Hello and firstly, merry Christmas. I just really wanted to drop in with a quick message because today is Christmas Day, it's a Monday, it's 4am, it's the 25th of December. I don't have any big fancy wedding recording for you today, because really this time of the year you should be taking some time out from wedding planning and enjoying the festivities with your loved ones and those you care about most. The wedding planning will be there next week. You can worry about it then. But really I want to say, also from me, a very Merry Christmas and thank you so much for your support. I'm so glad I get to help you in your wedding planning journey. There's nothing I love more than helping people feel supported and letting them know that it's okay to make your own choices and do what you want for your wedding day. I'm so passionate about people turning up to their wedding day, you know, calm and excited because they've enjoyed the planning process. So thank you so much for being here and I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas day. And you know, of course there's no fancy podcast episode. I'm not editing this. There's no fancy music, nothing. It's just a joyful Merry Christmas message from me.

But I want to give you one quick wedding tip because, hey, that's what I do and that's what you need and that's what you're here for. So my wedding tip this week is don't spend money where it's not necessary and wasteful, especially at Christmas time. Right, because we all know how expensive that can be and weddings are expensive and everything in the world is quite expensive right now. Right, we're going into coming out of 2023 and going into 2024 and inflation's insane. So please don't spend money where it's not necessary. And, for example, I'm going to give you some quick examples. You know, if no one can see the cars you're arriving in, do not spend money on fancy cars. Just borrow some nice cars from family and friends. I wish I did that, because I got dropped off my wedding in these big fancy limousines. No one saw us arrive because they were down at the ceremony and then they stayed there for the reception, so we never went anywhere.

Speaker 1:

Don't waste money on cars. Do not go and waste money on a bouquet to us or guard our. If you do not want to do those things, there's no need. And if you don't want us pay for a bouquet, ask a bridesmaid, can you throw theirs or throw yours? If you're not worried. Don't waste money there if you don't want to do it especially.

Speaker 1:

Another thing is, if you don't have a budget for favours, just give a dollar or even 50 cents if that's all you can afford for each guest to a charity and tell them you know you've given a donation instead of wasteful favours, and everyone will appreciate that. And another tip you don't need an open bar. Oh my gosh, no one expects that. Just pick two beers, one white, one red and one sparkling, and everyone will be happy. So yeah, just be mindful of not spending where it's not needed. Save your pennies for your honeymoon or your house that you want to buy, whatever it is. But that's my quick tip and I wish you a very, very, very merry christmas and I hope that you, you know, get to enjoy it. I know it's a tough time sometimes for some people, but you know you're about to marry the person of your dreams. So hug them, love them this christmas and I will be back in the new year to help you plan the wedding of your dreams. Bye for now.
