Gary Trubl, virologist and postdoc at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, has more to share about bacteria-infecting viruses in the arctic. He’s researching how viruses influence the flow of carbon in thawing peatlands — and bioinformatics and isotopes are crucial to the quest.
