Yes, they were kind of like at the time for Japan Japanese music, they were kind of avant-garde. They were really influenced by Western rock music, so they kind of brought that style over to Japan. So I thought that was a cool little time capsule of the song.

Yeah, it's a great dude. I um well I'm enjoying this uh so far it is kind of I don't know, we're we may try something on the break that might be a little that might be helpful for you and I both. Yes. Yeah. Um, it's funny not even being able to recognize the the written language here. You know, I should be able to learn it. The fun fact that they teach you when you're learning all the different writing systems here is that Japan has a literacy rate of 99%. So if they can do it, you can do it. But boy, it's it's easier said than done. It's you know, you go to you go to a Spanish-speaking country or a French-speaking country, you can kind of suss out what certain words mean not here. So I'm at the mercy of the kind, very kind people that have been helping me through, you know, the convenience stores and the other stores I've been visiting. It's it's been a whirlwind.

But let's first of all let's talk about we sushi. So there's uh like sushi everywhere over there, or is it not like it is sushi?

Well, you know, sushi is like it's it's like hamburgers in America. It's not the only thing to eat, but it's pretty common and pretty beloved. Um, I went to a really cool uh conveyor belt sushi restaurant called Hama Sushi, where you sit at your table and you have a little iPad and you just order what you want on the iPad, and then there's a little tiny conveyor belt right next to your table that just shoots the food out to you. It's so flipping cool, and it was delicious. Like, no surprise here. It's the best sushi I've ever had in my entire life, the sushi I've had in Japan.

But also, you know, water is wet. So well, I was gonna say Japan is surrounded by water, so it is in New Mexico. Now come on, it's the freshest sushi is gonna be shipped in, right? There is like you know, it's caught and it's you're probably eating it within an hour after it's been caught. So it's a it's it's a big difference. Big, big difference.

It's it's very cool. Um I've tried some other food too, ramen, obviously. Um the ramen here is the best, it's fresh. And you know, in America, we definitely think of ramen as like struggle food food, like the food you eat when you don't have a ton of money, but properly made ramen is really delicious and filling and good for you because it's got a lot of vegetables in it.

So ramen's been really good. And I've also had some uh convenience store food, which is you know, in America, convenience store food is all just junk food. But here in Japan, you can get like curry, you can get pork cutlet over rice, you can get these delicious sandwiches with like the softest bread you've ever had. Convenience store food here in Japan is.

Well, listen, I want to know a little bit more about Japan. Um and what I'm what comes to mind for me is one of the questions that I thought about that I was gonna ask you in the first segment when it came out. But what have you found that's the most fascinating or interesting?

The most fascinating or most interesting thing about Japan Um The mix of tradition and modernity. So much of Japan is fueled by their history, their natural their um their traditions, um, yet they are living in the future at the same time. Like uh you still have to take your shoes off whenever you enter certain buildings, you know, not to make mess, but also it's a tradition. Um so much of their their cities um and signs are based on traditional art, but then they have these cool little gadgets that you just can't find in America. Um everybody's got a little mini fan that they can fan themselves off with. I guess you could find that in America, but everybody really embraces technology at the same time. I sent you a picture, one of my favorite little things that I found is the mini drip coffee. I know, that's really cool. That's cool. Yeah, it's like a little bag. Excuse me. It's like a little bag that clips on to your coffee cup and you pour hot water over it, and then you've got a single cup of fresh drip coffee. It's like amazing.

I almost said scrimming, but that sounds disrespectful because it it is lettering, but I can't I can't read it, and I can't it's it's a whole other different and it's extremely complex, their writing system.

So you know, it's interesting as an American, it does kind of look like little pictures, but each each symbol has its own different meaning.

Okay, so they were having we just managed to catch this little event they were doing where you could they dress you up in a kimono and then they'd take your pictures. Um so now I have I th it's probably gonna be the only picture that I personally post on Facebook because I'm kind of private, but um, it's the one I'm most proud of of me and my friend um dressed up in kimonos. That was really cool. And it was so interesting having them dress me up because they were speaking Japanese around me, and I could only catch little bits and pieces, but I I heard her say kawaiyo, kawaiiyo, which means you're cute. And I was like, uh, I got that's cool.

One is I had this cream cake, which was like a little like the softest, spongiest cake you've ever tasted, um, wrapped around some like dense whipped cream. And you know, here they don't put high fructose corn syrup in anything. So everything has like real sugar in it, real flavors.

And weirdly enough, I think I've had the best hamburger in my entire life being here. We went and got smash burgers. Yes, we went and got smash burgers at a place called Big Bad Burger. And uh, I got the Oklahoma onion burger, and it was so good. And you know, it kind of makes sense because they um it's it's not traditional food in Japan. That's like, you know, foreigner food. So you you would imagine that they would embrace it and um go about it in a very technical, traditional way. You know what I mean?
