David is an old radio "dj" (disc jockey) getting his brand of talk and humor on the airways since 1969. It’s the animals of the planet responsibility to fertilize the earth, it’s David’s to fertilize the airways. Given the nickname the General because of his last name which he had to convert daGaneral to franchise infringement. Making a reluctant transition to a completely different medium and inviting you to take the journey with him. In each episode he will be talking about life, society, music and everything in between and you might be lucky enough to get a new recipe or two. Episodes could include local guests with interviews about their lives.
After a year and a half rambling, Laren "Ren" Harris joined him, and they bring a whole new format to an ageing radio program. Ren started as David's engineer at KPRT-FM. She has vast experience in acting and is extremely witty. She brings in a fresh perspective and keeps David in line. She is a sci-fi nerd complete with customs. She has operated a bakery as well and they both love to cook!!! Each episode is designed to bring awareness, “wake you up”!

SPEAKER_01I have never heard that song either. I've only ever heard his biggest hits that you hear all over the radio. But that sounds like that almost should have been a John Mellencamp classic.

SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, and my Baudacious Buddy Dave. Are those 80 slings? I don't know. I picked them out, uh, but I'm not from the 80s.

SPEAKER_01But we are celebrating the 80s today. This is a really fun playlist made by G OJ, George of the Jungle announcer. And it's doing kind of double duty. It's songs that represent the 80s, very much the music of the time. Also, like we said in the first half being obscure. Not not super well known.
SPEAKER_07I know he sent us the list and he sent them what you thought in order that he wanted them to play. And I told him when he made the list, I said, George, just send it. And she'll play it. She's in charge. She'll take care of the order.
SPEAKER_01I hope it's okay that it's out of order, George, if you're listening.
SPEAKER_07Um try to say with kind of a theme.
SPEAKER_01I I know, and that's well, that's what I thought was good about all the songs. You can put them in any order and they're gonna sound good. It's just, I'm very specific about the timing. The timing is everything for me, so I just switched up the timing.
SPEAKER_07Well, here it is, April 12th, three days away from how it is.
SPEAKER_01You better uh get get on there. I always think of that, I've said it every year. Um it's the Simpsons joke where they're at the IRS office, everybody's in line pushing and shoving, the they're doing a news report on it. Kent Brockman, the news anchor, goes up to Krusty the Clown and says, Sir, you waited until the last minute to file your taxes. Why? And Krusty goes, because I'm an idiot, alright.
SPEAKER_07Well, typically, the people who wait the last minute are those people that have to pay. Those those folks. Yeah, the folks that get money back usually are filing after they get their W-2s.
SPEAKER_01Yes. I I waited, but that's just because I don't like doing all the paperwork. It stresses me out, man. But uh I did it. I always just do it on online. You know, one of those services.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I use that free tax. Free tax USA, I think it's called. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I use I use another one. We won't give them any plugs. We won't give them any plugs, but they're super easy. Uh so if you've waited until the last minute, don't delay anymore. Don't get yourself into any trouble. You don't need to be in the city.

SPEAKER_01The boustier. And that was uh Jimmy Jimmy, if you didn't hear them say it a thousand times. It was a good song, it was a cute song.

SPEAKER_01And I think it is pretty characteristic of the eighties, which is what this show is kind of about. Classic 80s music. And if you didn't know, what's neat about the 80s is that uh it lasted for about ten years.
SPEAKER_07I wonder where you were going with that.
SPEAKER_01And if you didn't know, it started some say it started in 1980, but then went all the way to 1989. So that's some fun eighties backstory.

SPEAKER_07She wasn't okay with it.
SPEAKER_01She secretly was holding her. Well I think that's something that's nice too. Like baby boomers. There's that stereotype that they make jokes about how much they hate their wife, how they hold them. And same with the women, they make jokes about how they hate their husband. But you know, you could say that that's maybe because that generation was raised to believe that once you get married, that's it. And so they would stay in relationships that were unfulfilling, you know, longer than they should have. So I think it's healthy anytime you can recognize, hey, me and this person aren't working out anymore.
SPEAKER_07Well, we're still good friends to this day. So, you know, if you're the mother of two of my kids, I just always have a piece of my heart that's always.
SPEAKER_01And she always has a piece of radio legacy, you know.
