SPEAKER_00

And now for something completely different. The wake-up call on K SJE. Alright, sir. I just gotta ask you, do you feel completely different? You've already done one show with me now. Officially. Official title. And you made the mistake of saying, okay, I'll fill in. So here you sit with me again. So you feel ready to go?

SPEAKER_02

Heck yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, so this guy. Uh you'd not heard of this guy, had you?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I can tell you, I absolutely adore he plays a different kind of like uh what I would call big band music. But I I know you looked up some stuff on him on uh on your page or on your phone too.

SPEAKER_06

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Um but typically he's a he's a tall, skinny guy, and he uh typically has two women on stage with him, one on each side. And you know, they have a happy Christmas. Is where I fell in love with him when they did a Christmas song I don't know, a few years ago and I've just been keeping up with him every side of the side. We have to make I don't know we had enough he's got a b he's been out a long time.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And we're gonna go through about his history too. So if if if you're ready, I think I think I'm ready. Let's uh let's see if we can do it. Okay. Take a deep breath.

SPEAKER_01

Summers in full swing. WC is making it even hotter with some great tonnage. Uh uh, I mean tonnage. Sorry, Dave, didn't mean to bring you into this. Sit back, grab a cup of something, and crank it up. WC is on the air exclusively on KSJE.

SPEAKER_04

All that I got for your crown. Yeah, I may be acting foolish, I'm kinda schoolish, but it's a game for me, cause life can get too serious. So I've been flying in to get the lyrics. Ever trying to be the bell. So I was trying to wrap it up in time to day. Oh nice Vegas, baby vegan. And where I'm going, I never live within the boncu. Yeah, in the Vegas, baby vegan. I'm gonna do it. Oh yeah, I'll win your love. So I be up and with stead and some tuck season, file for a luxury sweep by the food. And then I head to the strip, but my skin's dip, dip, but then accessorize a diamond in juice. Yeah, I may be acting crazy and kinda hazy, but it's a game to me, cause life can get too serious. So I've been flying into cantilea. Hit off it, trying to be the bell. So I will try to wrap it up and talk to them. Oh, that's big us, baby vegan. Where I'm gonna gamble it, but then I'm on you. Yeah, little vegas, baby, vegas. Oh yeah, y'all love the rich and all the fair love. Oh, that's very vega. And where I'm gonna live within the phone you big us, baby vegan. Shane, I'm gonna do it. Oh yeah, I'm winning your love, baby vegan, ring, baby, baby, vegetables, Shane, I'm gonna do it. Oh yeah, I'm winning your love. Make us baby vegas.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, we're winning your love. They can hear us now. Oh. I'm telling you, i if I swang a different way, I would be chasing him. I just, you know, he's I I you know, I I hope he didn't take this wrong. He's not very pretty.

SPEAKER_02

But he's like those six foot tall.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, he's got such a great voice, and his energy is unmatched, and of course, who am I talking about? Who am I talking about? You know, we just talked about him. With the guy that just played that song. Who is it? Cy. Yeah, we got Cantron, I guess. Oh yeah, Cranston. Yeah, we messed it up. You know, I'm sorry, Cy, but his name is actually Simon David Cranston. So we kinda have a thing, you know, David. If I got hooked up with him, we could be the double D's. He was born October the uh 1971. He's an English writer who spent many years as a musker. I don't know what that is. No.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you play on the street, and you open your guitar case. And play for many.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he did that on the street of London and he performed in the duel. Duelers, duelers, uh, an aka ska band he formed with his brother Tyler before becoming better known as a composer and singer of music influenced by the 1950s and sixties rock and roll and rhythm and rock and we're gonna play some more of his music for sure. I and I'll have some more information about him. I think I think I think I heard we can hear the rest of the audience as well. Um I guess really something about really go home this time, and then um I'm hoping that'll make what I have to say for the things that make you go home will make you go. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You never know what I'm gonna say.

SPEAKER_00

Uh cue. I mean, make sure that you say home or make me feel bad. Yeah, exactly. Not yet when I say when I give you a bit of information. Well listen, I I pulled some, you know, uh I learned I I fell in love with him. Um seeing him, seeing Facebook feed, just little clips of him, and it was in the Christmas music, and he came on with uh some Christmas music and he was playing and it was original Christmas music uh obviously. But uh he came on and the two ladies were playing on the beside him and they were in short velvet dresses. That's what I and then the top you know, red velvet off top to bottom, except for the short and they danced beside him. Yeah, pretty cool, pretty cool. Well, anyway, I got a birthday coming up this month. As a matter of fact, it's ten days away from right now.

SPEAKER_02

Your birthday?

SPEAKER_00

My birthday, yes. Oh my gosh. And so I pulled this song too.

SPEAKER_02

You're 21.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm gonna be 21. Uh uh.

SPEAKER_04

I hope you have yourself a real nice time. I hope that it's a special occasion, one of celebration for you. I sure hope you get everything you want. I hope the moon stars are shining through. Happy birthday to you. Okay, we're kind of spirit be standing by. I hope that you will let you take to the sky. Uh bug birthday, we have you pocky, cocky, pocky, oh happy birthday. I hope that you get everything you want. I hope the moon is starting to shine. I hope you have yourself your lifetime. I hope that gets suspicious. I sure hope you get a baby one. I hope no more than starts, shut it to Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, Mary, Mary Lu Why must you do the things that you always do? Yeah, I've been here crying, sippin' and sliin, the thing, yes, I've been you know the other night, you told me you were the mama, some mama, who's in love with you, sir, be a bummer I can see that we love you, beep, beep and blue, in the wheel that's the matter with you. What's the matter with you? What in the world is the matter with you? Mary, Mary, Marloo, what in the world is the matter with you?

SPEAKER_00

Alright, how can you not love this guy? I mean, honestly, I just I'm crazy about him. I I don't know. I just I love the voice, I love his energy. You should look up some of his videos. He's got great energy. These kind of funny kind of things. Yeah, please do. Alright, so I think I don't know if you're ready for this, but uh it is time for one of my favorite things.

SPEAKER_01

Things that make you go. Here's David with things that make you go. All your money back.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, this is some interesting stuff, or at least I think it is. Um silly constitutional amendments never happened. So we're gonna talk about it. All right. At least one of them. Uh a U.S. constitutional's amendment was proposed in in 1893 suggesting that the counteractory be renamed as the United States of Earth. There was another failed amendment a few years later, or a few years prior, I mean, um, that wanted a uh to abolish the presidency and install a Roman-style uh emperor kind of thing. As if the United States needed any more compromise comparisons to uh the doomed Roman Empire. Kind of like it feels now.

SPEAKER_02

Well we won't get into that.

SPEAKER_00

No, that's not no, we don't talk politics here. We just we kind of keep it up to meeting positive and try to bring smiles to people's faces. And uh when we are talking about politics, they either want to frown or they want to be cracked. So it just goes down at any particular given time. But I really, I tell you, I I really am enjoying um uh this stuff for sure. I just absolutely um adore this guy. I I don't know why, but just something about him. Love his music, love his style. I highly recommend that you look at it. I am David, you are of course it is uh if you didn't listen to the last week show, then you can listen to the last week show. Because it is on the website. Oh my god, there we go. That's all we need to do. Well hell exactly what I was thinking for sure. Alright, let's say some more about Cy Crandon. Am I pronouncing that correctly? Yeah, Cy, you're welcome to call us and give me a hard time, anytime. We just gave out the posting music.

SPEAKER_02

Here we go.

SPEAKER_04

Mary, Mary Lu. Why must you do the things that you always do? Yeah, I've been here crying, sipping and sighing, the thing, yes, popping has love you. I know the other night you told me you were mama, some woman, who's in love with you, sir, be a mama rooster I can see that we love you, be the loop, in the world that's the matter with you. I'll be so in the world that's the matter with you. What in the world is the matter with you? What in the world is the matter with you Listen to me I sing lose to my tooth when I'm on some night's alright memory As easy got on some ring I'm a hip with him You want to use it on a five rocket I truly appreciate the melody J said I was born on a melody on the street Well that song is strong enough school way I'll see you. If you walk the temporary music whack, try a rollback. If you want the temporary music whack, try to roll back. If you find you're in a mediocre trap, try to roll back.

SPEAKER_00

Get a Rolex.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know, you know what? I did I not turn you on. Yeah, you're on. Uh I I think I had I no, I did, I had a Rolex. And I did uh I I traded it for a bullet. And I still have the bullets in there in my drawer box. Alright, well this is K-S-J-E. It's the wake-up call. And we have Sarah sitting in for bread. Um and you know what? I I'm so glad you you opted to do this. I hope I'm not abusing you too much. But uh yeah, I'm gonna use you up a little bit. We're gonna get into more information about uh Cy because I think he's a very interesting carrier, uh character for sure. Um you know he he said he said that Elvis Presley's music was the first music that he ever listened to, and Presley profoundly influenced his taste. Uh he had told interview this as a kid I used to spend all my pocket money on vintage records from the fifties and sixties. I got it home, I listened to it, I loved it, I sang along to it. So I you know, I can say that his style draws heavily on music of that period. Um for sure. He said uh of his new single Never Gonna Let You Go, and I probably should pull that out. Uh let me play that next half. It was a Motown soul fused with rock and roll. Um and well, they said it uh could never be done. So this song is going to prove them wrong. So I guess I need to pull that, because that's his quote for him. Uh Chris Evans described his vintage I like that last name. Yeah, vintage point uh pop as a squeeze of the bee cheese, a bit of Billy Joel, a dash of bean freedman, who I have no clue who that is, and a ripple of Rodriguez. That's what how he was described.

SPEAKER_02

Elvis wasn't mentioned in there.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, but he does say that Elvis was his first um. Um, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I guess I've got the red.

SPEAKER_00

Uh also had 24 dance for everyone. I like the dance for the dance for everyone. I think so. What do you think of the guy this far?

SPEAKER_02

I like him. I mean, yeah. I could maybe cover some of his songs. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, hey! Oh, we'll try this one.

SPEAKER_04

I brought a handle to the candle and I set the fire. They hit what's gonna burn it up, legitably, too about the jump. That's whatever gonna get that flip flat. Doing the river Do I feel a rubber roll of thunder? So I get a little like a shape to my stuff. We rollin' it, every corner, just bottom, we're controlling it. Legitabus, two bottles jump. I know you find that hard to believe, but all I do is sit and look pretty, and she takes care of everything else. Ren and uh trying to oh yeah, you don't hear yourself, you should.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah, I'm excited to do it for sure. You know, um we might have talked about this on the first show that you're wrong with me, but have you been overseas at all?

SPEAKER_02

No. Well, my my dad actually was in the air force and we we talked about that because my dad was born in Japan.

SPEAKER_00

My dad was in the Marines and born in Japan. Uh uh, I was born while my dad was in Japan. So they could we have something. I'm David. I'm Sarah. Are you sure? I think so. Every once in a while. Check your ID and we're featuring Cy Cranson. I'm hoping I'm pronouncing your name correctly, Cy. Uh but we're really loving digging your music and I I don't know whether I said this in the first half, but I know I told you I I got turned on to Sai because I you know, I try to watch all the music stuff coming through my Facebook page or TikTok or Instagram. I try to keep trying to keep up with all of that. And so he came across my feed. And I just saw the one song with the with the girls and the dresses, and I thought, this guy is a man after my own heart, right? He's fantastic. Um but the more I look at it, he's got I when I started doing the research for this show, oh my gosh, he's got a ton of stuff. So uh yeah, I'm pretty excited. I don't think he's touring anymore. We should probably try to find out if that's okay, but I don't know. I don't think he's touring. Oh yeah, no to me, that's a compliment to me. You know, if I can get your new band, which is called Twister Faith. Actually, it's kind of perfect. Anyway, um obviously he knew about Twitter, or maybe Twitter was pretty uh young at the time, but he's got a song out, and I wanted to share it. It's called Twitter or Tweet on Twitter. I I I I do you Twitter?

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_00

Good. And I heard that you're gonna try to cover a couple of the songs too.

SPEAKER_02

So let's see.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm gonna hold you to that. Okay. Alright, so I just I found out something else interesting about you. Uh and I used to do this all the time too. I used to go out and look at the stars. You know, I I I used to think I lived in the wrangle for a long time. And I would go out and sit in the back and I could look at the stars, it seemed like you just read out the touch of the felt like it was almost a little higher in altitude. I thought actually farming is higher than the wrangle. Uh it's just different mountains. Our mountains here are more like it looks like somebody took a bulldozer and cut the towns off. But uh of course the Rockies are just absolutely gorgeous. But anyway, let's talk a little bit about that, because you were saying something about how you follow the stars. Okay, so tell me what you were saying, and you're I'm gonna hold you to that. Uh what you're talking about. You're reading something about today. What's going on today? You don't have to pay more attention to me. I heard about that. Let me ask you this. Have you personally ever seen a shooting star?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

A couple of them. What's the tradition? What are you supposed to do when you see a shooting star?

SPEAKER_02

Make a wish, of course.
