I'm proud to present the second of our "Veteran" episodes (E18), featuring my interview with Mike Schindler. Mike is the founder and CEO of Operation Military Family Cares, a Seattle-based non-profit committed to helping Veterans and their families find success in their communities. Operation Military Family (OMF) does this by developing Veteran programs that help industries, communities, and our military and veteran families thrive.
Mike, a US Navy Veteran, has authored two books: US Veterans in the Workforce and Operation Military Family. The first tells stories of Veterans returning home (from deployments) and the challenges and opportunities they face, as well as the advantages (to the corporate world) of hiring the 7% - America's greatest asset. The second shares candid stories and challenges faced by military families trying to preserve their marriages (through multiple deployments) and provides tools and techniques for dealing with this hardship.
