Susan is the author of two books on the history of women in the New Testament and in the early church. She is Associate Professor of New Testament at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Our conversation takes us through the complex literary treasures found in John. We talk about the importance of ambiguous characters and symbolism in John. Susan explains the relationship of Jesus to other Jewish thinkers of his time. Also, we look at John’s version of Jesus’ last days.
