mind. Welcome correction.

SPEAKER_01:

Let it return you to the truth.

SPEAKER_00:

This is how you turn any misperception, no matter what it is, into healing. It's an opportunity for healing rather than using it for self-attack, which is the default. The default is to use everything for self-attack. You don't have to do that anymore. Yay. So the final judgment is not something to dread, it's something to welcome because of its purpose, which is to return you to peace, to innocence, to the clarity that's always been yours. So that concludes sentence four, and we go on to sentence. Oh, paragraph four. Uh are we on? Paragraph four, sentence five. And we did that. So we're going to paragraph five, sentence one now. The final judgment might be called a process of right evaluation. He's saying it right there. A process of right evaluation. So Jesus is totally replacing the ego's concept of judgment here. This is a true meaning, a process of right evaluation. Basically, a sorting out of what's true and what's false. See how it's not about judging you at all, it's about evaluating your perceptions. Right? You're evaluating your perception. Is it true? Is it a true perception? Is it a does it speak to eternal eternity? Does it speak to God? You know, if it's loving, it's true. If it's unloving, it's not true. It's not even there. It's not really there. It's an image painted out of a false belief. So this is about releasing what never even had any existence at all. That's why it's easy to return once you see this path in your mind.

SPEAKER_01:

So not a verdict passed down by God. You don't have to do anything better.

SPEAKER_00:

It's just a correction of your perception where you're willingly choosing the truth over illusion with clarity. You're recognizing that illusions are not true. Only thing that's true is the peace and love of God.

SPEAKER_01:

Doesn't have anything to do with your worth.

SPEAKER_00:

Your worth is established already. This is about your own discernment. Choosing, are you willing to choose only what reflects truth? That's what that's what you would keep.

SPEAKER_01:

Like, I won't keep believing that someone's doing something to me. I'll recognize that belief.

SPEAKER_00:

I'll recognize the belief that uh I could harm someone. Let's say that. Recognize the belief that you have harmed. Let's say that. You've done all kinds of harm in a dream. But the key is in a dream, you actually have to be released from it. You have to see the error and be released from it to stop repeating the error that makes you get the impression, perception that you have harmed. Okay. So to judge rightly in this context is to see that only love is real and only what's created by God has any value. That means that all ego-made things are illusions. They don't have any power and they don't have any consequence. No consequence. Not really. And any consequences that you seem to see, those are also illusions being projected out of a sense of confusion. Noticing that, that they're not actual consequences, because that's not how cause and effect works. All perception is only the consequence of thinking, the way you regard yourself. So the final judgment is the end of confusion, too. It's not the end of your life, the end of the ego confusion, which is used to keep you propping up a world that can never satisfy you. So you are participating in the last judgment. Every time you just ask, is this thought true or false? Just asking that. That's great. That's contributing. You're participating. Does this reflect love or illusion, for instance? Just your willingness to evaluate rightly, that's a step in the direction for undoing this dream, for releasing fear. This is judgment in a redeemed form. See, Jesus gave us a form of judgment that we could use. We gave ourselves the ability. Now Jesus is giving us a form of it that we could use. We're using it to evaluate truly, not evaluating ourselves, evaluating our perceptions, whether they speak to truth or illusion. If it doesn't speak to truth, it's not like that. It's really coming from your unconscious mind. And this is not to make you resist the experience or the situation. You know, the ego mind would see this as, oh, this is just another uh way to make things separate. Why don't you just love it all? Why don't you just love what seems to not be of love? Because it's of love too. Well, yeah, it is of love. All of it is. That's why what you're what you seem to see that's not of love isn't actually there. See? But if you seem to see it, you sure do believe in it. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to see it. So that's why you're undoing the belief. Misbelief miscreation gets undone this way.

SPEAKER_01:

Yay. Paragraph five, sentence two.

SPEAKER_00:

It simply means that finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. I love this sentence. What is worthy? What's worthy of me? Okay, so Jesus is explaining the process of right evaluation here. What here's what it accomplishment accomplishes it brings the mind to discerning clearly between what has value and what doesn't, what's worthy and what's not worthy. Same as what has value and what does not. What has value is worthy of me. What does not have value is not worthy of me. So this is uh the essence of awakening, and this is what it looks like. It's a sorting out of the mind's attachments, false idols, illusions, fear-based perception. It gets re-evaluated in this way. What is worthy? What's worthy is everything born of love, peace, forgiveness, joining, joy, holiness. Right? What's unworthy? Fear, guilt, attack, control, judgment, specialness. Okay, so the word pleasure is coming up. Where does it go? Does it go under worthy or does it go under unworthy? It really depends.

SPEAKER_01:

What is it speaking to in your view? Because that could be changeful. Right?

SPEAKER_00:

It's like, is it speaking to fear, guilt, attack, control, judgment? You don't need to be pursuing any thoughts like that.

SPEAKER_01:

Peace, forgiveness, joy, joining, holiness.

SPEAKER_00:

See, uh, pleasure can be symbolic of joy, or it could be symbolic of guilt. So in noticing how it's being used, right? So to understand what's worthy of you is not to condemn anything that's not worthy, it's just to recognize that it's nothing. You don't need to pursue nothingness.

SPEAKER_01:

So you're gonna stop confusing pain for pleasure or sacrifice for love or separation for safety as you choose to see rightly. So this sentence, let's look at it again.

SPEAKER_00:

It simply means that finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. So this is the inner workings of salvation. This is the mind learning to distinguish what has value and what doesn't. See, what's valuable is only the truth. So what has value, is it true? Is it really true? You know, you might say someone who bets on horse racing, let's say, they seem to get pleasure from laying down the money and doing the whole thing. They they're like, well, this is this is me, you know, following my pleasure. But if you look at what's happening, you know, if there, and sure, this could occur where it's totally joyful. I'm talking about in a situation where a person feels like, holy shit, this is this is messing me up. This is a mess, but I really like it, and I keep on going back to it. I think people would call that addiction. So it's like you don't have to try to stop doing anything, you just ask the Holy Spirit to help you sort out all of your thoughts and what you thought was pleasurable before that was leading to pain, that will that will stop. You won't perceive that thing that seemed to lead to pain as always as being pleasurable for you anymore because you looked with the Holy Spirit and undid the thoughts that were driving it. It's not about focusing on the behavior, it's undoing the thoughts so you can recognize what's truly pleasurable, so you don't have them backwards.

SPEAKER_01:

When you're listening to the ego, you get them backwards, you get them all mixed up.

SPEAKER_00:

Someone asked me before if nothing's even happening here, why don't I just play video games all day? And it's like, go ahead, because whatever it is that you seem to be doing, that's what's going to be used to help you see past the illusion. You're seeing past the illusions that you're holding in your mind. You know, eventually that'll get boring and you'll end up doing something else. That's just how it works. You know, you hit you you see, you you use these uh parent scenarios, like let's say you're playing a video game or doing something else to uh to see through the ideas that you're separate. All of them are the same, like that. So let everything be the same. Quit trying to get pleasure out of things in the world. They can never bring you any pleasure. You bring all the pleasure to every situation, it doesn't do anything for you. Okay, so let's see this sentence one more time. It simply means that finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. So in the previous sentence, he said the final judgment might be called a process of right evaluation. So the it, meaning the final judgment, simply means that finally, that's why it's called final or last, all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. So this process is inevitable. That's another thing that it's saying. The ego can resist it, but it can't prevent it because it's actually built into the structure of time and it's activated by willingness. Every mind must come to this understanding, it's not even negotiable, not because people are going to be coerced, it's not like that, but because they're gonna seek the undoing of their confusion.

SPEAKER_01:

So to judge rightly is to no longer mistake what is valueless for what is valuable.

SPEAKER_00:

So you can start asking if things are worth even worthy of you. Is this even worthy of me? Does this thought reflect love or fear? If it reflects fear, let it be meaningless. If it's already meaningless, let it be meaningless to you. It has no value if it reflects fear.

SPEAKER_01:

Value is only something that can be called eternal, and fear is not that, so it can be released with no loss to you because you only want that which is valuable, nothing other or less than love is worthy of you. Right? It's not worthy of you.

SPEAKER_00:

This is not to judge people as being unworthy. All right, this is to judge thoughts, perceptions, beliefs unworthy of your attention. Only peace is worthy of your attention. Would you release everything else? Sure, you might find relations relationships changing or falling away, or new ones forming, of course. You've been giving your attention to illusion, and a lot of the times that's the glue in some of these relationships. Kinds of relationships that feel stressful, like you kind of want to go, but you can't, and something feels weird, and something feels off. Attention to that with which is worthy loosens up that glue that ties you to dynamics that are unworthy of you. Doesn't mean that any person is, however, your relationship with them might fall away, and your relationship with other ones might form. Let it be. Doesn't really matter, especially since all of these things are being orchestrated for your awakening. You heard that song, love the one you're with, extend love to whoever seems to be in your presence at the time. So are you willing to let the Holy Spirit show you what's really worthy of you? Even if it means you have to give up something you once thought had value.

SPEAKER_01:

That's something that's always a belief.

SPEAKER_00:

It may manifest as things and relationships as well, but it always boils down to being a belief, thinking something has value which does not have any value. All right, paragraph five, sentence three. After this, their ability to choose can be reasonably directed. After this, okay, let's go back to after what? It simply means, okay, the final judgment simply means that finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. And then the sentence we're on after this. So after uh understanding what's worthy and what's not, after this, their ability to choose, their ability to choose can be reasonably directed. So he's saying that their ability to choose can't be directed until after we understand what's worthy and what's not. So hope you got a good understanding of that. What's worthy is what's eternal, what's true, what comes from the creations of love, what's unworthy is fear, judgment, condemnation, things like that. So this is the process he's explaining the process of uh right evaluation, understanding what's worthy and what's not. And then once that distinction has been made, the vacillations between free and imprisoned will cannot but continue. That's basically saying the vacillations will stop between free and imprisoned will. Okay, so uh once once the distinction is made. So he's saying unless this distinction is made, the vacillations will continue. So to have those vacillations between free will and imprisoned will come to an end, you got to have this distinction. Okay, so we're gonna talk a little bit about that. Free will, imprison will, all right. So this is why the mind feels like it's confined, it's powerless or it's trapped. It's this imprison will. Forth between feeling free and feeling like you're in bondage. Your free will is your natural state. Okay, this your free will is the will you share with God. Imprisoned will is the ego's version of your will. This is the will that attempts to choose between illusions instead of between truth and illusions. It keeps you out of that level of actually choosing what's true and keeps you in choosing between meaningless things. That's the imprisoned will. Okay, so uh one idea of that um is I I saw this recently. Someone was saying, I'm proud of uh my aging, I'm proud of my wrinkles, and I'm proud of all this, which you know, perfectly awesome. Uh then they go, the alternative, it's way better than the alternative that I am dead, right? That's an example of choosing between illusions. Choosing aging or death. Isn't that nice that how the ego uh just lays it out so clearly like that? Uh you're you're always you're always going toward death, but you you can choose between aging or earlier death. How about that? Uh that seems like a reasonable ego choice, right? Ah, thank goodness I got the aging and not the early death. That's choosing between illusions. So choosing the truth is choosing to see there's a third choice.

SPEAKER_01:

It's choosing to see that those things are both illusions and they're projected.

SPEAKER_00:

See, we've just we've been just repeating the same belief over and over and over again, making it so real and believable that someone comes up with a third choice and it sounds unbelievable.

SPEAKER_01:

It's so silly, so silly.

SPEAKER_00:

Kalama said, bad mother or dead. I love it. Yep, good. Yeah, I know. Sometimes these examples just help unearth things that are playing in your mind, right? You get the bad mother thing. I love the bad mother thing. This does not even play out in my experience at all anymore. I just saw completely through it and saw the ridiculousness of it. But um, you know, I can recall getting the sense. Yeah, you see their illusions. Awesome. I can recall getting the sense that I'm such a bad mother that I deserve to die. I'm like, whoa, that's intense. You know, it's fun, it's fun to see how dramatic they get, you know. And then what the more dramatic it is, it's like, oh, you know, the more it's revealing, oh, okay, this is just something to be released from. It doesn't really have any power. It's kind of comical, actually. So when you haven't discerned what's valuable from what's valueless, you can't help but waver. You're gonna go between freedom and vomit and bondage. So if you still believe illusions can offer you something that's desirable, your will must be divided. Imagine choosing aging over early death. Isn't that funny? Those are our two choices, really. That's hilarious. And if you do that, you're gonna be pulled in two directions toward peace, but still attracted to conflict, toward truth, but totally invested in making the illusion true. Well, that's just what happens as you age, for instance, toward freedom, but seeking security in the prison of the world. So, what Jesus is saying is this vacillation between free and imprisoned will can't end until you decide, you make the distinction clearly in your own mind that only the truth is valuable and all illusion is nothing. So aging and death are actually nothing. There's no choice between the two because they're nothing. That's just one example. It could be any illusion, you know, choosing uh uh between, you know, sacrificing to keep someone around or uh or kicking them out. That's choosing between illusion. All you need to go do is go to love. All things work together uh when you're allowing your mind to be free. That's your free will. Blessing, blessing, blessing. Only truth is valuable and all illusion is nothing. Once you accept this, your will won't be split anymore.

SPEAKER_01:

You're projecting in a habit. Good job. That's good that you're seeing that it's a habit. That's great.

SPEAKER_00:

So having imprisoned will is really a state of confusion. It's not a real state, it's not a real mental state. These confused states are not real mental states, they're dream states. When your mind believes in illusion, your will becomes enslaved to something that's not true. Sometimes I have people tell me, oh, it'll take a long time for all these people to get it in the world, and it's like you don't know that. The world's an illusion. Ah, they already got it. It's only my perception that they didn't. Holy moly. So when your mind is believing in illusion, it's making any illusion true, your will is enslaved. But when you recognize the truth, your will is naturally free. The truth is our unity. So that freedom is freedom to bless, freedom to join, freedom to enjoy one another. So any feeling of being stuck or conflicted or affected by people or something else is not a flaw. It's just a sign that you're lacking clear evaluation. When you evaluate rightly, that's the liberation of your will. You don't feel stuck or anything. I mean, for me, I don't need to seem like I'm doing anything, I don't need to seem like I'm being uh productive in the world to feel completely satisfied. Right? I don't mind, it's okay. Not trying to avoid productivity in the world, it's just that none of this stuff affects who I am, and I actually enjoy a thought that pops up to tell me who I am based on illusions. It's uh it's pretty funny, it's pretty funny for me. So whenever you're feeling unstable or conflicted, you're not sure what choice to make, return to the root. There may be different roads to go in the world.

SPEAKER_01:

Ask.

SPEAKER_00:

Let me see what's real. Those roads, those different roads, many different roads in the world, will be taken care of automatically. They may seem to be decisions that you make, but these those are not real decisions that you make. If you will become more curious as to seeing that you never make a decision between things in the world, your will will be totally released to be guided by the spirit in you, and you won't be seeing illusions as if they can harm you. As soon as an illusion that's a thought, okay, or a thought form that doesn't speak to eternity, that doesn't speak to perfect love. As soon as it's seen as valueless, you can align with the freedom in you and actually see the truth beneath the illusion that's being presented. The illusion that's being presented is just kind of like overlaid right on the surface, but underneath that is always love, it's only love. So it's like you see past what isn't there to relate with what's actually there. That's the joining.

SPEAKER_01:

That's your freedom. You want to join with yourself.

SPEAKER_00:

Go to love, Kalama says. Yeah, security in the loot in the illusion is a good opportunity to recognize that there is no security in the illusion, there's only security in your true identity. There's no security in the illusion, and likewise, nothing in the illusion can harm or threaten you.

SPEAKER_01:

You're totally untouched by that. So paragraph six, sentence one.

SPEAKER_00:

The first step toward freedom, then, must entail a sorting out of the false from the true. All right. Paragraph six. So this is uh the first step toward freedom must entail a sorting out of the false from the true. So this isn't discern discerning between people or their behaviors, it's not between good and bad in the egoic sense. Is that good behavior or is bad at that bad behavior? Is that behavior coming from love? That's another one. Is that behavior? No, it's not like that. It's is my perception loving. It's not is their behavior loving. See that? That's an important thing to get. Whatever they seem to do, that's coming from you. You don't need to evaluate whether their behavior is loving or not, even if your behavior is loving or not, no need to evaluate that.

SPEAKER_01:

What's your experience?

SPEAKER_00:

Is the experience not embracing what seems to be there? That's what that's the effect of making an illusion true. That's why there's this uh unwillingness to embrace what seems to be there because it's been made real. If it's not made real, what's it's just embraced? It's simply embraced. It's so it's it's so loved and loving uh uh underneath what we make of it, the miscreation that's painted over the top of it. You know, your kid says, F you, you're the worst mom, and you're like, Oh, that's sweet. Thanks. Thanks for expressing yourself. You know, it's like you just don't get, you know, you don't start taking things personal. You recognize that if you're experiencing pain, if you're experiencing suffering of any kind, that's caused by a secret belief that you're trying to project so you're not aware of it. But when you discern, truly discern or judge, as being used here, um, or actually in this sentence, it's being called sorting out. That's what it's being called here. So you're sorting out what's false, the ego, and what's true, Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_01:

This has nothing to even do with people's behaviors. So the sorting out isn't judging against yourself either.

SPEAKER_00:

It's clarity, it's learning to distinguish the difference between fear and love, guilt and innocence, attack and joining, illusion and reality. This is the meaning of the final judgment. You actually learn to recognize what never had any value. That's how you become free. And you know, this is the way I've been practicing, that's why everything in the world is so freaking lovely to me. I love it. Whatever it seems to be, however, it shows up, it's like, oh, good. This is how you become free. It's not having something uh taken away from you that you want, you just stop choosing what's hurting you. You no longer mistake illusions for something that could satisfy you, and therefore it's not desirable. You know, true desire is always for the peace of God.

SPEAKER_01:

It's for God, it's for knowing yourself.

SPEAKER_00:

So you stop mistaking, mistaking other things as something you could possibly desire. If they arise for you and you enjoy them, great. It's knowing you don't need to grasp for it for anything. Things that you can you can apparently enjoy just continue to arise as you continue to enjoy them. And how do you enjoy them? You recognize that you bring the joy to the situation, that it has no power over you. And this way you don't become dependent on anything that seems to be in the world, any person, any dynamic, anything, amount of money, anything like that. So this is a foundational step in awakening. Jesus said the first step toward freedom then must entail a sorting out of the false from the true. The first step toward freedom must entail this sorting out. You know how much resistance I see to this? It's hilarious. You guys, I see so much uh uh, you know, claiming that this is where a Course in Miracles is actually dualistic because it's talking about doing this. It's like, okay, let's just go ahead and veer off and spend some more years and then we come back around again. This is something that uh that needs to be seen, this ability that you have been given to sort out. You gave yourself this ability to judge, and now you can use it to sort out that which is bondage and that which is freedom. Okay. Uh, bondage is always the result of confusing illusion with truth, like giving illusions magical powers. We've talked about this stuff, right? Uh, in earlier ACIM meetings. Freedom is the result of seeing illusion for what it is, absolutely nothing. So he's not asking you, Jesus isn't asking you to fight the ego. He's not asking you to even uproot illusions, they just arise, just naturally, they come up. Notice when you're being being given an opportunity to be released. Christine says you have a row of lights from your heart to your throat to the head. I know that's that's the sun coming in through the blinds. That's pretty fun, right? This is my last time in this uh the in this space with this background. So enjoy this Bullhead City background because I'm leaving Bullhead City on Saturday, and uh I won't do another one. I don't think I'll do another one. You never know what's gonna go on. I won't do another one until Washington, probably, which will be sometime maybe the second week of December. Yeah. So, yes, in this space, I happen to have this is where it is, and so we have this. Isn't that so fun? I love it too. All right, okay, let's see. Where are we now? The first step toward freedom then must entail a shorting at a sorting out, not a shorting out, a sorting out of the false from the true. So Jesus is saying, look clearly, just look clearly, be willing to see. The rest will take care of itself. Really, the minutiae of the world actually takes care of itself when you put your well, it always does take care of itself, but it seems to go more smoothly and just arise without so much effort and and eventually even no effort on your part when you're willing to see clearly and let the spirit take care of the minutiae of your life. Being willing to see. So once the false is seen as false, it's not binding you anymore. It may come back around and you got to do it again. It's okay. Keep doing it, it's worth it, I promise. Once the true is recognized as what's true, it's naturally drawing toward you. This is why discernment is the first step. Because without discernment, the mind can't yet choose free freely. See, because you only know these choices of things you can choose, uh, these roads you can choose in the ego's world as being your choice. So your will is imprisoned until you recognize uh this sorting out, this sorting out process. This is where you actually release your will from imprisonment. So you were asking for a tool earlier, Kalama. How about this? Holy Spirit, help me distinguish false from true. And then notice what happens in your body's energy field. Just interject a thought like that. You have a lot of thoughts to choose from. Choose one that feels good. You might even write it down and practice it for the day. That's what a course in miracles is all about, anyways. You can do a course in miracles or you can mess around like this. You don't actually have to do a course in miracles to learn a course in miracles. Everyone will learn it. If you feel inspired to it, I I recommend uh listening to my readings of each lesson and contemplation. You can find that on my website under Free Resources. So notice that a false perception, when you're choosing falsehood, it produces a contraction in the body's energy field. When there's a shift to what's true, like after you ask, help me distinguish the false from true, you'll you'll notice a sense of spaciousness. And even if it's small, notice it. Notice the sense of relief, even if it's tiny. So this is your willingness at play right here. The more you notice it and you appreciate it, the more you're gonna find it popping up, the more you're gonna find it working to your benefit. So let your freedom begin right away by letting the Holy Spirit help you see what's true and what's false. What's true is eternal, what's false is ego made. And yay, okay, we go on to paragraph six sentence two. This is a process of division, only in the constructive sense, and reflects the true meaning of the apocalypse. This is the part where it got really juicy for me. I'm like, oh yeah, I see that. It's a process of division. You're dividing what's valuable, what has value from what doesn't have value. That's why Jesus is saying it's division only in the constructive sense. And it's reflecting the true meaning of the apocalypse. Normally we see this as something catastrophic, right? Doesn't it sound like that? Apocalypse, uh, catastrophic destruction, divine wrath, right? Final elimination of all those unworthy people, all those evil people, right? So uh Jesus is pointing out how this is misunderstood. This is a misunderstanding, and there's a footnote here, footnote 169. It says this refers to the book of Revelation, also called the apocalypse of John. In other words, it's the process of God evaluating people, throwing those who don't measure up into the lake of fire and preserving only the elect. This is from Revelations 20, 12 through 15, is really one of us evaluating our thoughts and acts, throwing our miscreations away, and preserving only the good. People live in fear of this threat of God's judgment, secretly believing they're guilty, but hoping that they were good enough, right? Because in the book of Revelation it says this. So in Revelation, the apocalypse is portrayed as God evaluating people, separating the elect from the condemned, throwing unworthy people into a lake of fire. No wonder people are like, wow, that Bible is a shitty book. Sounds terrible. Sounds like God is terrible, but Jesus is overturning this completely. It's like, ah, thank goodness. We don't have to go by that. I wasn't gonna do it anyways. I threw the whole Bible out many years ago. I'm like, this is ridiculous. So the true apocalypse is not God dividing people. Can you imagine God dividing his son and going, this one's worthy, and this one's not? This one's coming for uh heavenly glory, and the other one's going into a lake of fire where they're gonna be screaming in pain forever. Come on. So the apocalypse, the true apocalypse, is you dividing your thoughts. See how it says this is a process of division only in the constructive sense. This is the mind sorting out what's real from what's unreal. This is about releasing miscreations, it's not about punishing any beings, of course. See how we had to work up to this part. It's like first we realize okay, there's no punishment in this at all. No one's getting punished. Punishment is an illusion. So in ACIM terms, a lake of fire is really nothingness. All right, this is where illusion disappears when it's recognized as illusion. You could say it goes into the lake of fire, which is nothingness, it never comes back. That's why this kind of division is constructive. Okay, it restores your clarity, it reinstates your innocence, it eliminates fear, and it preserves only what God created. Your holy self. It dissolves what was never true, what was painted over the holy self of God. This is God's creation. God created uh his creations just like himself. This is God's self created to be in relationship with God. This is the true meaning of the apocalypse where we're dividing what's true from what's not true. This is not the end of the world, this is the end of our confusion. This is not some kind of destruction, destruction of anybody's destruction of anything. It's discernment, it's true judgment, it's right judgment. And it's rather than being divine wrath, it's divine recognition, it's recognition of the self, the true self. It's the moment the mind separates reality from illusion and chooses reality. That's an apocalypse. Do you see that? The illusion, the part that's illusion, that's just falling away as nothing. Total apocalypse. So what the ego refers to as destruction, Jesus would call healing. And you know, the ego would call this punishment too. So so many people are like, no, I'm not doing that. I'm not letting that person off the hook, for instance. I like referring to that person as a thing, so I don't have to identify as even being a similar being to them. I'm gonna refer to them as a thing. I hear people doing that. There's no one outside of yourself, you're only doing that to yourself. The ego fears an ending with this kind of apocalypse, the real apocalypse. Jesus calls it a beginning. Basically, this is the truth of Jesus' coming. You know how the churches are always saying Jesus is coming soon. This is Jesus coming. This is a constructive division he's talking about, a sorting out that blesses everything and lets everything fall. So it can't get a blessing, anyways. It's false, it lets it fall away. So when any of your old patterns surface, and you can know that they're an old pattern if you got an upset feeling, that takes millions of years to construct. Any old pattern surface, instead of fighting them, see them like this. Holy Spirit, let me sort out. Let me sort this out. Same thing as let me see, it's pretty much the same. Just looking at it from different points of view helps you really get it, helps this click when you're ready for it. You don't have to try, just pay attention to that which inspires you. If this inspires you, just keep paying attention to it. Let this be a gentle and loving apocalypse for you. Unveiling of the truth in your mind. Let this be a reframing of every trigger.

SPEAKER_01:

Let this be an opportunity for revelation.

SPEAKER_00:

And it does uh give you the sense that you're in an apocalypse because it's kind of like, whoa, what am I doing? I'm not following the status quo. This is not familiar to me. It seems like unfamiliar territory at first. Where you're like, oh, I don't have to choose any illusions, I just choose love.

SPEAKER_01:

I choose truth, I choose the eternal. Everyone is doing awesome. I love you. All right, paragraph six, sentence three.

SPEAKER_00:

Everyone will ultimately look upon what he has made and will to preserve only what is good, just as God himself once looked upon what he had created, and knew that it was good. So this is a uh a nice loaded sentence, and this sentence really speaks to how uh I see myself putting this into practice and having put this into practice for many years, right? So this sorting process, every mind will eventually look clearly at everything it is made and choose to keep only what reflects love. That is what is good. So this is mirroring that biblical creation statement, reference in the footnote. There's a footnote here, footnote 170, Genesis 131. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. But notice this distinction: God's creation are only good, they're wholly good, because they arise from love and they're extensions of love. But what the ego makes is mixed: illusion, fear, projection, fantasies, pleasure, defenses, all the forms of unreality. So the final judgment is the moment the mind looks at what it has made and recognizing what reflects love, that's reflecting truth, eternity, and it's worth keeping. What's reflecting fear isn't even there. It's false, it's temporary. It's to be gently let go. So let's say you get the perception of someone slighting you. That's false. It's temporary, it's temporary. Be relieved of it, let it go. It's not true, it's not eternal, it's not worth keeping. What I perceive in my experiences is that when I keep on inter interacting with a person who seems to be slighting me over time, they get sweeter and sweeter and sweeter because I'll only give any weight, any value to what's true. I don't give value to that stuff. I know it's just coming from my mind. I know it's not coming from the apparent person in the world who seems to, I don't know, maybe not like me. Right? I don't need to uh give that any relevance. It's not possible for any of my brothers to not like me. They love me very much.

SPEAKER_01:

We are actually in one another.

SPEAKER_00:

So to preserve only what good what's good, it means to keep only thoughts aligned with the Holy Spirit. That's how you see past these illusions. You only keep thoughts aligned with the Holy Spirit. Let's say one thought pops up and says, Well, she's a dumb bitch. Oh, that's not a thought aligned with the Holy Spirit, it's a thought I wouldn't keep. Right? Or starts to evaluate. Maybe they're this, maybe nope, not aligned with the Holy Spirit. It's just a form of miscreation. I would release that and recognize only love is real. We totally love each other. And this sense that I'm getting that this person is being catty or bitchy toward me, that's a misperception. I would look right past that.

SPEAKER_02:

Right?

SPEAKER_00:

I'll notice what it is and go, that's not possible because it's not coming from God. So this is uh how we do the same thing as God. Look upon our creations and see that they are only good. That's the thing, that's the unity, that's the coming back to unity. So there's this sorting out where we're dividing what we've made not good, so it's valueless, and that which is eternal, good, valuable, right? And that's how we see that all of our creations are good. What we've made is not all good, it's mixed. See, it's mixed in there with some fear and some other stuff. But what we've created and what we're really looking upon is our creation through the veil. We're not seeing that these uh beings are actually presented as beams of light. What we're witnessing is thought patterns swirling around a beam of light, looking like it's solid. It's not, it's still that beam of light. So this which is not solid but seems solid to our body senses, can be seen right past. And this is the destiny of every mind. No one gets condemned because everyone wakes up, everyone does this. It doesn't matter how dim they may seem to you right now. So make sure you're when you think of them, you think of them as already returned home. They're already at home at one with God, because that's actually the truth. We're watching the past. You could say it's called the past because it's just a bunch of thoughts playing out, meaningless thoughts.

SPEAKER_01:

That's what's being seen at the surface level.

SPEAKER_00:

So this looking upon what has been made, that's uh uh that's this unveiling that Jesus is doing of the apocalypse, right? Looking upon what has been made and calling it good. That's interesting, right? So let's look at that sentence again. Everyone will ultimately look upon what he has made and will to preserve only what is good, just as God Himself once looked upon what he had created and knew that it was good. So we come to know the same thing. When we know our creations like that, we no longer see them as illusions, and what happens right when it's unveiled, looking at what we made, and even recognizing that is actually good. The mind chooses good because good is the only real. This is not a forced choice for the mind, it's the desire of the healed mind to choose good in the midst of perceiving something else, holy, helpful, safe. Right? So anything that feels heavy, guilty, fearful, attacking. Remember, you only want to preserve what's good, everything else, let it be released as untruth. I wrote something today. Let me check it out. I'll read it to you guys. I put it on Facebook. I was probably inspired by me studying this. Let me see, but it just came to me to read it here. If you don't like it, it's not really there as you see it. What you seem to see is only reflecting a secret belief in your own mind, a belief you can be released from. The instant you're willing to question what you're perceiving, the distortion stall starts dissolving. And at the end of the dissolving, what remains is peace and perfect union. So this is talking about really this sorting out, seeing the difference between truth and illusion, and choosing truth. So, are you willing to look at what you made without being afraid of it? Are you willing to trust that only the loving is worth preserving, that everything else can fall away without losing anything, without you losing anything? You know, uh sometimes I notice what we would call toxic relationships, really. I mean, uh anything that's called the toxic relationship or looks like a talk toxic relationship, it's some intense learning. It's an intense Intense learning uh uh uh purpose. So nothing's wrong. There's nothing wrong. I mean, to call it a toxic relationship, what we would call a toxic relationship is just to show what's going on here. You know, it's some advanced learning, it's some intense learning. So, you know, it's like it's like these things fall away because you don't need them anymore to learn anything when you see the purpose of the interacting, like let's say some relating that doesn't feel good when you see the teaching that was meant to come through, the purpose for that interacting concludes and then there's no more interacting. You're gonna see some scenario play out that uh leads to the separation, a breakup, whatever, anything like that. Um, but that's just part of the play. The reason you're not interacting anymore is because you've already learned what you needed to learn from that dynamic. Okay. Anything that feels painful, any dynamic that feels feels painful, anything like that, um, it's falling away as you do this sorting out. Okay, it'll either change to meet you. It's your new uh state of consciousness, you could say, state of mind where you've established yourself now, um, or the relationship will fall away. And don't even worry about how that goes. You know, it's like when you are uh completely committed to the truth, to just choosing the truth, you can rest assured that all of your relationships and everything are going perfectly, they're going just as you need them to go. It's really perfect. So, paragraph six, sentence four. At this point, the mind will begin to look with love on what it has made. This is my experience. This is totally my experience, and this is really where everything shifted. This is where everything changed. The mind just being able to look with love on what it made because of what it made has great worthiness. It's not that what you've made is unworthy, what you've made of it is unworthy of you. Let's say that the ego's narrative that you believe that is unworthy of you. What you made is wholly loving because it is of you. That's just not the way you see it when it seems to be something you don't like. Jesus now just is describing this shift that happens, okay? And this is the shift that I experienced and continue to experience. You know, on certain moments it'll seem like, oh, love is lost, and then it's back again. Like, you know, one thing for me is just like uh uh uh give me the love of God, let me receive the love of God, beloved, return to me. You know, whatever it is I need that you could say is a tool, Kalama. It's a tool, whatever it is that resonates with me. If I feel like I'm not receiving the love of God in the moment, then I'm asking to receive the love of God and ask it is given. What I ask for is given. So he's talking about the shift that happens here. At this point, the mind will begin to look with love on what it has made because of its great worthiness. So the reason you can do this at this point, he's saying, at this point, okay, he's describing a shift that happens. Once you've sorted out the true from the false, right? And you've chosen to preserve only what's good, that's when you look upon what you made with love. Why? Because all that remains after you have sorted out illusions from the truth is what reflects God. So to me, all just automatically, it just automatically reflects God. I could see my own patterns, I could see my hidden self-belief in there, and it's just revealed to me. Oh, this is how you get released from that. Okay, great. That's why I just love everything I made. It all helps me, it's all helpful to me. This is the moment, you know, when everything only reflects God. This is the moment fear is totally removed from your perception. There's no guilt, there's no projection, all that stuff stopped. And the mind is seeing with the eyes of Christ, even while still perceiving things as if they're outside of yourself, because you've practiced so much. Now you only know what's true. It doesn't matter if it's projected outside of yourself. You don't see it that way, even though you see it that way in form. You don't see it that way truly because you know it's within you. It's all within you, and it's all worthy of your love, not deserving of any condemnation of any kind. We are not here to condemn the world. See, it's not like the mind begins to love its miscreations either. It's that those have been let go.

SPEAKER_01:

Now you're just seeing with the eyes of perfection. This is where the mind loves its true creations.

SPEAKER_00:

This is where the mind's thought about its creations is aligned with the Holy Spirit. That's why it can even love what it makes. Recognizing that these things that we are even perceiving are extensions of love and giving extensions of love and demonstrating acts of joining because that's just where the mind's at. It can't even help it.

SPEAKER_01:

Forgiveness, blessing.

SPEAKER_00:

It's allowing miracles to just come through this mind that's in love with its creation. That's how it is to me. Everything's sweet.

SPEAKER_01:

It doesn't matter what it is, everything's sweet to me. This is what's worthy.

SPEAKER_00:

These joining, forgiveness. This is really what's worthy because it's sharing the nature of God, enjoying. When the mind is willing to see only what's real, only loving, it naturally just loves what it sees. And that's the feeling I have, that's a kinship I have with everything I perceive, not just people either. Everything, just in love, and that's a result of seeing everything as impersonal and recognize it's a blessing, it's come to help me heal my misperceptions, and I still see it that way. I see that there are misperceptions to be healed, even going forward. Great, it only needs to be healed in a dream, truly, it's already been done.

SPEAKER_01:

So I'm playing it out through loving and enjoying everything and everyone and every circumstance.

SPEAKER_00:

So, this is the healed parallel of God looking on his own creation and declaring them very good. This is something that we end up doing too. This is where this leads us, the shorting, this sorting out, not shorting out, the sorting out period leads us to this. It leads us to looking on our own creations just like God and declaring them very good. It's all good. Because the mind can't look on love, it can't look with love on that which it fears. That's why first there needs to be release from fear. That's what that sorting out is. That's what judgment, the final judgment. Our mind cannot be loving to what it's condemning. That's just how it goes. And when the mind is condemning, it's blank because the mind's only capable of being loving. See that? But when the mind recognizes everything, everything that comes in form, everything that arises, this comes from love, even a thought that's totally delusional. This comes from love, and it's a meaningless thought. Thank you very much. Yay! All right, so that's recognizing this comes from my truce true self. This is of God. That's why we're able to just remind respond in love. We've already sorted out everything we've overlaid over our creations, even as we continue, seem to see in separation, where we seem to see suffering, we seem to see aging, we seem to see death and loss, we seem to be seem set to see separate bodies. There's another site that interprets all that. It's Christ's vision, and it must respond with love, it only responds with love, not as an emotional reaction. This is a recognition. Okay, the mind is seeing the worthiness of its true creations, and those there's nothing else but its true creations, and it's seeing its own worthiness in its creations. So, this is how we bring about the end of self-attack. This is the true apocalypse. It's the end of guilt, it's the end of perceiving ourselves as being capable of sinning in any way. To love what you've made is what happens when you have allowed the Holy Spirit to see the Holy Spirit's vision to be used to look and recognize your innocence within everything. So, whenever you experience a moment of clarity or kindness or inspiration or any kind of joining, the other night I uh overheard a man asking the waitress to uh use his credit card to pay for the whole table, and I just recognize that. Oh, that's kindness, and that's coming from me. See that? I know it's the ego thought, oh, I love it if someone bought my food tonight, and I just go, that's hilarious. Oh, that's joining. See they still pop up, it's just that they don't have that meaning. You just look on everything's just so loving. This is how our miracle-mindedness gets strengthened, well, you know, recognizing that whatever worthy whatever this is is worthy because it because it comes from my true self, and I only want to look on it with love. This is how we strengthen miracle-mindedness. This is how we undo the ego's habit of dismissing or minimizing the good. See, so on one hand, we have this uh useful division where we're sorting out what's real from what's false, right? What's true from what's false, and uh this is how we strengthen this miracle-mindedness, and this is how the ego's habit of minimizing good things and uh totally focusing on things that seem to be bad or against us or threatening happens. This is how our mind is trained to recognize our holiness, which is shared, it's always shared, you know. Even recognize any kind of drama. Oh, that'll notice how that feels. It's actually murderous thoughts because it's projecting what you want to keep hidden with the ego in your unconscious mind, it's projecting it outward as if it's there, it's totally tricking yourself, it's a trick on yourself. Condemnation, self-condemnation. So, are you willing to look lovingly on your true creations? Would you look past the things that are not your true creations? See, and see those thoughts, see see those extensions of love, see those joinings, see everything that comes from love. Not have a tolerance for illusions, that means that you're just not making them true. You're recognizing that comes from a false thought and letting it fall away, knowing that there's no loss to you in that. There's absolutely no sacrifice in this. So, woo-hoo, sentence five. I'm gonna just do sentence five. I might go a couple minutes over, but this is the last sentence of paragraph six. So we're gonna do it because it's fun. The mind will inevitably disown its miscreations, and having withdrawn belief from them, they will no longer exist. Isn't that great? So he's describing now the inevitable culmination. This is what's gonna happen when we do the sorting process, sorting truth from illusion, the constructive division he was talking about, and the loving recognition of what's good. This is the result. The mind disowns its miscreations. Remember, what is a miscreation? Let's go over this one more time so we know what the mind is disowning here. Jesus is talking about the mind disowning its miscreation. So that's a thought born of fear, an ego-made belief, an illusion of guilt, a projection of attack, an identity built on separation, anything made without love. That's a miscreation. See, these were never creations in truth, they were temporary distortions, they were distortions overlaid over your loving creation, and that came from a mistaken belief about yourself. And Jesus is saying something radical here. Once the mind no longer believes in its miscreation, they cease to exist for that mind. Huh. Isn't that great? I've seen plenty of evidence of this. This is it's amazing. I love the way it's said here. So in ACIM, belief is the source of all illusion. Belief, the underlying cause, all illusion, most of it unconscious, which has also been called unwatched. So illusions don't fall away from being fought or fixed or healed, and all psychology, when we went over that, is not working. They disappear, the illusions disappear simply because the mind, your mind, stops believing in them. This is why A Course in Miracles repeats things like ideas leave not their source, projection makes perception, the world you see is an illusion of your own mind. Okay, because your miscreations can only persist as long as you invest belief in them. Withdraw belief, the illusion dissolves, and you see your loving creation. Even if you don't see it bodies with bodies' eyes, you could see your loving creation with your spiritual eye, and everything speaks to that. You see the oneness here, you see the unity. So this is Jesus giving us the literal process by which awakening occurs. And I'm speaking to this as I have practiced this, I have seen this, this is exactly how it goes. This is why I feel like this with the world, right? This is why I feel in love with the world. No one and nothing can do anything uh to me in my mind, and that's why everything is everything and everyone is doing everything for me. It's only deserving of minimum gratitude. Minimum. So miscreations don't need forgiveness in the usual sense. They don't need forgiveness in the usual sense. In the usual sense, let me give you an example. I forgive myself for making that miscreation. No, that is not it. That's the usual sense Jesus is talking about. They don't need forgiveness in the usual sense, they need disbelief. They fall away because they were never real to begin with. So now there's nothing holding them up. Truth never fights illusions, it ends your belief in them. And when your belief in them is ended, they're not there. They were never there. This is why inevitably every mind disowns guilt, fear, attack, judgment, specialness. Eventually, every mind will disown these things. When clarity dawns, you recognize those were not even real. They came from a mistaken identity, and I was holding on to them, hurting myself with them. I don't need to do that anymore. When your innocence is remembered, when you remember your innocence, you see they were not expressing your true self, they were expressing the ego's will that you were identified with. You were totally blind when that was going on. All right. This is this is new life for you. This is a new way of seeing. This is an elevated way of seeing yourself in the world. When love is restored to your mind, you see clearly these illusions had no value. Miscreations, miscreations, they have no value. So you stop trying to change things, always trying to change things, make things more comfortable. A little bit more of this, a little bit less of that. You just stop believing in these things that seem to be problems. There's no problems. They just change and vanish. There aren't any problems. We're making them up, but you can't just, you know, spiritually bypass this. This is a process that Jesus is showing. You know, he's teaching us how to sort out truth from illusion, how to actually do this. And of course in miracles, like I say a lot, it's a great way to do it. I did it three and a half times. I might be a little hard headed, I'm not sure, but once it got Through, huh? It got through. Okay. And then everything was different. And that's what I want to share with everyone because that's just so good. It's so good. I can't contain it. I just want to extend it. I want to let anyone know who wants to know about it. So whenever you notice any painful story or any fear, instead of that knee-jerked reaction to fix it, just see if you can sit with this is a miscreation. Anything, pain or fear, it's a miscreation. I withdraw from believing in it and watch it dissolve. You will likely have to do that over and over again before you actually see it dissolve in your mind. Um, but recognizing the relief that you get, the moment of relief, the little bit of relief. Keep on recognizing that. Keep on be grateful for it, and it'll grow and grow until all you feel is relief. Okay. So the exact mechanism Jesus is describing is not force, it's not effort, it's not attack on the ego, it's simply a quiet withdrawal of belief toward that thing. That's what this sorting out is. It reminds the mind to what's already true. See, are you willing to withdraw belief from the ego's miscreations? That's all you need to let them fall away, fall away and recognize they weren't even real to begin with. So, yay, everyone, let's do it. Let's do it. It's so exciting. Yeah. All right. So I don't know when I'll be back. It'll be sometime mid-December. Those of you on uh Zoom, you're gonna get something a day before, and you're gonna get something an hour before, letting you know when I'm going on. If you're on Substack, sometimes I uh send an email out. I did that today. I scheduled it earlier and then sent an email out. Um, I do that. Um, look at my website. I'll probably update my website. I've got an events calendar there. Feel free to reach out to me, hopejohnson.org. I've got a chat box there. Also, uh please feel free to donate to my ministry if you feel inspired. This is a tax deductible uh donation, I believe. I mean, it's it is a religious nonprofit and official religious nonprofit. So hopejohnson.org. You could also book one-to-ones on me or get my book. Uh, one-to-one's with me, not on me. Oh, how fun! I love it. I love you guys. Thank you so much. And uh Wayne said, Praise God for Hope Johnson and golden reflection of Christ here now. Oh, thank you, Wayne. I love you. Thanks for joining. And it was good. Yay, thank you. That's a beautiful takeaway, Glenn. I love that takeaway, and it was good. Yay, I'll catch you on the flip side too. I love you so much. Mahalo, aloha, and a hoo-e-hour.
